1. Paulino was a good player at Texas during their Final Four run, and the years after.  I always kind of thought that he was TJ Ford's brains.    ;D
2. Just rumors, but I've heard that there are a couple of smaller (D1) schools out West interested in him as a head coach, and Marquette as an assistant.  I think it depends on what he wants to do.
3. I like this from Seltzer's Indiana profile: Seltzer, who flourishes in the role of player development, was selected as one of four court coaches for USA Basketball national team trials in July 2004. In that role he was responsible for conducting drills, coaching scrimmages and working with players in East Rutherford, N.J., who vied for spots on the 2004 USA World Championship For Young Men Qualifying Team. The eventual 12-man team later won the gold medal by going 5-0 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Team USA tends to get some really good coaches.
4. My thoughts: Pat Knight - Not a good idea, no evidence that he can coach other than his last name. Terry Evans - Great choice, if not for my personal like for Skelton, he would probably be my first choice. Alvin Brooks - The only one I'm not sure about.  His record at Houston wasn't good, but he has a lot of quality experience since then.  Could be good, could be bad. Matt Cross - I think he's a great coach, but it's probably too much, too soon.  Would like to see him move up to either a D1 assistant job or a D2 head coaching job first.  If he had 5 years more experience, I'd be all for it. Tom Abatemarco - Worst choice of the bunch.  A proven loser who left Lamar after his only good year last time.

He's been a sucessful coach at the Juco level, he was a good assistant here, he brought in most of the good players that Lamar has had over the past 5 years. I was worried that he wouldn't want the job because of his relationship with Roc, but since he's applied, I think it should be his job.
Support skelton all you want but saying that he brought most of the good players in over the last 5 years is not why we should hire him because there werent that many that good and the records prove it.
Lamar Sanders, Jay Nabors, Currye Todd...All hard workers who had they been a few inches taller would have been at a high major. All great character guys and team leaders as well as fan favorites because they recognized their roles in the LU community. All Skelton recruits from his NW Miss days. Been told by players that he ran that offense when he was here. Those were the only successful teams under the Roc regime. The guy breeds success wherever he goes.
Kenny Dawkins was Skelton's guy, too.  Played Juco in Arizona, but he's from the same part of Mississippi as Skelton.  A team full of players like that would dominate the Southland.

7. One of the Sutton kids is a great basketball coach, but unfortunately, it's not Sean.  He took the OSU team from National Championship contenders to irrelevant in the Big 12 in just a couple of years.  He's a better coach than Pat Knight, but I think Lamar can do better, if they look at coaching records instead of last names.
8.
Hopefully a coach with passion for the game AND his players. Players who will follow their coach through heck if need be. Hmm?
Tidwell can't hire himself, can he?  ???
9. So I'm thinking of going to the North Dakota game.  Crazy, I know.  I've been accused of worse.  I'm living and working in Canada temporarily, and it looks like all of my scheduled trips home (paid for by the company) are going to fall on Lamar road games.  I can fly myself to Winnepeg (3 hours from Grand Forks) much cheaper than I can fly myself back home. So, I know that we have a lot of FCS fans posting here now.  Has anyone made it to a game there?  How are the games there?  Is it worth the trip?  How would I be treated by the UND fans?
10. Lamar won the second half.  Time just ran out before they could complete to comeback.  The run defense made some really nice adjustments.  Defensive End Dickson is a beast, and was a huge part of that run defense.  On McNeese's game-clinching first down run, he manhandled the tackle, got too far downfield, ran down the running back and made the tackle. The other end is really good, too, but didn't catch a number, 50-something.
11.
TD lamar lost audio dont know how they got down field
Long pass to Prejean.  Out at the 2.  Fumbled snap, and lost 3.  Touchdown pass to the corner.
12. You can definitely hear the Lamar fans there.  They've made a great showing.
13.
Who did Bevil throw it to
Josh Powdrill
14.
yeah lu 73 yrd pass and run!
Bevil probably threw it 45 yards in the air while scrambling.  That was a fine piece of quarterbacking.
15. My thoughts about the first half:  Lamar's pass-blocking is very good, and Bevil has a great arm.  He's made a couple of dumb throws when he should scramble, but he's generally done well.  The running game needs some serious work, and it needs to start at the line of scrimmage.  On defense, the pass rush is pretty good, and coverage isn't bad.  But McNeese is getting big push on running plays, and Lamar's linebackers don't seem to be reading it well.  Tackling hasn't been very good, and that's what's led to the big runs.  The McNeese fumbles were all caused by big hits from Lamar, so they have the speed and strength, but they really need to work on their tackling. I'd say that Lamar's best player on offense is Bevil, and their best player on defense is linebacker Asim Hicks. Overall, it's a good first half after a 21-year lay off.
16.
You would think this game would be on tv....  Are they gonna show it Later?
I'm watching it on McNeeseSports.com.  It requires an $8 membership, but it's worth it to me.
17. Stroud is tied for 14th and 6 strokes back.  He's playing great golf right now.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him win a tournament soon.
18. Does anyone know if the games will be played on KLVI's website?  This will be really important to me for the first half of football season.
19. Yeah, he's tied for 10th right now, and 2 strokes off the lead.  Without checking, I'd think that this is his best start all year.
20. Maybe I shouldn't have posted anything.  Not so hot on Sunday.  His first day over par, and there were a lot of 64's and 65's to pass him.
21. Chris Stroud is 13th through 57 right now, and it seems that he started really well today.  He's within relatively easy reach of a top-10 finish. Links: ] and scorecard
22. Chris followed up a 77 yesterday with a good 72 today.  That puts him at 7-over and just making the cut.  Unless a lot more of the afternoon start players play under par, Chris is in good shape to play tomorrow.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't this be his first time to make a cut in a Major?
23. Yes they do.  The campus master plan is the physical change part of that plan, and it has been published for 6 years.  Here is the athletic portion of that: [Hidden Content]
24. Slow start for the Lady Cards, but not for the fans.  They came to dance.  They are really loud and encouraging.  Good job, guys.  You've already gotten into West Virginia's heads.  Now let's hope Lamar can feed off you.
25. I'm going! I have weekend plans in Galveston, but they'll be put off for a few hours. With some luck, we'll get to watch the Lady Cards cut down another set of nets. That be a great way to start the weekend.
