This game was a shocker to me. I thought the refs were horrible on both sides. That being said New Waverly played better and harder than Kountze.  Kountze did not block out and continued to let NW get uncontest fast break points. Kountze got outcoached and outplayed. I have no idea why Bray would be bringing the ball up.  Interior defense for Kountze was nonexistent. They definitely were not prepared for NW.

I think Kountze jumps on them early and never let's up 92-61. Hello Regionals

The best small player in Kountze was the Keithan Hancock , who scored 30+ to lead Kountze to the 3a title his senior year.  He has to be the leading scorer in Kountze history. I remember his freshman year he scored 30 plus in a game against a 4a school. If he was off Kountze had problems, but he finally got it rolling at Austin. But the best leader at guard for Kountze was Josh Hancock. Tremaine was also very good. Thanks to the Hancock family for keeping Kountze rolling thru the a whole decade.
