  1. really? something that has been attempted and shot down for over 10 years vs something thats been an option for any 4A or 5A school for years. I feel your comparison.
  2. it was brought up numerous times but if the AD/HC doesnt want one.....it doesnt happen.
  3. Coach Faircloth will be presenting it to the PNGISD board on Tuesday April 14th and barring something unforeseen it should be approved at that meeting. This will be an athletic booster club that is similar to what other districts in the area currently have that will benefit every athletic sport within the PNGISD. Keep in mind there are a handful of great folks that helped get this thing started and have most of the necessary paperwork, applications, etc all in place so moving forward shouldn't be a slow process. So everyone that's been wanting to help currently and in the past will have that opportunity in the very near future. More info as it becomes available. Scalp'Em Indians.
  4. Watched him play. Sorry...........just not true! then you're blind. Ask anyone that knows and they'll tell you how good Joel was. Sorry that dreaming of being a fighter pilot was a little more impt to someone than playing basketball in college. You show your age not knowing who he is. Also IMO its pretty pathetic that a moderator of this site to think its such a joke for someone to list a player that did have the credentials to be considered.
  5. Stud from PNG's glory years. Scalp'em & Hook'em Tommy! RIP [Hidden Content]
  6. this. and the money was the cherry on top.
  7. give the guy a chance to do things on his own. Its obvious the kids like him, he loves Port Arthur, and hes a great guy. I for one hope he succeeds.
  8. chance to coach good athletes and live near the lakes= good job.
  9. no names were released but unofficially: Cobb, Riley Burnett: retired Welch, Broussard: let go Smith, Wallace: reassigned again, this is unofficial and names were not released at the meeting. This is just second hand info that has been spoken around town. If incorrect I apologize to the coaches.
  10. 1. Board approved $23,100 in money for technology upgrades to the field house. Included was new video editing equipment that can be used to study game film or make highlight videos for college recruiters, 2 new laptops, and a server for the field house. Coach said that 3 years of game film would be loaded onto these servers as soon as they are installed. 2. Board approved adding two new middle school coaching positions for PNMS and GMS to bring their staff totals to 4 instead of 3 and they would start at the middle schools next year. Two varsity coaches were let go, 2 reassigned to middle schools, and 2 retired. 3. The board approved coach bringing in 4 new football coaches that would teach at the HS and coach on the varsity staff. They would begin as soon as possible. 4. Board approved the hiring of a full time athletic dept secretary. Other notes: Board questioned Faircloth about the 7th grade teams playing real games if coaches were added. He responded with its not about the coaching its about having enough local teams to compete against. Said there were 5 local schools with teams and if the UIL would allow PNMS and GMS to play each other 2 times, the 7th graders could play a 7 game season. Coach also mentioned that EVERY 7th, 8th or 9th grader that was on the football team would get to play in EVERY game. That those are "developmental years" and all the kids should get a chance. Also said he and the varsity staff would be involved with the middle school coaching.
  11. Uh, Neumann was an asst. coach at PNG when he was hired. He hasn't been to shabby so far. Maybe I'm wrong, but I seem to remember him as PNG's OC before leaving for NED. And before that, he was at TJ. Am I off base here? If so, enlighten me. +1 Neuman's local gig was an asst. under Mike Owens at TJ.
  12. bingo. and PAM gets its fair share of coverage in the PA News.
  13. met him and his wife at the meeting and came away really impressed. Hes ready to go to work and the kids should expect to work hard. He also said he hoped to be here for a very long time with his kids going through the school district. I cant wait until football season.
  14. thats the breaks. WO-S was in the hundreds while PNG, Ned, Central were all around 1500. If 5A's a problem then make a 6A or Super 5A and cap it at a higher number but this idea is BS, especially for the local teams that would get stuck playing all their district games against teams they've never heard of.
  15. just add to the long list of dumb UIL ideas. It all started with this D1 & D2 crap and now they are taking it to another level. Explain how its fair that Beaumont Central should have to be in that BS district just because they have a handful more students than most of the schools in the D2 district? they are all 4A, thats the breaks. WO-S never had a problem winning while being the smallest school in 20-4A and they got moved down when the numbers got too low. 1 division per classification and 2 teams make the playoffs from each district. Align the districts according to location and stop all this horsecrap.
  16. Every other coach I saw at the game tonight and on TV wore "suits & sneakers" in support of Coaches V Cancer this week. Roc was the only one not wearing them. Im sure theres probably a reason but it made me curious.
  17. Learning a complex offensive scheme will be more of a challenge than worrying about the talent. As far as Mid County did you attend the PNG - Nederland Freshman game this past season? ;D I was there, Nederland had like 300 yards of penalties, the best team don't always win, that was the case that night. The Nederland freshman class was the most talented group of freshman I saw play last year. Nederland had 5 sophs starting on varsity last year, they have some of their most talent laden classes coming through since Neumann has been there. The CO group hasn't lost in 3 years... we'll just play the games and find out. Typical statement, we've heard this EXCUSE before. We admit it, we have never beat Nederland because we were better than them. Even though the record over time is in our favor 47 -31 -7. All 47 of those wins was because of the officials(bad calls) or ya'll had some of your players injured.Ya'll were better and should have won all 47 of those games. We know!!!!!!!!!!!!WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!! A program on the brink of extinction. Who was on "the brink of extinction??"
  18. great video but the guy at the beginning and the end isnt Faircloth. Its Permians Asst. HC and O-Line coach Ted Willmann.
