Any update on the score? 

what happened with All-District picks for 24-2A? The only people from Warren to make the team were Sloan Wilson and Aaron Harrington? What about Levi West, Brody Parker, Caleb Swinney, Colt Kelley... any of these guys should have at least gotten honorable mention! WHAT HAPPENED??!! ???

The same thing happened at Deweyville.  Our 2 main pitchers, Ethan Williams & Daryl Martin (both Sr's) didn't get nominated either.  Also deserving is Keeton Addison (freshman), Seth Williams (Soph), both of which are very good players.  These 4 boys would be at the top of my list anyday, so CONGRATS to all of you.

I believe it was EC 8-DVILLE 7.  Keeton Addison had a 3 run homer for the Pirates. Heard it was a good game.  Way to go one-three!

Good game to both Kountze & Deweyville.  The actual score was 10-4 though, not 11-2.  Good luck Tues Pirates!

:'(  Hard to believe the baseball community has lost such a great man.  We first met Obie many years ago through Pony Baseball and just saw him a few weeks ago at a Varsity game.  He was a great guy who will be missed by all who knew him.  My prayers to his family as they go through this difficult time.  May God Bless You. 

THE UMPS IN THIS GAME WERE THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN IN ANY BASEBALL GAME AT ANY LEVEL.  ANAHUAC WOULD HAVE STILL LOST THE GAME BUT THAT NEEDED TO BE SAID.  I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE SEEN A STRIKE ZONE THAT WAS SO BIG FOR ONE TEAM AND SO SMALL FOR ANOTHER.  THEY WERE PATHETIC.

I have to agree with Rhino....they were consistent for both sides, granted there were some bad calls for both sides.  But I have to disagree on the umps being the worst.....that would be the umps at the Warren/D'ville game last week!  When we were up 10-1, he gathered our team after a bad call and told them it was more or less a "pity call" and to let it go.  That call cost us the 2 runs that had already come in and possibly 2 more that were on base...we ended up losing 18-14.  Since when are there pity calls in High School District Baseball games?  And their strike zone went anywhere from big to little for both sides so the pitchers never knew what to throw.  They surely take the  prize for worst umps!

To Dell Smith and Dvillefan....I am neither mentally challenged nor stupid.....let me see if I can explain it in easy simple terms you can understand.  The boys are playing each game for them....the team, their team-mates, for each other, no one else.  That's all I meant.....didn't know you'd get your panties in a ruffle over it.  : 

I think it will be a good game between both teams.  But the Pirates are coming home with the win because they are playing for the BEST coach there is.......THEIRSELVES!!!  GO GET'EM PIRATES!!!

;)CONGRATS PIRATES!  What an exciting and crazy game.  Both teams did a great job today and put up an all out battle till the end.  Great job on the mound Ethan & Daryl....and what a shot #5 Matt Manning had with that 2 run homer!  You played a great game Pirates and your teamwork was outstanding!  You know what you have to do!  C-ya in Warren. 

Congrats to the Pirates on a heck of a game!  We were down 5-2 and came back fighting to win it.  Congrats to Daryl, you pitched a great game....8 innings & 15 KO's!  Also want to say Congrats to the Kountze team on a great game played.  It was exciting to the last minute, and probably the best game I've seen yet!  GO PIRATES!! 

I wouldn't hold your breath on that new field at D'ville...for the past 2 yrs our Sr players have been told "next year you will be playing on a new field."  Hasn't happened yet!  I agree, our field qualifies as one of the worst fields, the scoreboard doesn't work half the time, never know  if there will be a concession stand, and pray that they have the key to the bathrooms! lol...I certainly hope that by next year they do have that new field....I think 5 yrs if PLENTY of time to build a school and fields!  : ???    GO PIRATES! 

It was a good game, however, it should have been closer.  We made a few errors that cost us but they are learning and improving with each game.  Congrats to Tucker on some great pitching.....and CONGRATS to E. Williams on that beautiful 3 run homer!  Due to unforseen circumstances, we have had key starters not playing in our first 3 district games and that has made a difference.  We should have everyone when we go to Kountze this Friday.  Don't count our Pirates out just yet.....we've got alot of talent and a great group of kids.  GO PIRATES!!

deweyville has a freshman named garret haney thats got a really good glove in the field and also bats switch..  definately making a difference for us this year.

He's back and he'll be at Lumberton on Sat.  He was out for awhile due to surgery and couldn't lift but is making up for it now.  Good luck to all the lifters this weekend! 

Deweyville will be there.

Evadale has a very good lefty. NICE curve ball. kepp the batters off balance all night. They should do quite well in district. As for Deweyville they are coming together nicely!

ya they pitched him 6 innings  .. doesnt throw hard but is pretty accurate and throws fball and curve..  umpire was kinda changing his stirkezone alot during the game which threw off the batters and pitchers though..

Martin pitched a complete game giving up only 4 hits with 8 KO's and 0 earned runs.  We have a great bunch of kids this year with a couple of freshman that are really playing good.  We've got great Sr leadership this year along with a new Head Coach, so watch out for those Pirates!  Our only drawback.....after 4 years we STILL DON'T HAVE A NEW FIELD TO PLAY ON!!!!  So if you are coming to D'ville to play.....head to the OLD field!

The few coaches that Bickham kept were almost all demoted to middle school sports. We lost several good coaches, like Thibodeaux (AD @ Sabine Pass now) and Jackson, who could have coached middle school if he stayed. IMO.....he is a Varsity coach, not middle school, that was a slap in the face for him. Time will tell with the coaches he brought in this year, our Varsity basketball coach will also be the Varsity Baseball coach since he never found one. I'm not downing Bickham, I'm sure he has done some good this year with the football program, but give these kids some credit. The majority of our JV and Varsity teams have grown up playing together in our little league program, we always knew when they got to high school, we were going to have some great teams.....AND WE DO!! All of our sports programs deserve to be recognized as much as the football program is, and I feel like that is the AD's job to make sure that they are. I'm afraid that if they don't get the recognition they deserve, we will continue to lose good athletes and all of our programs will suffer. Remember.....it's all about the kids!!
