Good point Liltex. Except Brenham beat Tivy. I have been saying all year that this is basically the same exact Dayton team (minus Ploch and Franks) that went toe to toe with the Cubs last year.  But because we lost our first three games, the perception is that we are a weaker team this year. NOT TRUE! That said though, Brenham is also better. The question is: Can the Bronco offense adapt in the next three weeks, to being without the most explosive player in the district? Jakari was a game changer, period. McBride is good, no doubt. But can he fill those shoes? We shall see.
Jakari is an awesome player.. BUT I think McBride may feel he has something to prove. Not only to the coaches and fans but most importantly to himself. And that is what's gonna make him GREAT in that position but again thats just my opinion. I think the opposition is gonna be like WHAT! when they see how good McBride is. All I gotta say is don't let his size fool ya. He reminds me alot of that kid from Sulphur Springs when Dayton played them in the playoffs.. Yall remember he was small too
I think dayton is a better team now. ploch was a great player, but this years team have alot more options than just ploch. when ploch went down we had know one else to move the ball. the qb was young and he tried but wasn't ready. franks also was a good player, but since he only had one year in stewart's system, i don't think he never really got comfortable. the injury did not help either. the defense just pick a position and it is improved from last year.
 5.
I am goin to say Dayton. Started out 0-3 and everybody thought it was going to be a long season. Then they lost a defensive lineman and argueably the best RB in SETX. They have won six in a row with the JV team playing in the 2nd half of most of these games. I think who ever has to play these guys better be nervous too. Also know one seems to be able to break da lil miniture horse they have(#15). He is running wild down there. Just want the competition to be aware and don't let him run wild on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i did mean the 2nd string it was sarcasm. sorry that only us bronco fans have it and i guess it is because are the only ones able to play the 2nd and 3rd string on friday nights.
30%  ???   Check the last few years of presidential election results.  Except for the last election over 50% of population dont vote.   Biggest show of respect is to use the rights given to you at the cost of veteran.   Blood and Life sacrifices.  The " I deserve it" generations have been here for awhile. There are exceptions within those generations.  They are the ones who have seen or felt the price paid. Just my opinion.
I know this maybe on the wrong blog and i should have posted it on Rush limbaugh or somewhere. But speaking of respect and we just had the election I have a question. Why doesn't THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES get the respect he deserves. I know some of us don't like some decisions he makes, his skin color, or what ever the reason may be. This is not the first President that we have not agree with 100% of the time and I have never witness anything like what this man has gone thru. Like I said I know this is probably the wrong place for this but just reading some of the statements on here about Crosby not coming out for the National athem. I began to wonder being a veteran and serving this country why do we treat our President like that or anyone and then turn around and get mad at a coach are kids for not coming out for the National Athem is mind boggling to me.
oh god... here we go... i wonder who is going to answer this one truthfully and turn this into a political debate....
Nope really don't want to do that and that is why i was not sure if i should have posted it. It was just a thought that came to my mind. With me being from dayton and I bleed purple, it just bothers me how we can drag kids into stupid stuff and not even think how we act. As much as i hate saying this i really don't think crosby was trying to be disrespectful to the National Athem, having the other team wait for you is just a mind game that some coaches try to use on the other team. in know way is that team trying to disrespect anything or anybody but we are quick to blame the kids and it is not fair. it is good kids in crosby just like dayton and bad ones in dayton just like crosby. i would just like to say before we throw some young kids under the bus that really don't even understand lets just think before we we say the kids did this and they did that. It is always not the case. I will get off my soap box now. Go Broncos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 8.
Here is my problem with Dayton's defense. And before I get jumped on, let me say, I love Dayton. I actually love all of Liberty County, it is such a homey and peaceful place. If I was able I'd move back there in a heartbeat, I have many friends and family there.  But as far as Dayton this season, I just don't think they are as good as last year.  I know that they have made strides since the first three games, but I think that's mainly due to a lack of competition.  I mean, there are only two other teams in the whole district that even have a winning record.  The combined record of all the teams in your district other than Dayton is 25-38.  And I can understand early season issues, but when the big games came, Elkins, Ike and Angleton, Dayton didn't win any of them.  Maybe the team has come together and can be a beast.  But my fear is that they are going to get another soft touch in round 1 with someone like Livingston and then run into a buzzsaw when they play Brenham.  Lucky for me, I live in Brenham, so no matter who wins the Brenham v. Dayton game I'll have someone to root for!
rickedra i am sorry ricko. after the brenham game we will not have room on our wagon for you. sorry. we definately want allow a D rider back in liberty county. SORRY

