Effective March 16, all UIL interscholastic competition is suspended through March 29. Rehearsals and practices may be held at the discretion of the local school district. “We are urging our member schools and their communities to stay vigilant and take every possible precaution to remain safe and healthy,” said UIL Executive Director Dr. Charles Breithaupt. “We understand there is a lot of uncertainty during this unprecedented time. Please know UIL leadership is working diligently to adjust to this rapidly evolving situation and will share updates as soon as possible.” As this is a fluid situation, the UIL will continue to follow the direction of state and local officials to monitor this situation and will make additional announcements as needed. The suspension of UIL events is from March 16-29

It will, the UIL suspension begins on Monday.

Just got an email from the UIL, UIL is suspending all activity until March 29th

With President Trump's address, I'd bet the house on it.

One state it way ahead if you, Louisiana is closing it's public schools through April 13th.

It will be interesting how the UIL will act given Governor Abbott's State Disaster Declaration a few minutes ago.

My understanding is that this tournament has also halted play.

North Shore has cancelled all games, practices and school through March 22nd

Scratch that, West Brook Baseball twitter account just tweeted that BISD administration will allow the tournament to complete.

Huffman has cancelled baseball games for the weekend.

Heard that after tonight's games, the tournament will halt play in order to comply with the BISD's decision this afternoon to suspend sporting events.

Just heard a twitter sound bite from UIL Associate Director Jamie Harrison, he says it is the UIL's intention to complete state tournaments in all sports.

Oh, don't worry. School closings are not far behind. Several schools are already delaying coming back from Spring break in order to prepare for "online classes."

Just heard a tweeted conference involving Jamie Harrison, who said it is "our goal, our hope, our intention to complete this tournament sometime in the future."

Prayers to these young men's families as well as Coach Williams and the Burkeville community.

There were a couple of games played at this tournament before it was cancelled. I see something coming soon.

After what happened with the Boys Basketball Tournament and with the UIL cancelling various academic state meets, I expect the UIL to make this statewide as early as tomorrow and at the latest sometime next week.
