First of all, there is no rule in UIL that has a player to be suspended for the next game after being ejected from the previous game. That is only for coaches. Second, Hardin-Jefferson's next game isn't a playoff game. It's a warm up game against PNG.
Oh so I guess it's ok since it a warm up game.. :D :D :D  Where there's a will there's a way.
 2.
The HJ player in question is eligible and that was never a question!!!!   And it was requested by TASO, so they could view it!!! ;) ;)
Partial borrowed quote from SN -- "Are you suggesting that any type of behavior/conduct is acceptable just as long as..." you just get served with two techs and ejected and then get to come back the next game (which also happens to be a playoff game)?  No punishment other than the ejection...i guess  ::)
 3.
Not according to me......according to the video proof that has been turned over to the TASO Chapter.
Maybe I should have said according to what you said here.  And people talk about HF 'whining'...why is this video being turned over to TASO?  Oh maybe because HJ is going to the playoffs and they gotta get their "best player" eligible for the first playoff game because you know one player does make the whole team.  HJ should be able to win (like last night) without that one player right ???  Let me know if sending this video to TASO makes a difference because I have a lot of video footage of a lot of bad calls made this year and not just bad calls made against HF.  :D
 4.
What!!! Mamma got juice and a phone. ;D
EC--I wanted MGJ to keep me updated by texting me...I was coaching a Lil Dribblers game and had my phone in hand but "flew" to HJ in time enough to catch the game after all...thanks to Senior Night!  :)
 6.
The real question should be why with 3:38 left in the game and trailing HJ by 15 did the HF coach unload the bench?  Gave up with 3:38 left in the game.....don't get that!!!!
NOW YOU FINALLY SEE THE LIGHT!!! LOL...this is what we've been talking about all season...you said the magic words "Gave up"...that's what this coach does.  He has been doing it all season and IMO if you're gonna do that you're not a coach.  3:38 is a lot of time and trailing by 15 is not a blow-out with that kind of time left.  My question to you is: What gave YOU (and anyone else who want to answer)the indication that he had given up?  I'm really interested to see the answers I get from this question.
 7.
An HJ player......here is how the sequence went down:  After HF scored a bucket a HF player pushed a HJ player in the back, the HJ player respond by pushing back......first tech called.  Then the two players (oe from HF and one from HJ bowed up to each other and 2nd tech called only on HJ player.  All happened within 5 seconds of each other.  It was all right in front of both benches.  Funny thing was that the HF players were laughing about it like it was planned or something.  Regardless the HJ player was removed from the game and from the gym.  He had to sit in locker room the rest of the game.  Was handled very poorly by officials IMO!!!!
LAZEEK - I can't say your whole account of how it went down is not correct because I can't say that I saw the HF player push the HJ player in the back first (and of all times this was the first game that I wasn't videoing so I can't go back and watch it or believe me I would).  From there I can say that your replay of the situation is correct because I saw all of that up until you say the HF players were laughing about it like it was planned or something....really....I think not.  The same HJ player involved in this situation displayed bad sportsmanship the whole time he was in the game and when we played a few weeks ago at HF gym he did the same.  IMO it was handled very well by the officials.  The officials did well last night also with allowing the coaches (both HF and HJ) voice their opinions about some of the calls...there were a couple of times (once HF and once HJ) where I would have 'T' them up.
 8. Soooo upset I'm gonna miss this one tonight...gotta coach Primary Little Dribbler game at 7  :-\ and  :(.  Was looking forward to seeing all of you and being able to say "I was there for Dove's big debut"  :).  Hoping it turns out to be a good game...Good luck to all!  Mamma - please keep me posted by text--phone will be in hand!
 9.
Little Dribblers? Come on... ::)
I didn't just mention Little Dribblers Bobcat....but the reason I did mention it was because someone did mention that you have to have a solid foundation and because bmrm stated he wasn't familiar with HF's younger divisions...so first and foremost Little Dribblers is important because that's where fundamentals are introduced and that's where that solid foundation gets started.
 10. Well bmrm - I was taught not to assume so I won't make an assumption of HF's future...thank you for not criticizing or downplaying the HF program because there is a lot of that that goes on already  :)  I can say (because I am familiar with and involved with HF's younger divisions and have been for 16+ years) that there is potential as there always has been.  Some parents (who don't get paid to coach and who take more interest in the kids than it just being a "job") are (as relates to horses) raising, feeding, caring for and training them but in the end it's up to the 'rider' to really 'ride' that horse to the finish line...in this case lil dribblers can go to National Tournaments and play great and come in close to the top (no we haven't won a National Title but everyone doesn't make it to Nationals either so just getting there is an accomplishment), our Middle School teams can be District Champs and even Co-Champs and our Freshman and JV teams can finish seasons in one of the top three spots in the district but when we get to the important race...Varsity...all of the pieces MUST come together....so to sum it up...from what i've seen in my years...until some changes are made and people in high places take basketball more seriously at HF...as much as I hate to say it HF's future doesn't look to promising...signed again by Keeping Hope Alive  :)
 11. Can someone say FUNDAMENTALS?  Coaching staffs should demand it and I'm not just talking free throw shooting but in all aspects of the game.
