There were some players snubbed last year, and and lot of players that got in last year from a 2-8 team... I was dumbfounded. I'm glad they got it right this year. Congrats to the the Tigers that made it. Special shout out to Silsbee's #22 DB.

You didn't agree with the West Brook fans when they complained about horrible officiating at Ozen when Ozen won... Same group of officials, right?

THIS. I seem to remember an Ozen/West Brook game a few weeks ago when Ozen won. A WB fan stated the officiating was horrible and helped Ozen from getting blown out. Other comments were made about those local officials but the Ozen () fan blew it under the table probably because of the win. An interesting turn of events...

The last big run was like a 12 yard run by Taylor in the second quarter. Carthage stuffed everything else. On the pass plays, Collins got sacked a few times. O-linemen didn't do good pass blocking last night...

Ummm... Talked to friend about the possible Central/Ozen merger. Came to the conclusion that: The football team probably won't make the playoffs first year. Beakng in 6a, you'll be in a district with West Brook. They'll be good again next year, and if they're in the district with North Shore and the rest of those teams, they won't get in past NS, WB, Or any of those guys. Definitely not if they're in the district with the Humble schools (Atascocita, Summer Creek, ect.) . Basketball, they'll have the most success. Central and Ozen never has problems with Basketball talent. They'd probably my be an instant state contender. Track, they'd be very good as well. Athletes everywhere. Baseball, uhh, no. Soccer, maybe. Obviously, lots of things at play here. Which parents are going to fully support the new school and what coaches will get the positions. So many ways this thing can go. I'm just interested in what numbers Mr. Jackson and the administration will go with this.

The defensive adjustments for Carthage and Silsbee's inability to adjust to the adjustment was so apparent. Carthage figured out how to stop the power run game, double team Barnes, and apply pressure to Collins on the playaction. It also didn't help that we turned the ball over too AND Carthage's first team offense scored on ALL of their possessions. Major emphasis will need to change the defensive scheme. Need to attack and blitz, even run blitzes. It happened a few times and it was successful. Nothing we would've done tonight would matter because Carthage was too good, but it just became downright ridiculous to look at in that second quarter...
