1.
It's not like WB beats Katy every year till now, Katy rolls most teams, WB will be ok and make the playoffs.
;)
 2. Congrats on the win. Hope to see y'all do well the rest of the year, except against WB, of course. LOL! :)
 3.
I was there.  Katy killed WB from the get go.  Their OL pushed us around and they ran at will.  Their QB was phenomenal and made great choices for a high school QB.  Our "passer" can't seem to see more than the receiver he picks from the huddle and watches him the whole time and if he's not open he just runs.  Then the head coach gets on other players and never gets in his QB's face...hmmmm? Tonight proved it's time to start getting a QB of the future some snaps...Sorry coach, how do they say?  There is no "Son" in Team?  or something like that...
Typical Katy football. This is why they have 6 state championships to their credit......oh, and great defense!
 4.
Katy took their foot off the gas.
As they do in every game when they're clearly the better team. They are a classy enough program, to not run up the score when they obviously could. WB was clearly no match for Katy tonight. Just sayin.....
 5. While I wasn't at this game, I was getting text updates from both WB fans, and Katy fans. The outcome of this game should come as no surprise. This just confirms that WB is just not ready to compete with the elite of 5A. I will stay supportive of my Bruins the rest of the way, but we're gonna have to address the run defense, or lack of it, if we're gonna do anything in the playoffs. We were exposed by a good O-line and 2 average RB's tonight. "That dog wont hunt", in the playoffs.Katy and WB, were both, who we thought they were. Let's pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off, and get ready to take on Tyler Lee next week.
 6.
We all knew this was gonna happen.
Yup! ;)

I predicted the above score would be the final, and I was dang close! The final was 42-7! I think I deserve a few +karma points for that! ;)
 8.
35-6 Katy
42-8 ;)
 9.
This game will come down to execution, discipline, and coaching.  ::) As for a prediction...it will be clear skies, and beautiful day for a good ball game. Week in and week out teams line up against Katy to play the best game of their life...for some play makers, it takes them out of their best game...others, can't handle the pressure of playing "KATY".  THAT is the only difference between a dynasty and trying to become one....the mental preparation for this game will supersede any phase of a game these kids have been already playing for years. You want to count on ur play makers and hope the rest of the TEAM on the field can maintain their poise...it's just another game....focus....and we will execute, be disciplined, and our coaching will be right on!
8)
 10.
WB, why show up? Don't waste tax payer's gas. Stay home
Nice. Classy post.
 11.
The key is that after the game win or lose WBrook will be ready for district play. Make it out the game injury free and that's a win. Lufkin in a scrimmage Katy in Katy bring on NShore LaPorte and PAM. This game will be somemore seasoning for the Bruins win or lose.
I agree with you 100%.
 12.
I hate to say it, but Katy 56 WB 14. Maybe I'll be wrong!
I dont think they'll score THAT many.....at lease they never have in the past. Once they get a 3 or 4 TD lead, they tend to pull the starters and coast with the back-ups in.
 13.
The outcome of this game depends whether or not the Katy fans will show up.  ;)
I bet they have a few more than we do. LOL! ;)
 14.

I agree WB is basically carrying a knife to a gun fight, but this might be a trap game for Katy. I think it might be a closer contest than most people think. We typically give Katy's running game fits, with our defense. With a freshman starting at RB, it could be interesting. Our secondary needs to be ready, because if we slow down their running game, Haack will surely go to work throwing the ball around. I think Katy wins, but may not be the blowout people expect. Still behind my Bruins!
I agree with this. The thing that hurt us Friday was the two kids in secondary having the collision. Both were 1st year starters on varsity, BUT the best we have. So consequently we were more open to the pass which allowed IKE to hurt us a bit. With that said, "if" the D-Line can at least hold and not get pushed back, we will do well against the run, but if they keep getting pushed back a frosh rb with a good OL can make the night long. Celaya has installed a kind "jumbo" DT package that we saw a bit Friday. On last year, we held the DL firm and had good LB play. This year everyone is "green" at there defensive position, even Bluiett. I think if we can weather the early storm. Katy, N.S, Lufkin, and maybe even PA will have enough to jump on us quick "if" we play to our experience. So, they boys must either step it up at the first whistle and/or weather the storm and work back. Last year, we gave Katy the ball (? times) inside the 30 over and over and even our good D could not take it. The boys must do what I said earlier (great start or weather the storm) and "protect the ball". No turnovers and penalties. We should have no false starts with all seniors on the OL. The coaches, in turn must place field position at all cost. We wont out coach anybody this weekend (with all due respect). Heck in some 4th down situations, I would line up like I'm going for it and have Stump just kick it from the shot gun. Put head hunters in at receiver and have them go cover the punt. Alternate that a couple of times and that will surprise them IMO. Last but not least, keep the boys healthy in practice. and find some othe kids (lower level or wherever) to step up. AGAIN, all with no Fieldhouse. Lol
So true. We cannot help them out, any! Good post.
 15.
Regardless if the TB Katy has 10 or 100 yards, they will stick with the plan of TB iso's and quick outs to the WR's.  And when they get you all crossed up with that, they'll slip their 6' 2"-ish TE up the seam for a 1st down or more.  They will run the 3-4 on defense and they will be more physical and fundementally sound that WB on all 3 phases.....
Yep. I saw them do it last year. Makes me sick! ;D
 16.
82- I thought that Marcus Gray and a couple of other guys in that secondary played well enough on Friday to give them a little confidence going into Saturday night.... Obviously Haack is a better QB than the kid from Eisenhower, but I'm not sure that Katy will be any more athletic.... Eisenhower had some athletes on the field.... Katy has a great football team, no doubt, but I think West Brook has the capability of doing some things to make Katy adjust....
I totally agree with you. We came out last year with a "morphodite" defense, (as a few of my buddies from Katy called it) if you will, that defenitely made Katy take a step back and adjust. But in typical Katy fashion, they have excellent coaching and make great adjustments. We are going to have to do all our damage in the first half against these guys, because when the second half starts, they usually start playing "Katy-ball" and pull away from opponents. The other huge advantage Katy has over us is numbers. During the third and fourth quarters, when our kids are usually winded, they are not because they are constantly rotating in fresh legs. Katy normally carries 85-95 on the varsity. We only carry about half that. But I still think we can make it interesting, and make them earn it. ;)

