  1. If that's the case, Bernson and Little should have been a unanimous choice. Both players definitely had the talent and the numbers to back that up this year. Also, both teams played tough schedules. District 21-3A was one of the toughest districts in the state, and both teams played some pretty stiff competition in non-district. Orangefield played Central and then played in two very tough tournaments...Lovelady and Sulphur!!! Hardin Jefferson played probably one of the toughest schedules in the state and was very successful. Bottom line, just no love for southeast Texas teams!!!
  2. Orangefield went 3-7 last year...BC will be better, but Orangefield will be better too. Orangefield was very young last year and played several sophmores that gained valuable experience. Keep thinking that's all the Cats have!!!
  3. Kaylin "KK" Little has been offered a full basketball scholarship to San Jacinto Junior College. She was offered yesterday and will sign her letter of intent with the Lady Gators sometime next week. Congrats KK, San Jac just got the steal of the year if you ask me. Good Luck, you deserve this chance to play at the next level!!!
  4. Great year Lady Hawks...I agree, thanks for your support and comments about our Lady Cats. Both teams had incredible years!!!
  5. Were you at the game buddy...if not you have no clue as to what your talking about. I know people get on here all the time and blame officials for this or that, but this call tonight was a call that determined the outcome of this game. If the mystery T is not called, Orangefield wins the game by one!!!
  6. Wow this one really hurts yall...it's like someone just ripped your heart out. You feel so bad for these kids, to have fought and fought their way back tonight and then just when you think you've witnessed a miracle, just like that its taken away. I have never seen such a blatant call in my life. Our girls on the bench didn't run out on the court, they jumped up off the bench in celebration. If they got on the court it was a matter of inches...then on top of that the ref warns Coach Jost to settle them down! What!!! These kids had just witnessed the most amazing comeback I've ever seen in my life and they can't jump up and down in joy. So as Coach Jost turns to the bench and says sit down, the ref pauses for a few seconds and then T's our bench up. It's so bad people, it's hard to talk about. I can see if the kids stormed the floor, but they did nothing wrong. Now after KK was fouled shooting a three as the game ended, Navasota people stormed onto the court in anger at that call, but no T's were called. One of their administrators even had to go on the court to get a gentlemen that had ran out there...still no Tech. It amazes me how an adult can make a call like that in that situation with so much on the line. He literally cost our kids this game and then laughed and smiled about it all the way to his car. That's the truth too, you don't know how hard it was for myself and several others to just stand around and watch him do that. He had no care in the world about what he had just done. Very sad!!! And Stang4life, I understand what your saying. But our girls put so much into that comeback and then to have the game just taken away from you, was both mentally and physically draining. Our girls were spent and we just had nothing left in the tank.
  7. sure did...she was trying to dunk a put back!!!
  8. Fairfield 76 Diboll 67 A lot of people picked Diboll to win this region...regionals will look totally different this year. Diboll, Crockett and West Orange-Stark will not be there...hopefully 21-3A will have two teams for the third straight year.
  9. Orangefield has some kids still playing basketball and some injuries. Starting 3B has been out after getting hit in the eye/head area and 3 or 4 other key contributors still playing bball. Several sophmores are having to play till these kids get back, but they are gaining some great experience right now by playing. Orangefield is also very young...only 2 seniors on the team if I'm not mistaken. Several sophmores are starting on this team that could make some noise this year, but look for them to be really tough next year.
  10. La Grange 64 Stafford 55 Orangefield vs LaGrange Friday night 7pm...site TBD
  11. La Grange 24 Stafford 16 2 minutes left before half Orangefield plays the winner of this game Friday!!!
  12. We play the winner of LaGrange and Stafford later on this week...they play tonight in Sealy.
  13. I'll be there too...Orangefield will be there rooting both teams on. Maybe they should move this game to the Montagne Center, it's going to be a packed house!!!
  14. I know all three are good athlete's, never said they weren't. And I never said anything about height either. I hate when someone says well she's only 5'3" or whatever, bull crap, if your a player...your a player bottom line. I know KK and KB will both excel at the next level if given the chance. Let's just hope someone gives them that chance.
  15. They are all good shooters, but I actually believe that KK is the best shooter of the three. Ang and KB both create most of their shots off the dribble, not saying their not good 3pt shooting guards, but I believe both of them to be very streaky from behind the 3pt line. When we played Ang the first game, she couldn't hit a shot behind the arc...but when we played them at home she hit her first three of the night and it was on. KK has been consistent all year from behind the arc. I also believe that KB and KK are both better on the defensive end than Ang, but Ang is more athletic than the both of them overall. Her upside is huge!!!
  16. A district title that no one gave them a chance to win. She took that team on her shoulders and won...that's why she should be the Most Valuable Player of this district. Don't get me wrong, believe me I know the type of players KB and Ang are, and they are definitely the MVP's of their team, but Kaylin is the MVP of this district!
  17. Hopefully these tall guards can shot the rock...I know a pretty good shooting guard over in Orangefield.
  18. I think Orangefield finally wins one of these close games. The gym will be packed to the ceiling for this one. No girls game, so everyone will be there. It will be loud and hopefully that will get the guys over that hump. Orangefield 51 Silsbee 48
  19. Orangefield's Kaylin Little had an okay week... 24 points vs Hamshire Fannett 41 points vs West Orange-Stark
  20. The Lady Cats will be ready to play, but winning in Sour Lake will not be an easy task. I've been floored as to why HJ has slipped in the state polls. I'm a Bobcat through and through, but I still believe that HJ is one top 2 or 3 teams in region 3 and will make a long run in the playoffs. Hope my Lady Cats can do the same...should be a great game Tuesday. Good Luck Lady Hawks and let's have an injury free game for both teams regardless of the outcome.
  21. HJ is now in 2nd place by themselves...Silsbee has lost 3 district games now, HJ only 2. This will be interesting to see how these remaining games play out. If Orangefield wins Friday against West Orange-Stark, they are the outright district champs but still have HJ to play next Tuesday. Does Coach Jost try to go undefeated in district play or does he rest some of his starters for the upcoming playoffs and also not risk injury in a game that really means nothing to Orangefield playoff wise? Now pride wise, the Orangefield girls are going to want to win this one bad. They have the chance to have an undefeated district record and they know that trying to accomplish that in HJ is going to be difficult to do, but these kids love those types of challenges. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens...
  22. She is definitely one of those once in a lifetime type players. She has all the tools to compete at the next level and hopefully she gets that chance. Not a lot of people know that Kaylin has reached the 2000 point total for her career. This is not official but after doing some research, she stands at 1844 points not including her freshmen year. She averaged over 8 points a game her freshmen year, so that should have put her over the 156 points needed to get there. Still researching her freshmen year, but so far that total will be over the 200 point mark. Plus she still has 3 district games left and the playoffs. Here are her total points for each year...Updated!!! Kaylin had 209 points her freshmen year!!! 9th grade...209 10th grade...557 11th grade...643 12th grade...644 total...2053 points
