  1. Tiger Stadium in Silsbee. Gotta put in a plug for the small schools that play their playoff games there. Dome and Kyle Field, many memories.
  2. That's what I'm talking about!! I feel a grudge match coming on. Neutral site, Silsbee CC. I'll organize the calcutta and tee time, just let me know.
  3. I'll use this as an example: Silsbee and Bridge City tied for first in district vollyball with identical 13-1 records. Both teams beat each other in the head to head. Now, there is no big school, small school in vollyball, so they will playoff for the #1 seed only. According to district rules, both teams will be considered co-champs and the winner will get the #1 seeding and a bye in the first round.
  4. That has always been the case for district titles. Points only determine the playoff seeding. I have seen trophys in Silsbee's and other schools trophy cases that say co-champs or tri champs for all sports. District committee rules only speak about tie breakers involving playoff seeding or qualifying. It does not speak of district championships. Yes, I have read them.
  5. District championships are not decided by points. Only the playoff seeding would the points determine. You would have tri champs in this scenerio. All three schools would recieve a district championship trophy.
  6. Well, the upgrade at the point guard position obviously will help the improvement of the team. But, I think Custer will have to have some quality minutes to help spell the frontcourt for Lamar. You can only play small for so long. There will be a time in a game where you will need to go inside and Sanders can only do so much, he will need some help. Actually, most of the help will be needed defensively.
  7. Who does? Jdawg, we need to get exclusive rights to be the only webcast of Lamar football games. I'll volunteer to do the play by for nothing. ( kind of like I am doing now for the Tigers )
  8. I would be an eight ticket season ticket holder. My wife assured me of that, being she is an alum. and a former twirler for the band.
  9. Lazeek would say spinks was lucky he didn't play. ;D
  10. Lamar does not need to hire a high school coach to be their head coach. They need an experienced college coach to get the program off the ground. The new head coach can hire a few high school coaches as assistants to help in recruiting. A good college assistant or maybe a head that's looking to get a fresh start somewhere would be the choice for Lamar. My preference, R.C. Slocum, if you can get him off his ranch. I still think he's got the fire to coach again and he does have ties here. I do believe he would only be here for a short time, then hand over the program to one of his hand picked assistants, say a Craig Stump. Pretty obvious the Aggie influence I have here. ;D
  11. You would have tri district champs. Jasper would go Div. I as the big school, WOS would go as the #1 seed in Div. II by way of beating Kirbyville, Kirbyville would be the #2 seed Div. II.
  12. After a big loss to their crosstown rivals, the head coach worked his team over. During practice he was quoted saying, " I am going to work you boys tails off today. When we get through, you boys are going to be so tired, you'll sleep with your hands above the covers tonight"
  13. Those are the current overall records. PNG was 1-2 non district, 4-0 district, therefore 5-2 overall.
  14. Not bad jdawg03. You seem to know a little bit about sports. ;D
  15. Real simple.... ugly Silsbee 49 HJ 0

  18. I agree with all the points made about the Cardinals being young and inexperienced with no depth. But there's a time that the " young and inexperience" excuse can no longer be used. After 9 games( 2 scrimmages included) there should be some growth there. What I have seen is a team progressively getting worse as the season goes on. Yes, maybe the competition has gotten better for BC, but the fact remains, the Cards are just not that good this year. I believe it's more of a lack of talent than anything else. To me, the cycle of lesser talent has hit Bridge City. Most small schools go through it.
  19. Bad night for patitan.
  20. Exactly tigersvoice. What does balla's post have to do with this thread? An article about the Silsbee-WOS game and somehow he/she interprets a Jasper qb getting knocked out of the game by Kirbyville from the article. Balla, you are lost.
  21. Truely amazing. Almost unheard of in a high school game that only 3 penalties were called. Great job by the players, coaches, and more importantly, the OFFICIALS. Like the coach said in the second " Bad News Bears " movie: " Let them play! Let them play! Let them play!"
  22. The Cardinals have given up 209 points in just 4 district games, for an avg. of 52 points a game, with still Kirbyville, HF, and WOS left to play. It's very possible for BC to give up over 350 points in the 7 district games. What's up?
  23. I am going to make a wild guess. The guy holding the trophy is an offensive lineman.
  24. Silsbee not taking advantage of their first half opportunities when they got down to the WOS 2 and 10 yard lines and not coming away with any points just spelled doom for the Tigers. When you play a great team like the Stangs with that great defense, you have to make good on those scoring opportunities, they don't come very often. WOS has definetly been a second half team this year and it showed last night. Mustang defense won that game by just limiting the Silsbee's offense to just 10 offensive plays in the second half. WOS just grounded it out offensively, eating up the clock and wearing down the Tiger defense. The WOS coaching staff made their adjustments at halftime and that was the difference. Silsbee had out played WOS in the first half, out gaining the Stangs 139-102. But not getting but 6 points out of those 4 redzone opportunities in the first half really hurt the Tigers. As long as the WOS defense keeps playing this well, the Mustangs will be making another deep run in the playoffs.
