I can't believe that at this time, when I should be preparing the softball and baseball sections, I have to deal with this. I just had to issue online an apology to Randy Crouch, Mike Long and their respective school administrators, one of which is WAS FORMERLY PASTOR OF MY CHILDHOOD CHURCH.  To top that it had to be a thread in which I was heavily involved and on an issue as folks can tell from my posts there I feel pretty strongly about. Why because a staff member decided to make an attempt to pass himself over as Coach Crouch and Coach Long for purposes of furthering his point of view. Here are the posts in question: [img][Hidden Content]] [img][Hidden Content]] As you can see, the IP addresses match each other......and.....they match the IP of one of our own. So to questions 1) Kerry, why?  Why did you pull such a stunt which will serve only to undermine the opinion of those of us who support Coach Thompson in this matter as well as being a blatant violation of board rules?  Not only that but to threaten the very credibility of this board. 2) How going forward should we handle this?

I'll find out what happened BBDad as the last thing I want is for this thread to be marred by some sort of funny business by the staff if that is the case. Also, in the last day or so, there have been a couple of folks who posted and then deleted their accounts. One being "LC-M Coach" and the other being "Kelly Football."  Both of these were the same person on the site falsely passing himself off as Coach Randy Crouch of LC-M and Coach Mike Long of Kelly.  For the moment they will remain up as I need to preserve some evidence from those posts, but they will be coming down shortly. SETXsports.com extends its deepest of apologies to Coach Crouch, and the staff and the administration of the Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD, as well as Coach Long, the staff and administration at Kelly High School and the Catholic Diocese for Beaumont for this incident.  I'd like to also apologize to all of the SETX members who were subject of this hoax as well.

[/quote] Yes, I was responding to that question.  I am surely curious to know the people who were contacted outside of the application process as I would hope some folks with pretty high credentials would be on that list.  But if they didn't submit an application the full body of those that were contacted who did not apply will never be known unless all such candidates make themselves known.

And to make one thing clear, I had mentioned a few days ago of a rumored 4th coach contacted by that committee that would bring snickers and giggles if his name was revealed, the 4th coach's name that I heard WAS NOT Coach Young. That 4th coach was a name that was kiddingly mentioned prior.

Cornel Thompson is a grown man who can apply where ever he wants.  IF Cornel Thompson could convince his wife to move to Katy, Superintendent Alton Frailey and Athletic Director Rusty Dowling would drool over the chance to have Coach Thompson as head coach at one of the high schools in the Katy ISD.   If you are trying to say that as I am not a resident of the WOC CISD, I forfeit any opinion, I will just have to plain disagree with that. As it is obvious you are not a Thompson supporter.  Just WHO do you endorse for the job?

Of course there are other schools who like, Crosby and the Baytown schools, have fit in under umbrella due to a number of their fans finding the board and becoming contributing members.  We have seen an increase of activity in some schools in 18-4A so if there is ever an expansion of the coverage, 18-4A schools like New Caney would be the next logical choice.  I'd definitely need some help as I getting to the limit of schools that I can handle throughout the year. Hope this gives you some insight!

Let's see: 1.  Over 30 years of service to the West Orange-Cove ISD.  He is one of few members of the school district whose service to the district PRE-DATES the merger of West Orange and Stark High Schools; 2.  Assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for a team that has 2 state championships, 4 state championship game appearances and 5 regional titles; 3.  Countless players on the West Orange-Stark defense have gone on to play college football, many of them in FBS Division of the NCAA and some in the National Football League; 4.  A creator of defenses so effective that he has been asked to lecture about them; 5.  A friend to all in the community , not just athletes; 6.  A person who doesn't look at this head coaching job as a stepping stone for other opportunities as this is his dream job; 7.  A person who has been endorsed by current players as the best choice for the next head coach at WO-S; 8.  A person who has been endorsed by past players as the best choice for the next head coach at WO-S; 9.  A person who has been nearly unanimously endorsed by members of the the coaching fraternity as the best choice for the next head coach at WO-S; 10. This ain't youth soccer or little league baseball.  In the West Orange-Stark program, all they ever asked for is desire and discipline. If you had those two attributes, you had a place on the team and in Cornel Thompson's defense.  If you lacked even one of those, you might find quickly that the West Orange-Stark football team was not the best place for you.

