High School soccer is kicking off for SETX with the Kelly Mens JV, Varsity, and the womens team travelling to Tomball to play Concordia Lutheran. Shark correct me if i'm wrong. Good luck to the players and coaches!

I left the Kelly/ PNG game with two minutes left and it was 2-0 Kelly. Both teams moved the ball well, PNG did so in the second half. Good game from both teams, looking forward to seeing other local teams play.

As a former Kelly player, I don't think the private schools would like that too much. I'm not that educated on the caliber of the local 3a (which Kelly would be in) schools from last season or the upcoming season but whenever I played the gap in talent and competition was to large between kelly and the other 3a schools for this to be a good idea. I'd rather have a very competitive, fast-paced game watched by 20 people than a lopsided game watched by 200.

in my opinion the top two goalies in setx are Nathan Stockie of Kelly and Sam Gurski of West Brook

Dogs moved the ball around well tonight.  It will be a freak event for any team in district to score against this "D" and goalie.  There are moments when this team looks simply brilliant!

I would just like to point out that the "freak event" you are talking about has already happened. LCM scored on Nederland, so unless that was an own goal, it looks like feaky things are happening in your district.

I've watched both play and in my opinion i think LCM has the best chance of taking this district. With more of a scoring threat in the front and more well rounded offense, being able to both control AND play the long ball with the use of their athletes. They have good tempo and play good soccer. A few players that have a dirty streak but what team doesn't. LCM out front, nederland, then surprisingly i put ozen third. Criticize if you must but that's my top 3, for THIS district at least 

While being able to "play" the long ball is a technique, it is not a district winning attack. It helps out in a rough spot but should never be a main part of any good team or coaches game plan. I have not seen LCM or Central play so i will not count either team out but the skill and ability of Nederland is very good and enough to take a district in our area. Although i will say that from what i hear the improvement of LCM is incredible and i would love to watch them play soccer. As for central, i have always rooted for them. I played club with a lot of there players and i think they are a good bunch of soccer players. Good luck to everyone, in this district and out. I just hope that any SETX team will make a deep playoff run this year and continue to improve.

This is ridiculous. Your system (Bon) obviously works, you shouldnt have to defend yourself. The people who know soccer will write ignorant comments off. It's different if someone comes to your defense but continuing a conversation, yourself, about soccer with someone who has admitted that he/she doesnt know much about the game and using somewhat instigatory (think i just made that word up) dialogue kind of lowers a persons moral fiber in my book and im sure  a few other people feel the same way. There comes a time when you should stop. And this is my time... Good luck with the tournament and the rest of the year, yall are going to do great. I hope you make it deep in the play-offs.

I actually cant wait to see Kelly and Nederland play on Feb. 3. It should be a great game, if both teams come out to play.

Joe Fontana played some college ball i can't remember where though. Maybe somewhere in Colorado, or maybe i just made that location up. And i think that Joseph Eades(Not 100% on that name) plays at Lon Morris, once again im not completely sure though. And isnt the younger Greenway committed to play at a school in Mississippi?

Yes, well, like I said, I don't follow the private schools that much.  For what i is owrth, however, I do know some parents of the St. Agnes team, and I think that you have grossly overstated the make up of the team.  But, hey, if that makes you feel better.

You are ridiculous, you did this last year. All you want to do is upset people. Please im sure most everyone know you bias against Kelly and Golden Triangle soccer and sports in general, (if you dont look at his posts from his past(assuming this is a he)) PLease be mature, im asking you nicely, or find a forum that has to do more with friendswood sports.

It takes more than one year for a team to grow together and be succesful without individual talent. For example Kelly was so good last year bc we played together for at least four years most of us for longer. also we had loads of inividual talent.. And i agree with aries , vidor will be good also. the nederland/vidor game should be a fun game to watch for soccer fans

im not sure i understand your reasoning. i dont think west brook will be any better(or worse) as a team, they may have a better record but as you said its because of a weaker district.

I would put my money on nederland. Last year they were loaded with young talent.

i wouldnt say by far. lcm tied them, vidor almost beat them, nederland i heard out played them just couldnt finish, and i think they were beaten by PA mermorial i believe. Yes they one district, they are good, but not by far the top of the class.

It's according to what your definition of by far is.  They finished their district campaign one point short of perfection while staying 8 points clear of second.  That's pretty dominating.  They had the top goals for / goals against average in our district.  That's pretty good. 

The "almost beat them" and "out played them but couldn't finish" excuses don't float in soccer.  Moral victories are for losers, not champions.

I think you should judge a team by how they finish, not how they began.  I think I know where I'd put my money if PAM and the Lumberheads played at the end of their seasons. 

I would have loved to have seen a full strength Kelly team play Lumberton mid-season.  I think that would have been the "Area Championship".

I agree with what you have said totally, even though i know i have been guilty of saying it was a "close game" and the "team was really good"...however for the "area championship" i really dont think you should throw your nederland team out of the window, because they did beat kelly and when we played yall looked very good, so i personally would like to see all three of the mentioned teams play at full strength. i think, as a retired high school player, they would be very fun games
