-
good first season with the "big boys" BH! Congratulations!!!

dumb comment

WOS by about as much as they beat them last year. Both teams have equally improved.
-
The Bucs will be hard to stop IF they come and out and play to their potential. If they play their best' date=' LOOK OUT they may make a deep playoff run![/quote']
IF they play their best and beat hemphill, they will still have MART in the second round... good luck w/ that EC

WOS
Silsbee
Newton
I think WOS and Silsbee actually have a better chance this year than Newton. Newton has 3 title game appearances in the last 8 years (isnt that right?), but 4 out of the five years that they have not made it to the title game, they lost to the team that they will face in the second round again this year... MARLIN. UH OH... and too many young players.

I wouldnt put greatness and Hemphill hand in hand, but Hemphill is traditionally tough in the playoffs... as is the rest of district 23 2A. Until district 24 proves me wrong, I see them as a weak district if BUNA and DEWEYVILLE can make the playoffs. EC is good, but the rest of the district cant be that much improved over the course of one year. I think EC and Hemphill will be a good game. I am saying that Hemphill will prevail because they HAVE been tested, unlike East Chambers.

yall must be smoking some crazy stuff... i hope its closer than i think its gonna be... I dont know much about buna, but I dont see Newton going out before they take care of some unfinished business from 3A in round 2 against Marlin.

NEDERLAND 40
GP 27
-
JASPER... its gonna be weird without them in the playoffs... better luck next year.
-
It could go either way, but I think that Central will be too athletic for BH...
Central 24
BH 13
JMO

Probably because they have seasons like this every year... they win until they get to the playoffs. Playoff history plays a big part in the polls. Maybe they will have some success this year, and they will get more respect from the pollsters next year. I doubt the Enterprise voters even have them in their top ten.
-
WOS by as much as they want... sorry Liberty. 8)
-
Maybe not weak overall, but compared to district 23 it is IMO... Newton, Corrigan Camden, and San Augustine have won a state championship in the last 3 or 4 years... and Hemphill made an appearance recently in the title game. I might be wrong come Friday, but I think it will be a 23-2A sweep... EC is your only chance.
-
EC is a good team, but they are coming out of a very weak district... I think Hemphill's recent tough games will be enough to propel them to the second round...
Hemphill 20
EC 12
-
I think this will be a good easy practice game for Newton before Marlin and Tatum.
Newton 41
Buna 12
The next two weeks get more interesting.
-
CC 42
Dewyville 20
-
Dayton 35
Crosby 3

So who won?? Is Newton D1 or D2??
-
 396 or 406... either way, what does it matter? That is impressive! Congratulations
-
yeah... definetly these two then... seems like they're doing it all... green and burch
-
true... i do take free tshirts anytime... poor college student
-
Newton by 35... Good luck in the playoffs
-
THANKS CH FOR THE NICE WISHES.....
mf: FYI' date=' A) I don't think EC has made any gaudy presumptions about winning state. Bucs take games one-at-a-time
and I doubt the Bucs care who "your money is on" in 2A [/quote']
If I was EC, I wouldnt make gaudy presumptions about winning state either! Make it past the second round for once, and then maybe shoot for it next year! You really wear your feelings on your sleeves dont you ECBuc...
If you had you pick of any staff who would you pick?

Newtons staff has two coaches who have been the head man for a state championship team (Barbay-2 Thompson-1), and Walkoviak who was head coach at Jasper forever. hands down the best staff
