1. Giddings hasn't played anyone good. They got spanked in scrimmage against Wimberley and that was the last good team they played. Giddings hasn't lost to Elgin since 2008. Jones couldn't mess up what Fitzhenry left him, even if he tried. Joseph Glenn is the real deal. Jones has both teams praying on the field after the game...something new I noticed. Not sure it's legal (separation of church and state), but more power to him. Fans like it.

2. The problem is that he got rid of every (black) coach on staff.  He got rid of the girls BB coach that went to state last year, the softball coach who is going to 2nd rd of playoffs tonight, head boys track and head girls track.  Marlow (baseball) got reassigned to Golf next year from what I am told by some people I know there. The people here are ticked off and are starting to complain. It isn't like he is bringing in people from the NY Jets.. he is bringing them in from Post.

He has connections with two coaches on staff and one board member. No one can fault him from being recruited by these people. Not my point. The point is that he is ruining winning programs.  3-7 is not good enough, not for Post, and definitely NOT FOR Giddings fans. Hope he rents here. I give him 3 years before he and his people are replaced.  I am told they are going to cancel the game against WO-S for budget reasons, but probably to save face. They will play Burnet in Burnet, Brookshire IN Brookshire, La Vernia at home, etc.

Giddings still has plenty of talent. The class where this falls off is the current 7th grade class.

Ive seen it many times. you get a great coach that has winning and dicipline on their mind and you put them in a very political(little Jimmy) school, and they dont fit. That doesnt mean the coach is bad, he just doent want to be a puppet to parents and over zealous schoolboards. I dont believe in bashing anyone, especially when we dont know the story.

Giddings school board people will have their way with him.  The school board controls everything... they had 3 members on the hiring committee and the final interviews were JUST with the school board. They were looking for someone to fit their agenda. Good luck to him.  I guarantee he will be told to fire the head girls basketball coach.
I wouldnt be surprised

And guess what? The school board has their YES MAN. He told the girls bb coach to resign or he would be reassigned to middle school. All new coaches asked to leave.. way to go Giddings. Girls Bball played in the state final game last year...

I thought I read on The Old Coach that Ferguson from DeLeon was a finalist for Tom Bean
"Anyone hearing any names on these two jobs? I heard that the coach from Deleon was in running for Tom Bean job anyone else hear that? How about S&S, got any names on this one? Hey 4T wildcat you interested in that one?" <-- this was the post

Let me start by saying I have nothing against Coach Morgan - Might be the nicest guy in the world.

Jasper has turned this process into a 3 ring circus again.  The powers at be told others they were the frontrunner and led them to believe the job would be offered to them and then went another direction twice.  People on the committee even went as far as to tell other people outside the district that other people were getting the job and I am not making this stuff up.

I have lost respect for the Jasper powers at be - The people in charge of this from the get go used people to get what they wanted.  Chris Coleman has always had my utmost respect, but this was handled wrong and he knows it.

Fentress, you have been wrapped up in this from the get-go.  I don't think that Jasper really cares what any of us think.

Why don't you explain the proper way to hire a head coach? Would your way involve coercion with ex-school board members and the Superintendent?  People who are used to getting what they want?

Fitzhenry would not be a good fit - of course he is ad where football and baseball both have been successful.  That is kind of an important thing in Jasper.  Still not sure he would be a good fit there.

His program has been one of the winningest in 3A football. Not sure where you base your opinion. One thing is that if he did get the job, that DC would be loooong gooooone. Many coaches could learn a lot from the Giddings program..
9. Well good luck to whomever gets it.  I think the Carthage OC would be a great fit.  What's great about Jasper is that they will hire who is good for the program, and to bring the winning tradition back. The supposed candidates mentioned can get this job with their own merit. Crazy concept, right?

Maybe Jasper can bring the winning tradition back to the entire area. Seems like towns nearby are complacent with not winning, and that isn't what it used to be. Pretty sad. At least Jasper people speak up and that's admirable.

10. Here's what we do know...
It was a gift that Bickham got this job in the first place. Have you looked back to see who applied when he did?  I guess another instance in "it's who you know.."  More times than not, these coaches aren't the right fit, but "fit" the agenda of school board people and supts...

I haven't seen this job posted on thsca, have you? As of five minutes ago it wasn't on there. They know who they want...I would still like JISD to take a chance on some younger applicants..

If it is Alvarez, like what I have been told, why would he leave Kville? Does he know something about what's coming up that we don't?

Whoever gets the job needs to tell the DC to move on. He hasn't been good for any program he has been with...