And WO-S did not go far while he was gone.  I guess this point would be appropriate to point out that his absence from the WO-S staff from 2001-2003 coincided with the longest Mustang playoff drought since the early 1980's.

[/quote] And ladies and gentlemen, here we have a member on the illustrious search committee, Erick Guillory.  Aggie, I have to do precious little in a post as by his one post here, Mr. Guillory has succeeded more than I could do in a 1000 in illustrating the concerns I have about the actions of this committee.  THIS is the type of individual that the superintendent has plucked out of the community to serve aside Hutcherson Hill, who I trust implicitly to engage in the search of the new head coach at WO-S and athletic director of the school district that I graduated from.  After this, there can be absolutely no dispute that any misgivings about the committee aren't reasonable.  I absolutely told you that people could lose jobs and board members could lose positions, that goes without saying.  It is a viewpoint that has, without prompting,been seen as a probably consequence by fans, coaches, school board members from neighboring districts and MOST IMPORTANTLY, taxpayers of the West Orange-Cove CISD. In fact, if I remember correctly in our discussion you yourself acknowledged that view.  As to me hollering, the only way your children heard my voice is if you put me on speakerphone as my wife who was but about 10 ft away could not hear our conversation, although I would doubtlessly be without blame if I started to raise my voice to your continued condescending admonitions to "listen and learn."  I guess that is how I should have known the conversation would go when your response to my original text to you in support of Coach Thompson received the response of "Y." If Coach Thompson doesn't get the nod, it is on you.  As a supposed "friend" of Coach Thompson that you "needed" material to take to the rest of the committee because there are all of these candidates who had resumes better than Coach T.  And I will repeat now what I said then, if you as a lifelong resident of Orange (although, I understand not a 4 year student at West Orange-Stark as you found yourself transferring to that "losing" program over at Little Cypress-Mauriceville for SOME reason which is probably the reason JohnnyT60, a father of a pretty well known LC-M alumnus, was questioning your placement on the committee), could not make a sound case for Coach Thompson, that you weren't trying.  In fact, it was you that told me that people needed to "show love" to Coach Thompson because the members of the committee weren't seeing it.  Pardon me, I found THREE different facebook pages endorsing Coach Thompson as coach (and I apparently unlike you took the initiative to send those links to Mr. Colbert).  If you would have done your homework, you would have found it quite easy to show the committee the support of the community for Coach Thompson as you told me was the role provided you by Mr. Colbert.  PLEASE, don't give me the "if Coach T is not hired, it is your fault."  If by some happenstance, Coach Thompson does not get this job, it is because YOU committee members REFUSED to listen to the community and coaching fraternity who to a person, have endorsed Cornel Thompson as coach (even reportedly those candidates recruited by the committee to compete against his application).  And if you personally don't opt for Coach Thompson, then you just foster the belief held by many that you never actually supported Thompson and that while professing your support, you were looking for an excuse to oppose him. And just exactly HOW can potential candidates be called? It sure hasn't been done by me. In fact, those candidates that I know to have been contacted by the committee are either through folks close to the candidate and in one case, you!  The freaking list of candidates hasn't been released! [/quote] It looks as if you are not indeed not Mr. Guillory.  But that doesn't let him off of the hook.  You see, this just means that he is blabbing communications that he has had regarding the input the he supposedly sought.  Now, I will not profess loss of any confidentiality because I myself have discussed our conversations.  But the fact that he doesn't take his role seriously enough and is as unprofessional a manner to proceed as if he did author those words.  I do await to see if he does support Cornel Thompson as he has professed or whether he does indeed really favor Verrill Young for the job (as I understand he is telling others) and is just telling folks that he is supporting Cornel Thompson and will hide behind a secret vote.  Sadly, we will probably never find out.
