They also have 5 kids on defense this year with D-1 offers already.. WO-S will kick butt this year trust me
They might, all the way up until they play La Marque. :D
You mean the same La Marque that WO-S beat 10-6 the last time they played them? -

I'm not getting into this other than ..... GO BOBCATS! YOLO!!
As of a few weeks ago, Coach Finney was still in the process of completing his staff. He also said he was still getting to really know the players, but his response to the preview questionnaire indicated that he was well on his way to accomplishing that.

And since WWE is a popular flavor on this thread, let me oblidge: And that's the bottom line! 'Cause WOSgrad said so! Good day gentlemen!
WOSgrad I have and will follow all rules on this forum. Been on here for years posting. I have taken alot of heat over the years for the passion I have for my team. I figured you had seen me take it many times. I pick back often and dish it out, like you said. WOSgrad you are a partial administrator and you mingle with us regular threaders to much. You are very biased and at times you are very unprofessional. I will say your football knowledge is great, you have been very helpful at times. People are reading your statements, remember you represent SETXsports. I feel like my posts are good when regarding my team and very passionate.
You have not taken heat for support of your team, you have taken heat because you have decided to belittle those (much like you did earlier in this thread) who wish to disagree with you on the current state of the Hull-Daisetta football team. However, as most of those appeared to be back and forth have been between rival teams, I never intervened.....have I? No, I intervened one time when you decided to thumb your nose at a local high school coach who noted an objection to a word that you used and did so in an manner, at least initially, that is far more inocuous than normal for me. And in response, the person who was two days ago, on this very thread, called one member a "TARD" and suggested that another seek "scrapbooking message boards" is going to lecture me about professionalism? You funny! Biased? How so? Against Hull-Daisetta? If that were the case and I was an "unprofessional" as you claim, you'd been banned a long time ago. The fact of the matter is that I, to the extent I have contact with him, I get along great with Coach Finney, whom I happen to agree will be a great asset for Hull-Daisetta. For that matter, I enjoy a good relationship with Coach Slack and Coach Barbay and did all the time they were at H-D. Biased in favor of West Orange-Stark? Guilty as charged. We all have our biases on here, that's what kind of make things fun. But I have gotten rid of Mustang supporters who violated rules. When I come on this board telling about rules violations, I represent one entity, SETXsports.com, and do so enforcing the rules as set out by the owner of this board. That you should have no doubt about.

Go back to where ever you came from and stay there.
Not smokin a thang!!! Let me give you a short history lesson on what Finney did here. Prior to his arriving Maud was the laughing stock of northeast tx. football. Three years prior to his arrival we won a total of 4 games (one being a forfeit). Basketball same, track was even worse. Four years that Finney was here we lost one district game...ONE...four disrict championships, deep playoff runs two of those years...basketball made the playoffs for the first time in decades (and won a game), track was even more dramatic two district championships 2nd other two years, area champions two years baseball deep playoff runs every year...exceptional athletes? NO average players that bought into an off season program that made them faster, quicker and much stronger...the same thing will happen there if the kids will listen and buy in to the program...the only thing that will be "smoaked" is HD's opponents!!! @mr WSGrad-Calling people "fools" is frowned on in the Bible...just sayin. However i will be disappointed if we go FBS and go 5-7, 4-8, or 3-9 every year.
Strongly agree with this. I think Lamar would better benefit from being an FCS powerhouse as opposed to suddenly moving to FBS "because its the cool thing to do" right now." lamar is not prepared to make such a drastic move Imo. GOOD LUCK.
That is your opinion pal. Sorry we let you done killer. Can't be good every year. ;D Guess your an expert on what we got here in talent. [glow=red,2,300]What a TARD! Not even good enough for the "RE" part! [/glow]Hope your little team is a success. lol. Love the H-D haters, they all can't help but watch us. lol 8)
Really, was the comment necessary? Every year I have coached, I have had a kid with special needs on the team(one kid was at HD). To make a joke in such a way is totally unwarranted and uncalled for. I admit to using the word, but feel bad after saying it. It is one of those things that I work on not saying. The kids that I have had have a special place in my heart, because I learn more from them about people than the "non" special needs people at times. But for you to make such a "joking" comment is totally insensitive.
Sorry bro, this ain't the life time channel. If your that sensitive, the world is gonna eat you alive. In no way was I making fun of a special needs kid. I could have called him alot worse names, but I like TARD. Maybe you should visit some scrapbooking message boards.
It might be a good time to remind you about Rule No. 4 down in the forum rules section: "4) Keep it civil! You can make your point much more attractive to others by remaining calm and intelligent. You will be banned for flaming or attacking another member!! We will not tolerate abuse upon another member." Now, I like shermdog, have used the word in question which is probably why I didn't send some sort of rebuke in the first place. However, I do know of folks here that have relatives that are special needs and, like shermdog, have had the opportunity to work with special needs kids and could see where they would find the word usage offensive. But to use the tone you did when shermdog, a high school coach whom from personal experience I know to have contributed far more to this SETX community, both sports and otherwise, is not acceptable. For that matter, it is not acceptable with regard to anyone. I appreciate your love of school, that is certainly encouraged here. But there are certainly more civil ways of doing that than you have done here. Please be mindful of that in your posts in the future. And shermdog, my apologies.
What are you talking about? Hell Tennis has expectations! lol ::)
Coaches can not legally require a player to participate in summer workouts, but you can bet your sweet bippy that they expect them to be there and WILL hold them accountable for not being there.

Very interesting. So they can be held, can be coach led, must be only strength and conditioning, and cannot exclude an athlete from participation in the fall if they don't attend. Although, the coach doesn't have to play those athletes that do miss, that's his decision. Thanks for the information Grad....you are very wise!
Well, I certainly see the room for, for lack of a better word, abuse in these rules and the mandatory, non mandatory workouts. But as a coach, who are you more likely to place higher on the depth chart, someone you have witnessed working during the summer in front of your eyes or someone whose work during the same period that you are unsure about? Of course, most coaches have ways seeing pretty early in preseason workouts who has been working and who has not. For example Coach Thompson over at WO-S says that the now infamous Mustang Mile is to find out who has been staying in shape during the summer and who had been "sitting on the couch, eating moonpies and drinking yoohoos."
I am good with that list of schools for football. I will compile a list of schools for us to cover in basketball. I will be doing Silsbee broadcasts again and will do a weekly preview show but may look into doing shows from other venues. I spoke with Rodney Saveat, BISD AD and he is on board with us broadcasting again next year. I would like for us to do a scoreboard show but understand that we need others to pull it off. I spoke with Jordan and he has someone lined up possibly to sell advertising for the site and broadcasts. He will let us know real soon on that subject. Other issues: Time to eliminate some mods and add an admin. My choice for admin is PhatMack. As for the what mods to eliminate, Todd made a list a while back and we should take a look at that list.
Cool, on getting the guy to sell sponsorship because Jordan indicated to me a couple of weeks ago that we are going to need probably for another server upgrade as we were crashing the other one quite regularly during the end of football season and had some during basketball season. Plus Jordan had looked at this cool platform. As to new admins, I concur with the addition of PhatMack, if we decide to expand the number of admins and that there may need to be a changing of some of the guard on the mods. As for the basketball list, looks good to me. Although I wish there was a way that we could convince the schools in the 1A-II district to be a little more forthcoming with their scores