Ask anyone of those teams we lost to if the defense was the problem. Besides out of those 3 games I think the defense was on the field 11 of the 12 qtrs. I know if if was a fifth we would all be drunk be it had nothing to do with the D those first three games. we dominated all 3 teams and just turned the ball over to much. If we didn't turn the ball over the JV would have been playing in the 2nd half against these teams to.

Maybe if they combine they might be able to put up 7 pts. Heres my prediction. CROS put 3 up on DAY............BH put up 0..............niether one can play D against a real team................. CROS by 3
*shakes head* uh huh... 1BH player + 1 Crosby player = 1 Dayton Bronco... So in conclusion it takes 2 of their players to make 1 of our players  :-*
Wow!  Impressive math.....must be that academically acceptable education you got at Dayton ISD!
Oh and just so you know I didn't go to Dayton.
While your on that topic, how was the Department of Corrections?   ;D ;D ;D
Haven't a clue.. but I did hear that an APB was put out on a smokin infantile.. you fit that description...something bout hanging on to Dayton's coat tails... after repeated warnings to create BH's own glory... But you just can't get up enough confidence in the bump to do that. I hear Crosby has an opening on their coat tails... you have ties there I'm sure they will let you on.  :-*    After 4 quarters of play... the game is tied for hours.... breaks a new record for OT... Both teams agree to a coin toss.. the bump wins the toss but defers it to Crosby... ;D
Does BH kick a field goal or extra point after a TD? i dont know the difference.... before you start knocking someones else intelligence; you might wanna get some yourself.  ;D ;D ;D
Ok so whos intelligence did I insult? I have plenty of intelligence.. just not football intelligence thats why I ask questions to get me some football intelligence... I can't help that I'm not a wanna be or has been football player like you... you like me just admit it.. cause you remember that question I asked days ago.. and called me a smart A$$ for asking... we have that love hate relationship going on huh? :-*
Once again you arent showing much intelligence from that assumption! Actually i never stepped foot on a football team unless it was for a round up game. I just know my terminology of football before i make an appearance on a football website and start smack talking. Learn the game or you will be put to shame.
And what was your prediction on the BH / DAY game whathappened? OH........that was real intelligence ;)
Go back and look. my prediction was Day= 35 BH= 13. not exact but i was close
So you predicted a 22 point spread, the actual margin was 54 and you said you were close?  The margin was 2.5 times your prediction and you're calling it close?  You're not the real Brandon Lang are you?  I know a handicapper that might be able to get you into the biz with those skills.
I guess purple is truly the color of the "undecided" (isn't purple a girly color) .... When Dayton stops talking trash and starts watching the actual BH vs Dayton game, you will see that Dayton didn't beat BH.   BH beat BH ..... at least seven of the turnovers we had led to Dayton touchdowns ..... Give credit where credit is due, we turned the ball over which led to the spanking ..... Stop talking smack because you are about to jinx yourselves and be out the first round of the playoffs. At least BLUE is not a girly color .... lol Go Blue !!!
you are right bh beat bh. BH shoud not have fired coach price. Have you ever heard what goes around comes around and we just did what coach price wanted and that was to kick BH azzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TB I agree. These guys are coached real well and will knock the snot out of you. I think it all starts with #65 in the middle. He demands a double and tripple team every play which allows everyone else to make plays. #34 is the best LB in the district and know body evens mentions his name. It's not only him the whole defense is bunch hard nose physical guys that will punish anybody they play. Broncos shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh keep flying under the radar and before you know it we will be back in the championship again!!!!!!!!!!

Friday - scrimmage in Friendswood (F-wood and Alvin)
Dayton destroyed nederland lastnight in a scrimmage. I think the score was like 68 to 32.

