  1. In district 22-5A, Nederland is one of the bigger towns with a population of 17,563 people with one High school. Beaumont is much bigger but has 6 High schools within its city limits. Most of the schools in the district lists their enrollment 9th-12th grades. Being one of the larger schools Nederland has an enrollment of 1584 students 9th-12th. Port Arthur has a population of 54,135 with one High School and listing an enrollment of 2098 10th-12th with a cutoff of 2100 at the time of reporting although the uil raised the cutoff to 2150 later. On Port Arthur Memorial's Home Web Page they list an enrollment of 2460 grades 10-12.  Somehow the numbers don't add up. Some of the other towns in the district have a much smaller population with an enrollment as small as 1000 kids. Just wondering.  Any explanations or thoughts on this?

  2. Just wondering how the UIL comes up with 5A Districts. Who's word do they take on the schools enrollments. Dist 21-5A  and  22-5A have all legit 5A Schools. With a 2015-16 enrollment cutoff of 2100 enrollment, the top 2 21-5A schools have an enrollment of 1952 and 1861 while the top 2 schools in 22-5A have 1849 and 1778. I was listening to the 5A div 1 quarter final between George Ranch and Bryan who according to their web sites have  enrollments of 2401 and 2480. At the same time PA Memorial is playing 6A with an enrollment of 2110.

  3. Summer Creek enrollment 1383????                                                                                                                                                                                        UIL 2012 enrollment numbers.    District 19

                District 19
    Mont Belvieu Barbers Hill 1287
    Crosby 1440
    Dayton 1443
    Humble 1550
    Sheldon King 1746
    New Caney 1400
    Humble Kingwood Park 1664.5
    Humble Summer Creek 2019.5
New Caney Porter 1366                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                And this is only the average of the number of kids showing up for school each day.  Their so called 5A georgetown has about 100 kids less than Summer Creek. SC will most likely have another 100 to 200 kids this year.
  4. coach pops on my dads computer. Has anyone noticed the videos on youtube are no longer available for viewing?? Is it just my family that can't find them or have they somehow been removed? I stopped by to talk some football with my dad and my sister was here. They had been looking for GT video and sis pointed out to me that youtube videos are unavailable. What's up? Surely the vids weren't removed purposely huh? I checked some old threads for links to GT game vids and found some links but the vids were blank. This is probably a mistake on my part but could someone please verify?
  5. Vidor school district only sent 10 tickets to be sold at Nedrland for the upcoming game. Is this a ploy to keep Nederland fans from going to the game or so they can sell the visitors side seats to the home crowd. They said tickets will only be sold at the gate at 6:00. How long would it take for 5000 Nederland fans to stand in line for tickets if there are any at all. Either way this is pretty chickens**t of the Vidor school district. Elderly fans like myself cannot stand in line for 10 hours to try to get a ticket.
  6. Why are the subvarsity games not played at the new stadium in Beaumont. Looks like they would try to get their money's worth out of that stadium. Is it because they dont want to turn on the lights. Surely a school district that can afford to pay a superintendant hundreds of thousands of dollars and an electrician millions of dollars and can afford to build a hotel can pay their light bill. The younger kids work just as hard as the older kids and should be given the same privileges.