 18. OK gang, who ya got in this one?
 19.
82- I agree, way too many stalled drives last night.... And I know what you mean by wanting someone to put the offense on their shoulders, and I agree that no one has done that yet.... I was happy to see Stump sit in the pocket a little longer last night, although it was easy because that offensive line did a great job all night long.... There were probably a handful (if not less) of times that Stump really had to make a decision about what to do....  Good job all around, but there were probably 2 or 3 scores left on the field, I agree....
It looks like we both watched the same game. Excellent post, sir. Very well said.
 20.
hey, 82, all I have to say is ' you're good. That COULDN'T have been me'.  (concerning 'the situation')
Haha, thanks for having my back, man! ;)
 21. No WBG, you are fine. There was a certain situation that I was directly commenting about.
 22.

Stump really had some beautiful punts also.  One thing Ike did very well IMO that brought the game into OT--was clock management.  Their last two scores took very few seconds off the clock.  On the other hand, when Da Brook has the lead like they did, they needed to use the clock to their advantage, and I did not see that at all.  You have to keep the offense on the field and wear those big boys down ---To improve the running game , the o-line needs to stay with their blocks better.  It is a technique that I strongly recomend they improve on.  ;)
OMG--I am beginning to sound like 2010's 825A----LMAO
Hahaha.... >:( I have really tried to be more positive about our team this season. With that said, I dont appreciate parents/fans tracking me down and getting in my face at a game because they dont like what has been posted on this forum. Uhh, it's a public message board people! Everybody that posts on here has an opinion, and we are free to express our opinion. Thats what living in this great country is all about. So, if your child is a player on a high profile team that has had alot of success in the past, expect a little criticism! If you dont like what I, or anybody else says, with regards to your child/player on the field....DONT READ IT! Its that simple! Have a nice day! :)
 23.
I disagree that Eisenhower was terrible.... Where they a Port Arthur Memorial, or even Central? No.... but I was really impressed Jacolby Watson and Donald Catalon on the ground.... Watson has a rocket arm, but not accurate enough.... I thought the defense was outstanding in the first half and complacent in the second half.... They got a little intensity back in the OT.... Stump once again had a phenomenal game, very accurate, and if it weren't for the last series in regulation, his stats would even look better.... I was happy that Jalen Malone and Percy Johnson were big parts of the offense tonight.... Central took both of them out of the game last week.... 82, you want someone to step up and be the go to guy on offense? I'll say that #8 may already be the leader of that unit.... He needs Percy and Jalen and the rest of those receivers to help him, but he gets it done... If I'm not mistaken, West Brook has not had a turnover, and that's how you get to 3-0....
You are correct, he played alot better, and seems to be getting better. I saw more confidence in his passing ability, and thats good to see. His decision making, while in the pocket, seems to be improving. He was alot less prone to take off running, against Ike, than in previous games. But I'm waiting to see someone that can come in, put the offense on his shoulders, and finish drives. So far, I'm sorry to say, I haven't seen that. We have had too many drives stall out this season that didn't produce any points. We left entirely too many points on the field, and should have never gone into OT! Just sayin..... But like I said, I saw more consistency on offense, and great improvement in the passing game. So we're headed in the right direction. I like what we've accomplished thus far, and I like watching this team mature. Its good to see.