What they have coming back is the starting PG, who will be a SR (6'1") & the starting C, who will b a SR (6'6"). The only other returning player will be a SR (6'0") as well, he was the 6th man, first of the bench kinda player !!! ... I hear the Freshman starting QB is a pretty good baller as well, but not sure as he is new to the school district ... the JV squad has some pretty good players coming up. They played ok in summer ball, but i guess we will see soon enough ???. Not sure what the new coach has in mind. & any early games will not have any of the returners until football season is over. & yes dayton may be rolling in football, but there Bball team is pretty week !!!  :P
yep. we have some talent but we do not have a coach stewart on the bench. i have been watching thiss guy coach for several years and it is ridiculous.

LETS PLEASE KEEP MIXING IY UP AND GET SOME OF THESE OTHER ATHLETES INVOLVED. make the other teams really have to prepare for us because we have the weapons.

 21.
IMO Coach Deel is doing his job the best he can with the players he has. At the end of the night on Friday its which team was the most talented and played hardest, yes coaching is a factor but to say the only way Liberty can win is if Deel is gone, is an outrageous statement.
The truth hurts sometime and from what i have seen liberty has some talent. It was not the players fault they lost to huntington. Explain that one.
 22.
Valid points 92. I said at the beginning of the season that Fowler would be the play maker for this team. Just hasn't materialized since Jakari has done so well. Mcbride shows heart and potential. I just don't see him carrying this team yet. Maybe next year though. Defense is still there. But we all have seen that if left on the field too long they are vulnerable too. (Angelton, Ike) They are great but not invincable. The offense has to help them out. They'll probably just rotate Baldwin and McBride in at RB and change the play calling a little and hope for the best.
I am not at all saying Mac is ready to carry this team but he can take alot of the weight off if used. The same with Fowler. I think Fowler is more ready than Mac because of the experience. Again neither of these kids will be able to replace the production and explosiveness that JD brought to this team but together I think we are very dangerous because you don't know who will get it. We will not face another team until maybe brenham that will have the spead and size of those teams we faced in those forst three games. With that being said I don't see the D wearing down. If anything we will wear a oofense down by how physical we are. This team really bring the hat. I know Dayton has all ways had some defenses that will hit but it has been a long time since I have seen them do it like this.
 23.
We will have to open the playbook a little more too. Do not use the bubble more than twice and use it to set up something over the middle.
True. Fowler on the post like Dugat did so many times.
 24.
So do u move X to RB and McBride to REC or keep X at REC and start McBride at RB. Also lets put it in Rips hands in short yardage just to see what happens ???
I will keep X at REC and let Lil Mac move to RB. I agree get out of shotgun on short yardage and give it to Rip or even Wright.(Alot of TALENT every where on this team.) Trust I think we will be Ok. We got four weeks to work on it. This well oil machine just needs a  oil change.
 25.
We'd all like to "believe" that the Broncos can suck it up and win without JD, but it's going to be tough. North Forest and King...sure probably. Crosby, maybe. Playofffs, doubtful. JD is THE hoss on this team. The team relys on him for the big play. The offense is not balanced enough to be effective without him. Go back and look at the games. The only time the Broncos punt is when JD doesn't break one or they choose not to go to him that series. Can anyone remember a first down made by any other player? Possibly Baldwin on a bubble screen. But that's been a while. One or two passes to other players for first downs this whole season. I'm not talking about trash time here either. Strangely enough, there has been several TD passes to other players, just not many for drive sustaining first downs. There are other talented players no doubt, just not on his level, and not utilized enough. (IMO) Hopefully you're right Dayton, this will force the offense to adapt and be better in the long run for it. Good point. Bottom line is, this offense just lost over half it's production. Here's to a speedy recovery!  8)
I agree that JD is the man on this team OFFENSIVELY, but just like you said we have alot of weapons on this team that may only touch the ball one time a game. I think this will allow them to get some touches and show what they can do. This will make it very hard for a team to prepare for us down the road. I think Lil McBride has the potential to be a difference maker if given the chance. Will take the load off of JD when teams start to just key on him. Also Fowler, we have got to throw to this kid more. He has great hands and can make a play anytime he touches it. Nations will have know choice, but  to start spreading the wealth now that JD is taking a break. A much needed one the way he has been racking up the yards. I want even talk about the defense. They do the talking for them selves.(PHYSICAL)
