  1. Keep in mind that Vidor has only played 5 games to LCM’s 6, these numbers are a bit skewed.
  2. I rarely reply on these threads, normally I like to follow the live updates as they are being posted but I thought, what heck, why not enter into this one! I, as well as many other people I speak with, have never really considered ned as “our rival” any more nor any less than any other team we play. Yes, a win against some teams may be sweeter than others just as a loss against some teams may hurt a little more than others. But at the end of the game, they were still a group of young boys on the field. As for the mid-crazy madness, it’s true, that is the only real rivally around here! And why is that? And does anyone outside of png and ned really care. The only thing that means anything is how it affects the standings. That’s the only reason anyone else would care. But as it was pointed out that Vidor and ned aren’t rivals it does bring up a question about last years game, why would kids from ned say if Vidor won there would be a fight on the field? It wasn’t coming from the kids in Vidor, the Pirates gave that beating during the game. Anyways, I’m so glad ned kept Memorial in “check” last night but a check isn’t a win. Good news though, ned will continue move on. I know this thread started just to stir the pot and that’s what I’m doing, stir stir stir.
  3. I, being from Vidor, would like to thank all of you for your kind words. I follow all of the teams in our district and hope for the best for each team, ( high school students not the trash talking armchair quarterbacks). When Vidor travels or plays host I wish for 3 things, a safe arrival of everyone, a great game between the two teams and a safe trip home. We are not enemies but mere opponents! I very rarely post on setxsports but Seadog I couldn't not reply. Thank you for the compliment, it is great for our 3 teams being part of something big.
  4. PAM receives. Hope the Pirates can keep their heads in the game.
  5. Just look at the teams in 19-4A and compare the wins and loss columns to 20-4A and you will see there really isn't much of a difference. Sure SC is a good team but not as great as all of the pups hype them up to be. Wait for it..... Wait for it.....
  6. Hey Coach, ever notice how no matter what thread you go to someone always starts smack talking talking Vidor and then we match up and send them home defeated and then they start crying about one thing or another???? Case in point, I give you Bronx Rox.
  7. Here's another article to read and wonder how he was able to get away with it for as long as he did. [Hidden Content] Hope the link works.
  8. Four things are missing from this thread, Rocket, tupac7, BWood and beardown96. Has any one seen them tonight?
  9. Didn't see any physical injuries but all of the spitting from Liv onto the faces of the Pirates, the boys might should be tested for diseases. And this should be filed with the UIL.
  10. The Pirates sportsmanship is an obvious reflection of the very classy coaching staff.
  11. Raidergirl I have been there and know what you are saying. It is hard to watch your team go through the season without a win but it's even harder when your own side is against you. But as the old saying goes winners never quit and quitters never win, the boys on Lumbertons team are winners.
  12. I agree with you Stangfan, Vidor does need some passing plays to add to the very lethal running game. I have said that since back in the 80's.
  13. While the players might not have put high points on the board the coaches scored high points with these kids and the kids will remember their actions and will look forward to playing PNG year after year. Nice post. WTG PNG coaching staff.
  14. Couldn't the same be said about a team that has shut out almost every team they've played this season, I am speaking of WOS. I'm not hating on them, I am proud of them. The Mustangs been a strong force for song long that winning has become a tradition to WOS. But does it make them poor sportsman for having such an incredible winning season?
  15. Did Ned play that good or was Liv having an off night? Elaborate please.
  16. Central has a talented qb, some good receivers but lacks in coaching. Tie that up with the worst refs officiating since the NFL replacements and central has a chance. But LCM takes home the win.
  17. Although Vidor and Ned play a different formation, statistically Vidor is a better team than Ned. Liv only 7 pts on the board against Ned. Vidor wins 35-14!!!
  18. Thank you Bama, I was misinformed and stand corrected. Thank you. Should have done my own research. But I believe I'm correct on the other.
  19. I know I am very late in posting this and it may never be received and read for whom it is intended but better late than never! This is going out to proudndn; Last night two high school football teams played a competitive game called football. The Vidor Pirates were host to the PNG Indians on what was Vidor's Homecoming. The home side was at greater than capacity  seating and there was several hundred more standing along the fence to watch the game. There was at all times 11 players on both teams playing offensively and defensively, both of these teams played with pride, talent and heart. All of these boys should take pride in their efforts, their talents shone through with their love of the game. As with most game's, it ended with one team coming out on top, which in last nights game Vidor got the win. During half time the bands from both schools performed for our entertainment, again with pride, talent and heart. The performance from both bands was awesome, two different styles, two different routines. The drill teams and twirlers were awesome as well. Neither bands were any better than the other last night. Last weekend the UIL marching band contest was held with Vidor receiving straight ones. I'm not sure what rating the PNG band received but if the performed then as they did last night I could only imagine they received straight ones as well. You see proud, the competition was played out with school aged students, I don't know your age, just guessing since you was seated in the stands you are above the said age, you might can learn something from them. Stop trash talking and let the score at the end speak. You can also learn from the other PNG fans on this forum of how a truly Proud Indian fan should represent his team. Jealousy is a great form of flattery. Also, just so you know, the football team wasn't the only winners last night, the VHS band was also the winner's of the Band of the Week. One last point, everyone who was able to attend the game, leave he game and drive home safely was the biggest winner of all.