 12. Dove - in all seriousness, once your boys have graduated, does HF have a horse in the district 21-3A race?
bmrm - not answering for Dove just giving you my two cents - It's not all about Dove's boys.  As I see it when any season starts (no matter what the sport) every team has a horse in the race BUT it's about how you raise, feed, care for, train and ride that horse that determines where you finish in the race....been there done that too (I'm a COWGIRL too - maybe why I LOVE LONGHORNS)  ;D
 13. Congrats Silsbee - You have the pieces of the puzzle and I admire all the pieces for being able to keep it together during Coach T's absence. Good luck on the rest of your season.  :)
 14.

Should be about winning, scoring isn't the whole deal.  Its like I ask my kids after the game, how many rebounds, to's, assists?  Too many kids/parents today worried about the name in the paper for scoring.  Just saying going at it all wrong.  I agree with the frustration of not being able to do what you need to do to get the program better, but basing everything around one kid scoring the most points is not right.  Would you be able to quote how many pts his man had while he was in, how many to's etc? Not defending the coach just can't always be about pts.  If you lost by 40 doesn't matter if he had 12 or 20, was not a game changer.
I interpret their comments in a different way.  I dont think they care who the leading scorer is.  I think they dont understand the logic of benching the most productive offensive player in that particular game for 75% of the time.  Someone correct me if I am wrong.
Nash - THANK YOU for your interpretation!  No need in ANYONE correcting you because you're exactly right... Now here I go - gotta defend my HORNS!  :) Wildcatter - some of your points are right also - YES it should be about winning but in order to win you MUST score and in order to score you MUST rebound and in order to score you MUST NOT have many turn-overs and in order to score you MUST have assists.  Believe me it's not about getting any ONE particular player's name in the paper but instead HF LONGHORNS as a team.  You did forget to mention a few other things also - in order to WIN you must play good defense, put in the right combinations and make smart substitutions...I hate saying it over and over but AGAIN - there are many pieces to this puzzle that I call a good basketball program. AAW - Didn't anyone ever tell you "don't believe everything you're told"?  See it to believe it.  The player who ended up being the high scorer has played with the best and ended up the high scorer then also.  He is not a player who should be playing during "garbage time" he should be a starter and even if not a starter he should be coming off the bench wwwwaaaaayyyyy before some others. Bobcat - If you've been around any amount of time you would know that HF DOES have a winning tradition in basketball - that's why your team dislikes HF so much...check past years basketball records from 'lil dribblers (one particular year I remember the "good sportsmanship" one of your lil dribblers teams showed when they walked off the court without doing the end of the game "good game" hand shake because they were upset that an HF lil dribblers team beat them) up through Middle School and even Freshman and JV.  No research needed...changes were made when parents invested TIME in the TALENT beginning in lil dribblers years...this DID start a lot earlier than their freshman or sophomore years...I need a shaking "smiley" cause I feel the need to shake some haters off  :D Alice - the strong foundation is there (see previous comment to Bobcat).
 15. It's too bad some of you obviously don't get it...I feel Dove's pain and it's not just about HIS kids.  He, just as others at HF see the talent that is there and being wasted.  As stated before -- it takes more than one player or coach to compile a successful (and I'm not just talking about being State Champs) team.  The concern is for all of the players who work hard.  The player who came out being the leading scorer for the game played maybe 1.5 quarters....HOW does this make sense and it's not the first time it has happened.  But we know now that it's not about winning or competing...I won't say AGAIN what it's really about  :-X....Signed - Keeping hope alive.
 16.
It was my pleasure meeting several of the HF faithful tonight.........Mammagotjuice, hfmom, mercedes and Bluedove!!!!  I know for a fact that Little Dove is gonna be a special player.  Hoping that his parents find some property in the HJ area soon!!!! ;D ;D ;D Hawks just too deep and more seasoned than the Horns.  Great win for the Hawks after they started off the first 6 minutes of the game with 2 points!!!! :o :o :o
It was a pleasure and fun meeting some of the setxsports.com members (LAZEEK and stevenash).  Thanks to all, who on this thread, gave HF some (a little) credit.  As was stated we know some think we're just whining parents at HF but really we're just trying to get the most out of the talent we have here.  And bullets - I wouldn't have thrown a dictionary at you :D. Round two starts Tuesday!
