[/quote] I don't know to much about coach Holmes but I know coach Bennett is definitely helping a lot with the strength and conditioning. And I completely agree we have more than one reciever. I think the passing game will be pretty good this year and I'm sticking with that.

[/quote] Kelly's passing game will not be its strength this season, but their defense looked good in their scrimmage this past Thursday and Coach Holmes has done a great job getting the team conditioned, organized, and prepared. Kelly will win at West Sabine this coming Friday. [/quote] I disagree if the receivers step up the passing game will be really good. We all know what Will Darling can do at QB

Obviously I'm biased on this but I think Kelly will win. It could be close but I see Kelly's passing game winning it.

[/quote] LCM's first team offense scored one touchdown on HJ and HJ was held scoreless by Kelly, they got to about the one yard line then fumbled. And Kelly was held scoreless by LCM defense but got the ball intercepted on around the 15-10 yard line and started moving the ball good again then the 12 minutes expired. I had to leave after the 1st teams were done so I don't know how the second team offense/defense went.

Kelly played MUCH better this scrimmage than the 1st. They moved the ball very well against LCM's defense. But Kelly's defense still looks a little rough. All teams looked pretty good. I think LCM would beat both Kelly and HJ in games and a Kelly vs HJ game would be a interesting one but I think Kelly's offense would be to much in the end. Just my opinion based off what I saw today.

[/quote] our O-line is DEFINITELY our weak point it is going to be up to them if we have a good season our QB is a three year starter and is very good. Our RB got good playing time as a freshman last year and averaged around 6 yards per carry I believe so he is good but can't do anything without an O-line. We have a couple good receivers and if they don't perform well this could be a long season. I think we have to rely on passing. That said I will be personally very surprised if we lose to WS I just don't see it happening.

[/quote] It said in the full write up that Kerry Bennett who still trains Christine Michael is the running backs and head strength and conditioning coach. Troy Esprit from HJ is the new OC. And Hunter Gonzales from LCM is a receiver coach. I know Coach Kerry and he will definitely help the team with strength and conditioning. A lot.

Hate to say this but I think Kelly had the biggest turn around last year and I think they will again this year. From state championship to not making playoffs I think.

Every kid played well. I was impressed with Kenebrew from Kelly (22 on the west team) I was excited to see what he could do against the 5a/4a players. And he didn't disappoint while I was there I saw him get two runs for 8 yards each. And Barber played good to had that very good run that he fumbled in the endzone at the end though. I was impressed as it was his first time playing football since having surgery on his acl. Didn't seem to lose much speed which is good.

[/quote] well he I a high school coach now but I would have to say if this was when he was still coaching St Anne I would have to say him. The things he did at St Anne with the low number of kids he had, about 30 boys in each grade, was remarkable. St Anne was competing or beating with pretty much any body they played every year. And he would not schedule easy. he was a GREAT middle school coach

Vidor or Nederland no doubt. 20-4a Will have trouble with these two. But I also think it depends if you mean best over all or best at their level it could change with that concept. I think EC will have a very good season next year.

Personally I think the EC coach should have won it did a GREAT job in his first as did Heartsfield at Kelly. But I think Kelly had more talent for him to work with. but hey last season is over and spring training is in session let's talk about next season not last.
