Well the 1st person who was a throwback from Ozen turned it down due to health issues and not having the energy that it would take to pull this off. You'd be correct...

Just got an e-mail from someone and then I backed it up by making a phone call that said that Spring ball will more than likely not happen for United due to uniforms and the logistical nightmare between the 2 campuses. First day of practice/conditioning in that case would be August 6th with the first day of contact being August 10th. They would be able to get in 2 scrimmages before the season opener against Houston St. Pius.

Probably about a 50% you'd be correct...

Spring ball is still going to happen. It's a must. It usually doesn't start until after track season is complete which isn't until the end of April.

What's shady about it? You still have time to go apply if you want to. It will be open until a hire is made...

Found out that the head football coaching job is not officially closed for United. The list that was given out was just the list of qualified applicants at that time of the initial request. And since then a "throwback" has applied and will be interviewing soon...

I don't know what you exactly meant but anyone that is currently at WB will be allowed to finish there. It will be enforced for all incoming freshman...

You know the funny part, a new little league football team was announced recently in Beaumont called the Timberwolves, using the maroon and gold. Its a split from the Bulldogs who were locked in on kids only living in the West End. The team will get it's kids from the Beaumont United living area. If successful and able to survive, it will have kids at an early age wanting to be Timberwolves.

I'd personally prefer a guy with HC experience but this is major to me. 2 kids getting the opportunity to play at the next level from Central this year is totally unacceptable when we were averaging 10+ a year, even if it was at Mom & Pop University.

I don't know what you see there but that isn't happening. Nobody currently employed with BISD will be the head football coach, not at least for the 2018 football season.

Ok, I've been off the site since Friday evening preparing for a fishing tournament and family time. Well I received information during this time away that Wilson has withdrawn from consideration due to his wife not wanting to move from Katy to Beaumont. Prior to me getting this information, and not having much time to do research, I was thinking that he was the best candidate. Guess I got mesmerized by the state championship ring. But after doing some research, I don't know. It's irrelevant at this point.

He is my pick. He started up Rosenberg Lamar Consolidated where he won a state championship in 2007. I wouldn't consider the 5 that haven't been head coaches before because if you are going to do that, you might as well just give it to Nelson or Taylor because at least you know what you are getting. The article says 6 but it's actually 7 that are either currently a head coach or been one in the past. Yes, the original list of applicants was 65. This is the guys who made the cut of either being a Head Coach, OC or DC...

I don't know what Danny's list will consist of that he gets from BISD but I do know that the AD has cut the qualified applicants down to 12 as for what he was looking for and that he started interviewing them yesterday.

Well names of applicants will be posted tomorrow so that will make a little noise...