 17.
Yes, I can speak for myself (though bullets is pretty dead on ;)). I'll be attending my 40th straight state tourney this year. Oh, and HJ is more talented than HF. That may change in the next few years, but as for this year, not close. Also, HF would still lose to HJ with Phil Jackson at the helm. ;)
AAW you must be a Celtic fan!  :D
 18. HF has just as much talent as HJ Definition of IGNORANT 1a : destitute of knowledge or education <an ignorant society>; also : lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified <parents ignorant of modern mathematics> 1b : resulting from or showing lack of knowledge or intelligence <ignorant errors> 2. If the coach would quit coaching like it's little dribblers, HF could handle anyone in the district THIS YEAR Now, could the unlikely happen, and HF somehow upset HJ?  Sure, it's not out of the realm of possibilities.  Is it likely?  Of course not.  Would a different coach make it likely?  Of course not.
bullets - glad to see you use your dictionary, wikipedia and google like I suggested.  Now look up plagiarism.  Glad you know AAW so well to know how many times he's seen these two teams play and how many state tournaments he's seen over his lifetime but that says nothing for you and I think AAW can speak for himself.  Continue on with your definitions but you can't define me.
 19. Let's not forget that no matter how much a coach contacts/solicits college scouts he can't pass the tests needed to get into college nor can he/she keep their grades up in college classes which is also needed to  stay in college and maintain that BIG  :D scholarship they are getting.  Yes, we've had many High School State championship teams from this area but how many of those players have extended their playing careers?  Thank you HF for being an Exemplary school district and preparing our kids for college whether playing sports or not. I love this site setxsports.com but too bad there isn't one for setxGRADES.com because for the majority of the kids they will need the grades to be successful in anything they do.  Even if they do make it to the NBA/NFL/MLB, etc they should know how important it is to understand AT LEAST Math (so that your Accountant/CPA is not stealing their money) and English (so that they can read/comprehend college applications, scholarship agreements, and contracts).
 20.

That is freakin hilarious.....I love it...
And true in a lot of cases ;)
And not true in some cases.  ;)  I do agree it is a funny video but I also know that there are players at HF who work on their weaknesses before practice, after practice, during the summer, at home, attend camps, play AAU, summer ball, work out with strength and conditioning trainers and when they play bad their parents are the hardest on them and not always telling them that they are the best but instead there to support them and provide the tools they need to get better.  Kids these days want the easy way out and for everything to be handed to them and some don't want to work for what they want.
 21. bullets - i'm glad you know how to use the word ignorant and asinine now you just need to learn when to use them.  If you want to throw my words in my face be sure they are the words that come out of my mouth not what you think you read.  "handle HJ" was not what I said.  Keep your dictionary or Wikipedia open and find some more words to throw since that's all you seem to know how to do.  Believe me I am FAR from anything like a Vidor fan and that was expressed in a post you may have read from me in the "Orangefield Tournament Update Thread/Vidor wins tournament!" thread.  It seems you did read it because here it is a month later and you're saying the same thing I said in that post...oh maybe you're throwing my words in my face.   :D :D :D
Funny you should say that Bobcat - HF sure did beat OF (Bobcats) this season without "the best coach in America".  So you think if HF had Phil Jackson  :o they still wouldn't win against HJ?  HF has just as much talent as HJ so yes they could win this game.  And yes, I'm a Laker fan too!

Plus Silsbee missed a bunch of easy shots and bad passes. ;)
Correction Blue - Silsbee was only missing their 2nd best player and their head coach which make up the team!  :)
To be accurate, Silsbee was missing their head coach (Travis Williams), 1 starter (Prentice Lane) and two key reserves (Willie Busby and Jarrian Rhone). Dove was right, Silsbee played poorly. ;)
Sorry you didn't get it AAW but I was quoting a previous statement made by bullets from another thread (minus the "which make up the team" that was my jab).  I know very well who Silsbee was missing.  ;) back at ya

Considering H.F's talent, he is doing the worst job with the most
No, I do not agree. The fact that HF has won 12 or 13 games this season, when they only won about 6 last year, and they already have 1 district win, when they had just the one win all of last year, tells me he is doing a pretty good job. They have definitely improved from last year.
AAW - have you not heard of graduating seniors....this year is no indication of improvement from last year.  Almost every year it's different players but the same coach.  I believe you can credit more wins this year to more talent than in previous years not better coaching....i've watched this same coaching style for five years now.
