  1. I totally agree with you basketball@heart... I'm sure the team will go just as far this year as they have in the past... As to JC fan.... you have done a lot of mouthing on this sight and i have stayed off of here until now... I have two things to say to you .... As a preacher you should know your job is to build people up not break them down... and if you have so much to say about sports and could do as good a job as Angie Cruz does stop your preaching job go spend your energy in a classroom and get a degree to be a coach but i promise if you get that slip of paper you could never fill her shoes... My sister has played vball since Jr. High and i have rarely missed a game... I won't tell you that i have agreed with everything cruz has done because to say that would be a lie... I've actually been pretty mad at times but she is the best female coach WH has ever seen... I can say that because i was born and raised in this town and i've seen a lot of the coaches... She has taken the girls to playoffs everyear she has been here... To the ones who mouthed about her losing the playoff game for them this year... That is a load of crap the girls lost it for themselves... Some wanted it some didn't... AS a coach you can teach them how to play and encourage them but you can't give them the heart to win it everytime... And as i preacher i would think you of all people should know that the gossip you do on here and the mouthing and the judging is just FLAT OUT WRONG!!!!! O you probably wonder y everyone knows who you are??? Rule # 1 to living in a small town... NOthing stays a secret!!!

I think that it is sad that one person can try to post a comment and get blamed for judging, yet another can judge the person and it is considered a comment.  Guess it just depends on whether or not you're a preacher as to whether you are making a comment or passing judgement.

Either way, jcfan has always been a supporter of the kids and he does so by supporting their sports.  I think his comment about "losing alot" was meant to mean that he didn't realize the team was losing SO MANY players, not to indicate that he thought they were losing so much TALENT.  It is amazing how different interpretation can be.

As for saying, "judging is just flat out wrong"... you are right.  You should not have judged JCfan the way you did.  I think he deserves an apology.

  2. I think it is amazing how one person can start out saying one thing, like please help the bball program before next year, and the next thing you know the person is being accused of not following the chain of command to taking personal shots!

I think it is a shame how the year ended for the girls bball team.  I think by watching the guys play for 2 years, it is a good example of how consistency in coaching with a good role model who teaches the game and sportsmanship can make all the difference in the overall attitude of the team and the success of the team.

The point with the girls issue is NOT wins and losses...it is about teamwork, attitude, and good coaching which produces an improvement in the skill in which the team plays the game.  I think it is very hard for a group of girls to be excited about playing a game and be able to play it well when they feel like they are unimportant in the school's sports program as well as feeling like their coaches do not care about the game enough to coach them.

That is my opinion and concern.  Please take it for what I said, and not for what you think I might have meant. :)

  3. I am so PROUD of this group of young men!  You have played one great season... you have defeated the odds in several circumstances, you have made the news!, and you have made your community proud to call you "our team"!

Do not be ashamed of this defeat, but instead be proud of your victories and accomplishments!!  And please, give credit where credit is due... you were able to "Face the Giants" because you had God on your side!

Coach Fuller, thank you for your leadership, your humility, and your witness to this group of guys... you are a God-send! :)

Guys, thank you for making this game enjoyable... I never liked basketball until I moved to West Hardin.    ;D

Apply what Mrs. Mindy said to your lives as well, and you will continue to accomplish great things in your life.  "Nothing is impossible with God", and "you can do all things through Him who strengthens you".

    Love you guys!   ;)

  5. Well said, sportsmom3!  I think Brandon is so humble that he wouldn't want the recognition, which says alot for his character.

Character, integrity, humility, skill, passion... all those things combine are what make a "Player of the Year".

Can we just put in our opinion of who we think qualifies and why we think they qualify, and stop bashing each other?!?  Good grief!  It's not like any of us are "experts"... put in the opinion and let COOP make the determination, please.

Good job so far this season Brandon!  You've got my vote, if it counts!

  6. Thanks for the insight.  I am not upset or opposing the coin toss...I just wanted to know the pros and cons of it and to see what the purpose and intent of it would be.  I think there is a lot to be said for good match play and making sure that you go into the playoffs prepared and healthy.  Can't wait for the outcome in the weeks ahead...Go Oilers!

  7. Can orangeman or someone else please explain to me what's the talk with the "coin toss"?  Now, I'm not asking for any insider info, I'm just asking why would we want to participate in this, or why does BS want to?

Just want to understand what is going on, so any info from anyone would be helpful.

  8. I said it before, and now I'll say it again...look no further for your "Coach of the Year"...Coach Kent Fuller deserves the trophy!  I have never met a coach who showed so much heart, so much class, so much integrity, and so much love as this man does.  If you've never had the blessing of meeting him, count it a loss.  Of course, there is a reason he is all of those things, and that is what makes him extra special as well...he doesn't mind sharing why he is so different.  "The Light" truly shines in this man... on and off the court!  Way to go Coach, and way to go Oilers.  WH is blessed to have such a great team and a great coach to support.  I would also like to recommend a player of the week...Jared Tomlinson played one of his best games last night!  I am so proud of you ALL!!!
