  1. I believe one throw pulled the first baseman off the base but might have been called a hit. Either way BH hit the heck out of the ball and was going to comeback for sure
  2. Some good hitting by Barbers Hill. Magnolia shot themselves in the foot with two errors that would have got them out of the inning. They stuck with the starter (Black) way to long. Good job by BH to take advantage of it.
  3. Congrats Montgomery boys, came with the underdog A game today. Go get um Lady Bears beat Huntsville and keep it going!!!! Congrats to PNG on a great season.

  5. I'll take Eric Stegent in one game and the Ice Cream boys. 6-3
  6. Montgomery pitching will be the key to me in the series. When Ty Boland (lefty) the #1 is on, he is very good (good hitter also). Hayes or Morris could pitch second game but not near as experienced as Boland. Should be a good series with two good fundamental teams. Good luck to both teams and I'll take my Bears in three.
  7. Magnolia was 19-9-2 and 9-5 third in district. Senior P/1B Jarred Green, an Arkansas signee, was projected as the No. 1 pitcher, but he began experiencing pain in his elbow in the offseason and had Tommy John surgery. Against Montgomery (regionals) last year he was really good. Leadoff McGowan, Lee, Hickman, Salvaggio are good hitters and I believe Black is their #1 pitcher. Good team with healthy Green would have been scary good. Some more info at this site- [Hidden Content]
  8. Congrats to Montgomery boys and girls! 1 game at a time, long way to go. Good luck to both!
  9. Can't find Magnolia Humble score anywhere. Pretty big upset of highly ranked The Woodlands by Klein Oak. Walk off grand slam 4-0. [Hidden Content]
  10. Montgomery beat Willis today 10-8 to tie up the series 1-1 with game 3 tommorrow in Willis at 2:00pm.
  11. Montgomery will take on Willis in a cross county Region III-4A bi-district playoff. The Bears and Wildkats will play a three-game series with Willis hosting Game 1 at 7 p.m. Thursday. Game 2 is set to be at Montgomery at 7 p.m. Friday while Game 3’s time and place have yet to be set. Magnolia will host Humble at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to begin a three-game series. The Bulldogs will travel to play at Humble at 7 p.m. Friday and will return at noon Saturday if needed. Magnolia West, District 17-4A’s No. 4 seed, will play District 18-4A champion Kingwood Park on the road at 7 p.m. Thursday to begin a three-game series. The Mustangs will host Kingwood Park at 7 p.m. Friday and will travel back to Kingwood Park at 7 p.m. if needed.
  12. Congrats Brenham/Brenhamfan- well deserved- very good team and Stegent is heck of an all-around player.
  13. Congrats Brenham/Brenhamfan- good game-looks like the District title is heading your teams way. Montgomery coach in my opinion stuck with the starter (Boland) way to long again. You can't wait till bases are loaded to pull the plug. The walks come back to kill you playing a good team. Hope to see you guys in the playoffs soon for a rematch.
  14. Brenhamfan going to the game friday in Montgomery? I will be there, looks like the district title could be on the line. District race really tight between the three top teams.
  15. Montgomery-2 Stratford-1 Garrett Hrozek hit a bases-loaded walkoff single to cap off a two-run seventh inning rally to give Montgomery a 2-1 win over Stratford. The Bears rallied for both runs after giving up a run in the top of the sixth to break up a 0-0 game. Luke Heeman got the win for the Bears, pitching three innings. Gunner Vaught tied the game in the seventh with an RBI for the Bears (15-9, 7-1). The Bears rolled to a 16-0 win over Northbrook on Monday. Montgomery will play at Magnolia West at 7 p.m. Thursday Magnolia West-6 Brenham-5 FINAL>> MAG WEST 6 BRENHAM 5 WP-Ellwanger-CG-7IP-11H-5R-5ER-1BB-3K, LP-Jozwiak. HR-WHS-R Spahn-3R, D Petrinsky-solo
