Look at the play on Toup's website and I think you'll see what I mean.  50 or 60 yard td pass in the boxscore...but then you watch the play and see that it was actually a badly thrown ball where AJ had to wait for a good half second and the DB almost makes the play.  He then jukes the next guy so bad he just flat falls down and takes it "to da house."  I'm worried about better teams taking that one the other way.

I think that the one thing that is failed to be considered is that these kids are just high school kids with lots of room for improvement. I've seen film where Green has thrown some not so great passes, and also in the same film I have seen where he has thrown some right into receivers hands and they have dropped them... Additionally Dugat is a great receiver, but I see after reading these comments that there seems to be some reason that Dugat and Green can't both be the best in SETX, just at what they do. I mean in the papers it doesn't make it seem like one is better than the other, they are just a lethal combo.. am I missing something else? Like was someone else supposed to be QB instead of Green? I think I might be misunderstanding what is really going on in Dayton.. Can anyone give me a little more insight?

Someone needs to change the title of this thread to "CODY GREEN...YAY OR NAY?"  instead of "Who Will Get Dayton In The First Round? L Train Or Livingston?"

Sounds like the Dayton fans are more worried about their quarterback instead of who they play in the playoffs.

wow.. I have been out of the loop for quite some time and I am now trying to catch up.. this is crazy.. what on earth are bronco "supporters" speaking such negative things about the leader of their team for?

I'm not even from the area and have heard only great things about him.. I'd think that the local fans would feel the same way.. what's really going on?

I know this is a stretch.. but I heard at the Nederland tournament that Humble Christian Academy had a 7 footer.. He's already signed with A&M

I'm going to have to go with BMT... I think it will be a tough game.. but I think that our boys will come out on top!

another person that's a great sophomore from Dayton.. AJ Dugat.. I have seen him at basketball and that's just another thing he's very talented at..

So he's yet another all around athlete. Doesn't he run track or something too?

Lots of good points being made.. but I think that a football program has to work as a well oiled machine. I don't see that Vidor has the dedication that the other teams in the district have. The players and coaches have to be fully committed the whole season to the game.. the feel, the smell everything. Maybe they should revert back to the guys carrying around the football all day in school, at home.. I know it sounds random- but it has worked with other teams.. They just need to appreciate the sport. I agree that heart is a major point. Everyone's heard the you saying.. "you've got to want it to win it".. It's true. Nothing comes easily. I agree that the fans don't have that much of an influence on the outcome of the game. Of course teams want and need support, but if they support each other they should be able to play with nobody in the stands.. (ie) practice... during practice the fans aren't there to support them and cheer them on.. Are they performing well in practice? I've never seen them practice but I think it safe to say that they're not giving their all in practice.

All that said- I don't think that anyone should give up on them. I believe with a lot of hard work and a lot of summer ball they should be a pretty strong team. They should just weed out those not actually interested in playing.. and practice hard and play hard..

Vidor will be fine...

From what I've seen, I think Nederland has a good shot.. Mosley will carry the team far.. If the receivers play strong.. they should go atleast 2nd or 3rd round..

Both Coach Stewarts.. Liberty and Dayton- working with the kids they have and the talent they were given.. did a great job

very true.. that was a solid team.. they had some serious athletes.. K. Martin, P. Janes, M. Johnson, J. Carranco for special teams.

I think that this team though, will have that same potention, they're just young.. in 03 all of those guys were upper classmen..

A few years back the same thing happened in Dayton and it was everywhere.. Everybody knew. I agree that it's public knowledge. It's not meant to hurt anyone or slander the kid who did it.. It's just meant as letting the community know what's going on. Hopefully it will prevent someone doing the same thing. Athletes have to realized.. a lot is riding on everything you do.. Both privately and publically...

Texas has a lot of young athletes, but coming in right behind Daniel Gibson is Harrison Ford- from the same high school. So I think it could be a pretty good show this year...

I've seen BJ Holmes play for years.. at first glance, he doesn't even look like a basketball players.. but that young man has some amazing TALENT..

can anyone fill me in on the ranking of the teams? Like how it's done?

Oh- ok.. I understand.. Dugat is a great athlete from the years I've seen him, but he just doesn't have the size needed for the next level...

it was no disrepect towards Vince Young, he's obviously a good player. But you shouldn't ever say that someone will never be as good as someone else and not compare all of there stats. It was a simple comment that shouldn't have been misconstrude as the "dumbest comment ever." Pimp Smack you are right, I'm new on here and not trying to step on anyone's toes with anything. I just hear what I hear and know what I know. I'm just voicing my opinion like everyone else. Once again, not trying to offend anyone.

Pimp Smack, you're right. Green will never be Vince Young, I project he'll be better. From what I hear, the kids pretty good book smart along with his knowledge on the field. If you didn't know Vince Young was in the lowest of the low classes in high school.. Just a tid bit of information for the day...
