I am only writing this as a fan and not a sports writer/reporter. This is not the views of The Orange Leader. I'm not even working today, it is my day off. I write this as a fan, graduate of PN-G and a resident of Groves. First things, first. Everyone needs to lighten up a bit and put a little faith back into the PNG School Board. All PN-G residents need to remember it was us who voted these people into office now it is time to sit back, trust their decisions and be patient. Lets try to have a little confidence our board will make the right decision on who they hire. Second, why is it so important to have the list of candidates anyways? Is curiosity by us who have no say in who is hired that important? Remember the people who are on that list and what it could mean if their names are thrown out for everyone to see. Many of us go looking for new jobs to better ourselves. Ask yourself, do you always want your current employer to know you applied somewhere else and that you do it on a frequent basis? I understand taxpayers should know what is going on with their elected officials but is curiosity worth putting someone's job on the line? I also realize a coach's life is sometimes an open book and made public almost way too often. They are held to a different standard and that is their choice. Yet a little patience until finalists are revealed and then the names are given will not hurt a single person. If in the end PN-G residents and backers do not agree with the board's decision on who they hire, get out and vote. Remember elected officials, even the ones as high up as the President, work for us - we do not work for them. But we did elect this board so why not trust what they are doing instead of questioning their every move? This is the same board who answered a lot of Indian fans prayers by firing Matt Burnett. So why now bash the people who did your bidding? I honestly hope The Reservation is not in this state of turmoil when the new coach is selected. It is time for PN-G to be the community it is thought to be and will remain to be. We talk about honor and tradition yet none of what I have seen lately represents our past. Mike to answer the first part, there is not a single author because it is meant to be the opinion of The Enterprise. We do the same thing. Yes one person may write the piece yet usually its after talking to several different people and it is written as the opinion of the paper and not one person. It is an editorial opinion over being a news story or someone's column ie. Bob West's column or Norman Chad.

Can someone answer please, could Matt Burnett not have won with all the talent that has been said to be coming up? I'm not being rude or anything, I would really just like the opinion of my fellow Indians.

To me they called some ticky tacks on BC in the first half and then ticky tacks on HJ in the second. I asked a HJ player who was about to check in and was at the scorers table (I dont remember his number, maybe No. 34? I could be wrong. Terrible memory) what was going on with their 3 pointers...He looked up and laughed and said "no clue man. its crazy"

I am asking this as a PNG grad and fan, not as a reporter of a paper. With all this talent you speak of and how great PNG will be, so Matt Burnett could not have won with this talent? He could not have gotten the job done? I remember Burnett winning when the Indians had talent.

As a PNG alumni, I shiver when I see that name every single time.

I have stayed away from this but the one point I want to make is this.... Maybe this program is a way for athletes to be a part of kids lives when parents are not. I know other schools do not do this program and since the new info has been given from the coaches I am still torn on which side of the fence I sit but I will always want the best for the Mustang players and what helps them succeed in every aspect of their lives. That is what the board needs to look at and only decide on which side they truly feel is best for all the kids.

I'm going to go cover a council meeting instead. Not that big of a game for the OL to worry about. LOL yea ok I would like to meet a few of you HJ people who have given our paper alot of great words. I'll be sitting at scorers table and also taking pix from there. Please be sure to stop by and say hello.

Lazeek make sure to go to HJ BC baseball game. I'm already sure I'll be there since it will be a big game. Or better yet remember to check with me. Never know who else is playing that night that I might have to cover but that is always a big game.
