What's the excuses gonna be when Dayton beats Crosby
WOSgrad replied to Bronco94's topic in High School Football
Bullies, huh? I just asked a question and asked for an answer and an answer would have ended What I was supplied with were insults, histrionics and finally a veiled threat of violence which if posted against anybody else would have meant immediate dismissal but I am not so heavy handed that I'll punish in a thread which I am involved as a regular poster, not a staff member. And finally an answer. So I am done. Any point that was proven here was not by me, but by the responses, yet not answers to one simple question. -

If you didn't want the wager, all you had to say was no. -

When I ask a question, I don't deal in "hints" or "inferences." That leaves wiggle room for the person that I ask a question of and the use of those usually indicates evasion. You can insult me 'til the cows some home. The only was you will end this, and believe it or not, the extension of this discussion has been caused solely by you, is to answer the question. Do you accept the wager or not? I doubt that it will end anytime soon as I am sure that you will again come up with some sort of remark that you claim to be incredibly witty to try and insult me further. But you should know that the truth is that I am too darned dumb to be offended. -
Well, I think most, if not all, would pale to Tyler in comparison. However, for Brown to put together a string of games as he had, regardless of opponent, is certainly an impressive feat and he should have some fun this weekend against H-F. However, at this point, the defense that might be his toughest test is right now focused on birds, no cats.

You know, the question is not that hard, Do you accept the wager or not? -
Well, while I think boasting should have some sensible limitation I can't say I blame them for trying to show confidence going into Friday's game. I would think less of Coach Sloan if he went on area wide television and stated that he thought WO-S was gonna kick their butts. Anyway, WO-S showed how they handle those that wish to boast too much.

Prairie View A&M Stadium for playoff venue
WOSgrad replied to bhsfan's topic in High School Football
After seeing parts of a game played there I believe was this weekend, it certainly appears to be a nice venue which should be considered. I guess it just depends what Prairie View A&M wishes to charge for playing a game there. -

There is certainly a lot of confidence on your part in posting this thread and I like a confident person. And I am going to give you an opportunity to further demonstrate that confidence. As it appears that one of the major targets of your ire is my good buddy and fellow admin, AggiesAreWe, I could think of no better way to put the confidence of both of you to the test with a wager that will cost neither of you any money, yet deals with an issue that you have both of you seem to be at complete loggerheads about: If the Dayton varsity defeats the Crosby varsity, you will not only be allowed to continue your weekly posting of Dayton JV prediction threads, but I will instruct the SETXsports.com staff, including AggiesAreWe, to delete any posts even inferring criticism of the inclusion of a JV prediction thread in the forum. However, if the Crosby varsity defeats the Dayton varsity, then you will be prohibited from posting any JV prediction threads for the rest of the season. What say you AggiesAreWe? What say you Broncos84? Do we have a working wager? -
My apologies to Navasota and Silsbee fans, I had fully intended to include them in this Week's pick 'ems and by complete senior moment on my part, I overlooked them.

Well, the general answer is that district numbers are a lot more sacred to local fans than the UIL. Specifically, in 4A, DII, Region III there was a quite a bit of a shakeup. All of the teams of former district 10-4A-II left the division completely, either (higher as HISD teams moved to DI) or lower (La Marque moved to 3A, DI). to even things out, the UIL moved Connally, Fairfield, Lorena, Mexia, Salado and Robinson into Region III and put them into a district. Since the UIL wants to have the district playoff teams play the district closest to them (hence the term bi-district), they have to play with the district numbers to have that happen so that teams like WO-S and Liberty would not have to travel as for their first round playoff. Had they just given this new district the old 10-4A-II district designation, those two teams, located in Region III's eastern most district would have had to play the teams in the western most district.
