The same stats that people over in the Golden Triangle always pointed out but now that a team from that area is making a run, ya'll aren't pointing those stats out. Why is that? Angleton is a dang good team and if they play a complete game this game will not be close. They will hit you from different angles on offense. But now if they play like they did last night (Which is the worse they have played all year) then Vidor will win by a td. But Angleton is going to score 30+ and they will score quick and will score often. And don't kick the ball past the middle row on Kickoff's or it will be returned for a td. Every team for some reason has decided atleast once to kick it deep and it has been returned for 6. Dayton is the exception because every kickoff hit the field house  :)
Hope you stand by that because you just may be eating those words in a week.
I have no problem eating my own words. If you wanna run with Angleton for a whole game then Angleton will win. Angleton has only lost twice to predominately running teams in the last 4 years and those losses were to Central in '08 (which needed a last second screen pass to win) and El Campo last year.
Well, it is a good thing that what has happened in the last 4 years does not really matter.  All that matters is one game.  And you are saying the same thing about Vidor that Crosby and Montgomery fans said the past two weeks.  Montgomery was giving up like 10ppg.  Vidor scored 42.
 2.
Int Stratford at the Ned 39 Why come out passing, when it's not your strength???
Same reason Vidor did last night.  To show something a little different and keep the defense on their toes...
 3. I can't listen to this one because I annoyed my husband listening to Vidor last night.  So, a score update would help me not go through football withdrawal, thanks.
No fish and chips?
Only from Long John Silver's, which we don't have in the Golden Triangle anymore... :(
 6. I agree.  It isn't necessary to post a new thread for each thought you have.
 7. Wouldn't be playing in Vidor either.  Actually, I doubt many schools around here would allow it.
 8.

Ive seen Angleton play a few times & their athletic & fast.  With that being said they're probably the easiest undefeated team to beat IMO. Make'em pass and key the run.  GAME OVER.
I believe the same can be said about Vidor, but even more so. Angleton has thrown for about 1300 yards and 19 TD's so far to go along with their rushing attack. This may come down to who can make some big plays on special teams. I expect a hard hitting game from both teams, but of course being a homer I say Angleton wins 35-21.
Vidor can pass when they need to and proved that last night.  Came out passing and finished it up with their bread and butter.

Let go Cubs!
I hope Ozen takes it to brenham! Because you have got to be the sole person that has downed Vidor on these past few weeks. keep it up so Vidor cant keep shutting you up. Go 20-4a!!!!! Good luck Panthers Go Vidor, Round 3 baby!
I don't think he has really downed Vidor, honestly.  There were a few Montgomery fans who did, but he was not one of them.  Picking against a team doesn't necessarily equate to downing them.
 10. That's great.  I don't want anyone to pick Vidor.  They haven't from the beginning, so why start now?
 11. Quirante has been dominant on both sides of the ball, so he should definitely be the favorite.  That isn't to take anything away from the other Vidor players or the other players in the district.
 12. Most definitely!  And it takes excellent coaches to turn around an entire program.
 13. Even if they hadn't won a single game, we'd still be proud of them.  I think every little boy in Vidor grows up wanting to play football for the Pirates (even my son and he only lived there 2 years).  They all believe they are going to be "different" than the past and win.  These boys are exceeding everyone's expectations and are still going strong.  Someone said these are good memories for them.  These are good memories for the entire city and for anyone who ever graduated from Vidor High School. My dad was a senior in 1964.  He is so proud of this team, he's had a smile on his face for weeks.
 14. I'd be interested to see his defensive stats too.
 15. They let their excitement get the best of them a little bit and Montgomery wasn't going to quit.  I'm sure Mathews will have them more settled next week.
 16. Vidor has to slow it down and run the clock more.  I know this sounds odd, but they almost scored too quickly tonight.
He's also a pretty good basketball player. I sure hope Larry Sterling doesn't mind not having him for a little while longer!!!
He's a good kid too.  I had the pleasure of getting to teach him and a few other boys on the team a couple times in 7th/8th grade.
 18. As I said in the other thread:  Is there anything he cannot do?
 19. Montgomery never gave up either!  Love it when I see it, especially in high school.  Those kids are going to go far in life. This was a good, clean game.
