Not owned but WOS has a better O line than Silsbee! If Lumberton dropped over 400 rushing and Newton had 2 backs go over 100 what do you think this kid will do? Giving you facts bruh! Silsbee's weakness is run defense. Silsbee has to contain him to win. Ill give up 175yds rushing and no TD's.

I'm willing to bet the farm that Jasper back Morresy will get T least 175 yards rushing. I think is the best back in SETX this year not named Justine Twine (QB who doesn't pass). Once Pat Reed gets his arm under control, the passing game will be lethal. Silsbee should feed Spearman the ball 20 times at least this game. Any word on Turk?

My dad told me when he played cornerback and QB at Hebert he was truck over by Bubba Smith for a 60 yard run. He said when Bubba hit him it felt like someone hit him in the chest with a bag of bricks!

I one saw Rock Cartwright in high school Bo Jackson Tecmo Bowl truck 4 players from Huntsville into the end zone on a 50 yard run. Craziest run I ever saw in person.

Twine is on pace to set a national record in rushing yards as a sophomore. If this kid keeps his grades up, and plays like this over the next two years be could be a very serious D1 recruit. I don't feel he will be a college QB but maybe. Percy Harvin type back. Would like to see what he could do if he were at a 4A or even 3A school. Is he originally from Hemphill?

FYI Silsbee had two move ins from Houston no one ever mentioned. A 6'1 guard and a 6'2 post. Both started on 5A teams last year. Sat with their uncles at the Silsbee vs Newton game. Don't think I heard anyone mention this in any other post.

Turk hopefully will be back by the WOS game. A Newton player rolled up on knee last night. Saw it right in front of me.

Fantastic game by both teams! First game I attended. The Tigers are playing nice ball. They have to learn how to wrap up and tackle. They missed about 15-20 tackles last night on kickoff and on Shorter and that Newton QB. Other than that, they are really jelling as a team. Keep working with Reed to help him to stop short arming a few passes and this could be. Magical year in Silsbee!

Silsbee was small last year as well. DC was the difference but a team full of guards can be scary with the kind of skill set they have.

They also had a 6'10 guy they called "Slim" wo was about 20 years old.

Love ya Newton fans! Newton has the team to go to state this year. I think if Silsbee gets off to a slow start, they could be in trouble. newtons run game can eat up a clock. Silsbee's defense struggled against Lumberton. They mixed up a strong run game with a few play action passes that all got big yards. Silsbee should stay off too many run blitzes. That Newton rb is GOOD!
