  1. Silsbee is not as good as expected thus far...nither is wo-s.This game is a toss up.If one of these teams finally finds themselvs and the other plays as they been palying it could be a long night for one of them but I really don't look for that to happen.
  2. I'm assuming this is a serious question. The answer is no. Does the UIL ,or whatever the rules organization is that the UIL plays it's games under, define HOW a forward pass is thrown? If not, it is a very legitimate question. If your arm is going forward and you drop the ball it is an incomplete pass. You can't pass a ball by kicking it.You can not advance the ball by kicking it. don't know exactly how it reads... if you catch the ball in the air it is downed at that point and the other team starts from there.
  3. 1987 wasn't it? And WOS won state. W,Land95 is correct.04 was the year we went 3A.WO-S was ranked #1,Jasper #2.Jasper beat us at our house 25-23.The same year Huffman beat us in the firat playoff game 30-28.
  4. Whatever.Still going to be a SLOBBERKNOCKER.Right j_dog. ;D
  5. Yeah,it's going to happen...just don't know when.
  6. Did it ever occur to you that maybe the Bulldogs had something to do with your cats playing the worst game you have seen in a long time? Now thunder you should know by now that your opponet has nothing to do with the way your team plays. ;D
  7. Gilmer is as good and maybe better than last year.Whoever plays them will have their hands full.If wo-s was to play them now they would lose hands down imo.We have played three games and I really have not seen much improvment. What some people base their wide margin of victory for wo-s over Jasper I have no clue. This team(wo-s) is still learning and trying to find it's self.Jasper on the other hand seem to be improving after each game.Don't be foolish as to think Jasper want be much of a test and that wo-s is going to roll.I don't see that happening.
  8. I knew he would go for 2 in OT....it's his MO so to speak. Very gutsy call indeed and I am not one bit upset about it. Kirbyville had the ground game working pretty well in the 2nd half. I don't know what the stats say but the feel of the game was that our defense was playing better than their defense. Which made going for two absolutely the right call. He may not have felt that way but I did. I thought it was the right call also. You don't want to try and match wo-s touchdown for touchdown in overtime imo. They did what they needed to do...might not get another chance...lets try and win it now I would think.
  9. WO-S will have to keep the penelties down.1st and 15,2nd and 20 will take you out of your game plan quick. It's a lot harder to defend 2nd and 5 or 6 than the latter. If we play smart and keep the mistakes down we should be ok.Jasper for the most part plays us tuff anyway and we do not need to give them any help.We will need to move the chains and keep our defense rested.
  10. Speaking of the PA announcer. The "fabric on the field" saying is really getting on my nerves. :
  11. Well just about every thing has been said so I'll just say this...Great game for a cat fan and a very sloppy game for a stang fan.Even though the stangs had their problems the cat defense was pretty good. Wo-s had better get some things fixed before they go to Jasper or any other place for that matter.I never have bought into their high ranking and they have not done anything yet that would change my mind.I would like to think that this was just a bad night for the stangs but I'm not so sure that is the case. :-\
  12. I think closer for those playing on grass ( mud ).Those playing on turf should be ok if they keep the ball dry.
  13. Yep.A wet field will make it intresting. But it will be wet for both teams. You can look for a game like we had with LCM a couple of years ago and it seemed to bother wo-s more.Of course LCM wouldn't have scored on a dry field anyway but Kirbyville is a much better team than LCM was that year.I think turnovers and the kicking game might well decide this game.In any event i'm going with wo-s in a low scoring game.
  14. I miss read that at first and thought you were talking about voting points. We still lag behind # 2 by 28 votes. But you are right Carthage only beat Henderson by one point...a win is a win.
  15. Don't forget the two int's by lcm when wo-s was driving...one in the end zone. LCM had a lot to do with why the score wasn't higher.Give them credit. ;D
  16. Speveto, It will be a team effort, not a one man show like some teams I know. :
  17. I think 4.But until the new qb for ned proves he can lead the team I would have more question marks on that list at this point in time. You may be right I just don't know him like you guys do in Nederland.
  18. Skipper.Would you like to expand on that?
  19. I think Gas pretty much stated my take. I have not seen the other teams but it looks like Ozen might be left out in the cold.LCM has impressed me thus far and will have an impact in the district race I think.Vidor at this point is 1st or 2nd.Ned is a real question mark without Bellows. Vidor,PNG,Central and Lumberton are the teams to beat at this point in time. The question is will these beat each other up and and give the rest a chance to sneak in.It looks like that kind of year and i wouldn't rule out having to go to a tie breaking system to sort it all out at the end.
  20. How could you be sure Gas? You only have a total of twenty toes and fingers. ;D
