  1. I agree. The Montgomery QB had a couple of scrambles for 14-20 yards. But that was it. The Hornet defense knew the game plan. Montgomery is a big play offense, but through 3 Qtrs, they only had 2 plays over 30 yards. They did get a few chunk plays in the 4th Qtr. I don’t know if Huntsville relaxed with the 26-3 lead, but the game got interesting for a bit. TD, onside kick, TD and it was 26-18. The Montgomery receivers did get open a few times, but it did seem mostly like #12 was just throwing it up there. The Hornet pass rush had something to do with that. The Hornet defense is starting to play really well.
  2. Bears turn it over on downs. 1:40 to go
  3. Montgomery 1st down at the Hornet 12. 2:18 to go
  4. Huntsviile answers with a 2 yard TD run. 33-18. 4 minutes to go
  5. Hornets 59 yard TD is called back for a holding penalty.
  6. Montgomery 4 yard TD run. 2 point conversion. 26-18. We got a one score game. Bears with all the momentum right now.
  7. Bears in the red zone. Momentum has shifted.
  8. Bears recover the onsides kick. Not over yet
  9. 41 yard TD pass for Montgomery. 26-10.
  10. Start of 4th Qtr. 26-3. Hornet defense came to play
  11. 22 yard TD pass. 26-3
  12. Montgomery on the board with a 22 yard FG.
  13. FG for the Hornets. 19-0. They had a 1st and goal, but again FG
  14. Halftime 16-0. Hornets pretty well controlled the 1st half. Montgomery had 5 possessions. Did not get a 1st down on the first 4. They did get a 35 yard pass on the 5th drive and reached the red zone, but later fumbled it back to the Hornets. Hornets not letting #12 make any big runs so far. We’ll see what the 2nd half brings.
  15. 18 yard TD pass. 16-0. 2pt conversion failed.
  16. 1st and goal, but Hornets settle for 25 yard FG. 10-0
  17. Hornets on the board first. 10 yard run. 7-0.
  18. Been a little quiet this week. No reports from the Splendora coaches show yet.
  19. Maybe Texas Football will be right after all. Just have to beat Laporte and Angleton.
  20. Just ask Cleveland. They didn’t bring their A game and lost 70-10 to Splendora. You just never know.
  21. Yes, that QB can take off running. The Hornets have seen him and are well aware of that threat. If he runs for 200, it will be an issue.
  22. Orangefield pretty impressive the last 2 weeks. I think they win this one by at least 2 TD’s.
  23. Should be a good one. Dayton is a common opponent and K-Park wins that one. Crosby handled a decent Friendswood team last week. Since Texas Football said Crosby wins this district, I’d probably lean with Crosby.
  24. Not could be. This is the District championship. No one else in this District will beat these two. Woodville is very good, but I’ll have to go with Newton by 10.
