  1. Life happens. I'll try, hopefully it's good for us...
  2. The Falcons come in at 3-3 overall with a district mark of 2-1. The Timberwolves come in at 1-5 overall with a district mark of 1-2. Falcons in blue pants, white jerseys and blue helmets. Timberwolves first time this year in the maroon pants, maroon jerseys and maroon helmets. Timberwolves homecoming as well...
  3. Well I did forget that. Carry on Raiders. Is Karr back playing?
  4. Can't make it there, one of my kids will be on the field for homecoming activities and plus the wife would have a cow if I went to Pappadeauxs without her...
  5. Not a bad idea, even if for only like the 1st 2 series but they won't do it...
  6. Maybe we can chop it up pregame and at halftime...
  7. Silsbee will play at United November 24th, should e a good one...
  8. I was sending in United's results to someone on here regardless if we won or lost but you can see how that went.
  9. Yea I've been keeping up with him over there. Good dude but wasn't actually a good job to take. I don't know how long they will give him as he is currently 0-16. In fairness to him, they were 0-10 (2016) the year before he arrived but 9-3 in 2015. Go figure. They have 2 teams left on the schedule that only have one win each that he might be able to get his first W over. I actually wouldn't have minded my boys finishing under him here but that's history now. I think he will wind up back in the area here at one of the smaller schools and have some success.
  10. In my opinion, they have a shot this year if they can get on the D2 side of things. With Deer Park struggling and if Channelview losses tonight, the D1 bracket is looking more and more of a reality for the Bruins...
  11. Calpreps predictions... Channelview 21 United 28 Deer Park 28 CE King 42 North Shore 62 Sterling 0 LaPorte 3 West Brook 55
  12. Cal Preps prediction... Timberwolves 28 Falcons 21
  13. Something on that, why is it so hard for the girls volleyball and girls basketball schedules/results to be updated and kept up with on here? Football and boys basketball are kept up and I understand they generate more traffic. All "The Warden" has to do is grant a few people that keep up with the various programs, the access to update the information. I have access to my schools Maxpreps page but can't update information for them on here...
  14. I can't believe these 2 programs couldn't get a game worked out for whatever reason. They don't even play in any of the same tournaments to have a possible chance of playing each other.
  15. Dido, I will be focusing on and covering the United girls program.
  16. I'm guessing the Silsbee vs United game will be Saturday, November 24th @ United high school. The reason I say that is I haven't gotten a copy of the boys schedule yet but I received the girls schedule a couple of days ago for United and it has the girls from Silsbee and United, varsity only, playing that particular Saturday @ 5:30 pm. So I'm guessing the boys will follow at 7 p.m.
  17. I was thinking that after reading the article too...
  18. Hopefully the Varsity gets one tonight... Timberwolves 31, Falcons 22
  19. JV Timberwolves 28 Falcons 6 Timberwolves improve to 6-1, 3-1 in district. Freshmen Falcons 36 Timberwolves 0
  20. Not trying to talk about football too much on a basketball thread but I have to respond. From the outside, you wouldn't know what coaches and what players were from which school. As my old name use to say "Jag Insider", I do. I am and will be one of the biggest supporters of the kids competing as Timberwolves in ALL extracurricular activities. I have attended many volleyball games, all JV and Varsity football games, volunteer on campus when my schedule allows and am preparing to attend as many boys and girls basketball games as possible. The Central and Ozen mentality will die off or at least be hushed in my opinion due to both the girls and boys basketball teams winning games and having some success. When you've won one out of six games, that's not going to help get rid of the mentality that you spoke of. As for coaches trying to establish their program, they should have brought in a neutral outsider to do that, someone that didn't know anyone. Using your words, yes neither team was "world beaters" but SHE interviewed a few coaches that I would consider "world beaters" but decided to go with the "average joe"...
  21. Ha ha. Let me check our family tree and see where the next one will land, whether it be in Kirbyville, Orange, Beaumont or Baytown...
  22. Good question BlkMamba. I'll make some of the bigger games for the boys but I'll be mainly following the girls program due to my invested interest. I can tell you this though, the expectations are higher for the boys basketball program probably more so than any other sports team United will field this year. But like I said above, they went out and got a WINNER for a coach who is going to be over young men from both schools that are use to winning. I don't see the basketball team losing games that they should win. I'm not saying that they are about to win state right out of the gate but you never know, it could happen. They will win 20 plus games a year and have decent success in the playoffs. In football, the people from Central and the North end had higher expectations than what is going on currently by a team that is being led by a former Ozen coach. In basketball, the critics from Ozen and the South have won a state title and are about to be led by a former Central coach who took them to the State tournament and won a title with North Shore. Football could have been the "tie" that binds both of these communities but it has done the exact opposite. The basketball team will do what the football team couldn't do, "unify" the communities and the student body. Everybody loves a winner and winning cures all...
  23. North Shore has scored 55, 58 and 75 points in 3 district games and will score at least 50 on everyone in district play. Hopefully the Sterling kids can at least come out of this game healthy.
