THE GAME IS OVER. this thread has gone way south. supposed to be about wishing a young outstanding football player a speedy recovery back to health. glad to hear he dressed for practice yesterday. i dont like seeing these young men getting injured no matter how it happens. Best of wishes to BIG #49. you were a beast Friday night. -
They evidently don't even have to take an eye exam.
lol, yeah, they don't see everything. and sometimes they see imaginary things. but, i was leaning more towards physical condition. like being able to keep up with the play.
Enough of the blaming on who did what to who. This thread was started by a players dad who wanted to thank those who asked about his injury and to toot his horn for his son. Lets get back to the real thread !!!!!!!!!
this^^^^^^ -
you gotta think regardless of the season so far, Central remembers that Lumberton shut them out last year. that alone will be motivation for em to return the whippin they took last year. Central by 21.

even with speed, it's gonna be hard to put up points on the Ned D. and incase some of you haven't noticed yet, they are pretty quick themselves. and i use the word quick in a sense that they react to the ball quick and pursue very well. you may outrun them in a straight race, but in the game you gonna have a hard time getting to that high gear. not taking away from Livingston, just saying.
if i had a dollar for everytime someone got an eye poked or punched in the gut in the pile, i wouldn't have to be at work today. -
i'm picking lc-m but wouldn't be surprised in the least if pn-g pulls it out.

Which means 2 of the top 20 teams in the state will be home after week one. Oh yeah and wos is the best 3a team lets leave it at that. No doubt they could play with anyone though.
Yeah i know that what sucks lol. But don't worry Vidor and Ned will do well in representing SETX in rounds 2, 3, 4 and so on and so forth. ;)
8) -
I would like to congratulate Caleb and share some family news on his behalf. Simply because if you truly know Caleb he is a very quiet and humble kid. He has begun to receive recruitment letters as well as e-mails of interest from various schools. Such as Georgia Tech, Arizona, SMU, TCU, Texas A&M(tamu.scout.com) and last but not least Lamar. Caleb was injured Friday night by what I (DAD) consider to be a cheap shot(that was flagged) against Vidor. He is recovering well and was able to put some pressure on it today as he continues to get treatment on it. Thanks to all who care and those who have checked on him(friends and coaches). Thanks on behalf of the Malveaux's and may god bless you all. Sincerely Caleb's Proud Dad.
good to hear he's recovering well. i saw the block you are speaking of and was very disappointed that it occured. though it was illegal i can only hope it was not malicious. i recieved a similar hit my senior year and it put me out for 3 games. i am big on staying high on your block. i cant't stand to see someone get taken down low. my teeth grit everytime i see it because i remember what it felt like. hope he recovers 100% and continues on to Saturday afternoon games in the future. no doubt the young man is a very talented ball player. -

no this is not a thread about complaining about the officials....... last night during pre-game they announced all of the training and what not that refs had to go through. what i want to know is, is there some sort of physical training requirement they must meet. some of our refs last night didn't look to be in the best of shape or health. just asking so don't read into it what isn't there.

I personally could have done without the eye poke and the illegal chop block that could have seriously injured one of Ned's best players, but anyway. Vidor came out inspired and ready to play, but Ned was just the better team.
Eye poke?
Yeah, Taylor took a sweep right, jumped over a defender and was being tackled, a Vidor defender poked his hand through his facemask and poked his eye. It was obvious. Not as obvious of the offensive player who ripped off Barrows helmet on the int at the end of the 1st half though.
Man you really don't know football very well do you. If a football player had a nickel for every time someone poked at his eyes, pinched him, shoved his helmet into the dirt, ripped there helmet off then they wouldn't need to go to the nfl. Sensitive much?
no, I understand completely. If I was getting pushed all over the field, I would have probably done something too. Just sayin... I could have done with-out that. No harm, no foul... but if Ned would have lost #49, that would have been a huge loss. No pun intended.
there was plenty of what you speak of going both ways. and i seriuosly doubt the cut block was intended to do harm. and if you point out things of that nature, how about the choke slam(yes choke slam) on Montana during an attempted fake punt. i could have done without that but things like that happen in games like this one was. always have and always will. as long as no one is intentionally trying to put someone out of the game, i can live with it. -

Vidor settles down and makes a statement with this one. Vidor - 31 Ozen - 10
I think 31 points may be optimistic unless Moore is back to take some of the load off of Quirante. I heard he is out for the Ozen game as well. Anybody know?
there is a possibility that Moore will be back for Ozen.
Great game. Can we please start playing this as a yearly neutral site game at Lamar? Can hold more fans plus I hate going to Vidor because of the game day traffic Also going to go out on a limb and say that Vidor's kicking game is going to cost them at some point this season.
our kicking game had been great coming into the game. just had a bad night against a team that it will surely cost you against. gotta get every point you can in games like that. but i believe will be fine the rest of the way. -

how did everyone fare last night? i think there was only 1 injury timeout in the Ned/Vidor game but the kid walked off under his own power. thank God for watching over these young men last night. it was a slugfest.

Whats the look for who's going d1 and d2? I see the 4 playoff teams as ned vidor ozen and livingston in order. Who would go where?
Nederland (1478.5) Vidor (1398) Ozen (1264) Livingston (1143) Vidor has the 4th biggest enrollment in the district. If PN-G & Central miss the playoffs then Vidor goes D1.
I'm hoping we miss the D1 in fear of meeting up with SC. They would go D1 if they make it right?
Can't fear anyone in the playoffs. To be the best you have to beat the best.
Oh don't get me wrong i'm not scared and neither is Vidor but if its possible to face someone other than SC and Dayton in round one i'm gonna hope for it. But if it happens i will definitely cheer my pirates onto victory.
we would have to be the d2 #2 seed in order to face Dayton in round 1. which basically means we finished 3rd or 4th in district. don't see that happening. we will be either D1 #2 wich will likely get SC or D2 #1 in which case we wouldn't see Dayton until quarter finals. but hey, we got alot of football to play first. you never know how it's goona pan out.
