The truth about lil league team taking a knee in Bmt, Tx
stevenash replied to 5GallonBucket's topic in Political Forum
If the Cowboys honor your request, will the Bears do the same for all the kids killed in Chicago by people other than the police? If your new word does not make it into the dictionary, will you be "offended" and kneel during the National Anthem and, perhaps, loot a store or two? -
The tradition of standing for the national anthem is rooted in federal law, according to historians. The U.S. Flag Code, passed in 1942, states that all civilians present during the playing of the anthem while the U.S. flag is displayed "should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart."

Dove- Are you demanding sensitivity training for all of those who don't perceive those lyrics in the same manner you do? -
How is it that you know that? ( or is that possibly an assumption or something you were taught?)
-
Would that statement apply to MLK?

Please enlighten me on how an emblem on a helmet showing respect for police killed in the line of duty is corporate "advertising". Furthermore, can you tell me why this issue, about which Mr. Kaepernick is so passionate" was not brought forward by Mr. Kaepernick in his prior 3 or 4 years in the league? Surely he isn't suggesting that things are getting worse under the current administration? -
Heard someone state today that the Libs take great pride in claiming that they "care" so much more about minorities, women, and other :"marginalized" groups. Only problem is that these folks are no better off despite all of that "caring". Wondering if those receiving so much "care and concern" will ever wake up and realize there is a big difference between lip service and actual results?
-
Why the "wow" headline? My guess is that he is troubled because it appears that the individual who was shot didn't deserve to be shot. However, I am sure we should be patient for the facts ( just like President Obama and NY Mayor DeBlasio instructed regarding the bombs in New York/New jersey) before we draw any conclusions. Right?

The dems have convinced so many to embrace the " I am a victim" stance
-
And why do they distrust the police?
-
You wont hear as much( from the lefties) about the Charlotte incident because the policeman who fired the shot is black. Ruins the narrative of police hunting down and shooting/killing blacks because of racial hatred.

Have you seen any of them burning down businesses and looting cities? -
Big Girl- Am very anxious to get your take on what has happened in Charlotte- Should be a conundrum for you. Police state the shooting victim had a gun and his family said he was reading a book. Is someone lying?
-
BINGO

Big Girl- and your response to the above is?

Big Girl- Since you seem to be so knowledgeable about these circumstances, can you tell me why the NFL approved of Colin Kaepernick not standing for the National Anthem but DISapproved of the Dallas Cowboys wearing an emblem on their helmet honoring policemen killed in the line of duty? -

No, it would have happened under any President. But you can bet your bottom dollar, this is the only President who would refuse to call it and every other similar attack as radically inspired Muslim terrorist attack. -

Noticed this took place in 1921. Can you provide a similar example in recent times? -

The "highly educated" have been indoctrinated to believe that the "obvious" is not very obvious and has deeper meanings/significance that we poor common folk cannot grasp. Perhaps we will hear that this is another case of economic "disenfranchisement" and if we had a government program to address this, it would not have happened. -

You could start with having a system that encourages more people to come to this country without being properly vetted. One could also say that labeling the Ft. Hood massacre as workplace violence is a subtle signal that our environment is not as vigilant and pro-active as it could/should be and hence the bad guys are emboldened.
