I will say its brighter than last year for Lumberton. The offence is a lot better and the defense, well I'll just say get you crying towel ready.

I think the Raiders will surprise a lot of ppl this year. (I HOPE) With a more versatile offence and the defense having a chance to take a breather, I'm sure it will be better than last year.

I'm sure their are a lot more kids that have gotten letters to visit schools or have had schools contact them or their parents. But they do not post it because a lot can happen between now an their senior year.

I do think Babin is the right guy for Lumberton. Some of the other coaches on his staff, not so much. But all in all if the kids don't believe in in the coaches that's where it starts falling a part. Also the players have to come together as a team ( jell ) if that don't happen then they will not play as a team or as one. Coach Babin can't make that happen, that is up to the players. JMO

Y'all may have come ready to play, but saying that the ref's didn't help y'all? Really!!! I have played, coached, and been around football for 40 years and have never seen a group of refs like that. For one to call a pass complete and the other to call it incomplete and the one that called it complete got told he made the wrong call when indeed it was a catch is terrible. Also to have 5 blatant personal foul penalties on the home team waved off and 2 of them had multiple flags. I will say Lumberton didn't play good at all but if you think y'all didn't have help from the refs, you have issues.

I have a question for the zebras. How can you get away with waving off 5+ blatant penalty's against the home team and still live with your self? And twice more than one flag was throne for the same penalty's.

I could be wrong but I don't think Porter ever got a first down.

Both teams looked good. HJ should do well this year and I think Lumberton will surprise a few people this year.
