  1. That's the way to swing it Eagles!!  Now let's close this thing out!!
  2. If by "the community" you mean BH parents, I understand distancing himself. The suggestions and advice came in abundance, I'm sure. If Gage has any sense he'll disengage from "the community" as well. I expected more from someone with "Moderator" status.
  3. Congrats to Coach Price on his new gig!  He will do well with the athletes at CEK. Now, having said that, let me try to explain Coach Prices departure from BH.  This is from the perspective of a parent who's son played football, baseball, basketball and track for Coach Price and staff from 7th - 10th grades and for Coach Gage and staff in 11th and 12th grades. By the end of his last football season at BH, Coach Price had lost his players.  Not because they weren't winning, but because he had become distant from them.  There was no interaction between Head Coach and his kids, or the community, and it was painfully evident to everyone in the BH program.  He expected winners but didn't inspire kids to win. On the other side of the coin, Coach Gage and his staff brought renewed energy to the program.  They engaged the players and the community.  Coach Gage told me prior to the start of the season two years ago that he couldn't promise that we would win a single game, but he promised that he would LOVE each and every kid on the team as if they were his own.  That's what a parent wants to hear!  The kids drank the koolaid too and have been inspired to do great things. Go Eagles!
  4. Recruiting Coach was Austin Flynn.  QB @ Deer Park then 4 year starter @ Iowa State QB/WR.  Then coached DC @ South Houston for 2 seasons.  Half of Grand View roster is from SE Tx.
  5. Praying for your speedy recovery!  In Jesus's name!  Amen!
  6. I have read a lot of comments about the BH secondary on this thread.  I did some diggin through the stats on this site and found some very interesting numbers: Opponent    Season Avg./gm      Against BH Dayton          219                        212 Crosby          150                        137 Lee              137                        115 Nederland      126                        133 GCM            61                          31 OZEN          141                        241 Seems like a very average secondary up until the Ozen game.  The next stat that I looked at really tells the story on how to win a playoff game. Season average for rushing yards/game for Ozen was 234.  They had 135 yds against BH.  Half of their normal rushing and double their normal passing! Break your tendencies and you have an opportunity to WIN! I watched some of the game film and what I saw was the BH safeties biting on play action and QB roll-outs coming up to support the run.  Ozen coaches saw that too!  This left the middle of the field wide open. Congrats Ozen coaches and players on great execution of your game plan!
  7. I normally would just read the smack and move on but this post just made me laugh.  Hands down,  "The Hill" takes this one in a walk.
  8. Please Lord, show your mercy and provide healing and strength to this family, the Vidor community and all that knew this young man.  Amen. The Pearsons BH
  9. I pray for mercy and quick healing for the Thomas family and all that knew Matt.
  10. Game is being broadcast on the net @ KSHN.com.  Go to the BH logo.
  11. Great Defensive Football Game!  I was very impressed by the Ned D!  BH O hasn't been shutdown like that since 4th game last season by a very good Dayton D.  I have to agree with Pops on the missed FG late in the 4th.  That was a very tough kick from the right hash..IMO Ned should have kicked on 1st down from the 10 or 12 yd line and :12 on the clock...would have given the kicker a much better angle (running towards the middle of the field even better) and an opportunity to retry in the event of a bad snap/hold.  As for the OT...not sure I could have thrown a flag for O interference ...there is always contact in that situation, but I didn't have a good angle to see the whole play.  Glad to hear that Ned QB is OK!  The kid that replaced him was very impressive and Ned is very fortunate to be deep at the position.
