Montgomery eliminated Magnolia from the postseason with a 25-23,22-25,22-25,25-23,15-13 win over Magnolia to advance to the Region III-4A tournament for the second time in three years.

Brenham-41 Stratford-14 IMO the main reason Montgomery lost to Magnolia West was the offense just lost their main starting running back and depended on the pass to much and West did not respect Montgomery to run. Montgomery has now found a few running backs to replace House but still struggles to run the ball without him. Brenham did the same thing. Montgomery will have to run better or it will be a short lived playoffs depending on a pretty good defense.

I know most of the area teams would love to have the success that Brenham consistently has in all sports football, baseball, volleyball, softball. They are consistently a playoff team and well coached. The biggest weakness IMO this year is at kicker and will bite them in the playoffs (field position/field goals) against a later round team. Most of us would like to be called overated that means they are watching us closely and must be worried about playing them in the future. It will all be settled on the field!
