1. Same score going to the 4th.
2. Angleton is leading 7-0 at the half. Cats scored on a 37 yard touchdown pass. The defense has again started forcing turnovers early. They have forced 3 in the first half Angleton is having a tough time getting things going offensively. Austin is only 3-8 in passing and West only has 30 yards on the ground on 8 Carries. This Taylor team only gave up 133 yards of total offense to Katy in a losing effort a couple weeks ago. They are loaded with D1 talent on defense
3. [Hidden Content] The numbers are just like the game,  very close. Congrats to Nederland on keeping the 'Cats below the 300 yard mark. I believe last year they were averaging 450 yards a game and so far this year they were averaging the same. Hopefully we do not have to wait until next year for the next game.
4. This is a mild upset. Some have Terry making it to the regional final. Friendswood is not the team they have had in years past
5. Great game. Listen to the whole game and y'all guys did a great job of keeping the game entertaining to listen to. Great job Nederland hopefully we will see y'all in the playoffs. Everybody that made the drive to the game. Y'all have a safe trip home
6.
Angleton has missed a PAT and has 2 failed 2 point conversions.  Not sure if that is the norm, but those 5 points could come back to haunt them
really unusual for Coach Roark to continue going for 2 point conversion.
7.
Nederland is showing that they belong in this game.  4 turnovers in the 1st quarter and they never got their heads down and kept battling.  Angleton hasn't done much at all offensively. They sure run a lot of trick plays, reverses etc., but the Dogs D has been up to the challenge.  Should be a great 2nd half
Believe it or not but that is part of Angletons regular offense. That hand off then hand it back to Austin is a play they run regularly. Coach Roarks mixes "trick" plays into his regular offense like it is a simple sweep or pass. But none the less it is a great game and y'all guys are doing a great job. Keep it up
8. Also on a side note, Nederland has won all 3 contest between the two with 2 of the 3 being blowouts. So the dogs have history on their side. But hopefully Angleton can change that tonight.
9. Before anyone jumps the gun on me. I'm basing this off of what I know and have seen from this Angleton team. Everybody has talked about the 'Cats speed but imo this team is not as fast compared to the past 4 Angleton teams who all had great team speed. But this is probably one of the best offensives since 08 (41-11 record). Angleton has had good receivers in years past but they have 2 great receivers this year who are both 6"2' 200+lbs with great hands and speed, who have had no problem getting separation from the secondary so far this year. Defensive wise they are very solid. They are real good against the pass with a solid run defense. Nederland is going get their yards on the ground I can promise that but this team does a good job of making stops on short 3rd down opportunities. I see this game being close till about halfway through the 3rd when Angleton gets a hold of the game. Coach Roark and his staff do an excellent job of making halftime adjustments. I wish I could make this game but can't due to being in the hospital due to the birth of my 3rd child. Angleton 31 Nederland 21
10. Angleton had their way with rival Brazoswood. Only ran 13 offensive plays in the FIRST HALF that resulted in 6 touchdowns. They led 41-14 at the half. Had 596 yards of total offense TJ Austin was 6 of 6 for 216 yards and 3 touchdowns. This will be the last cakewalk for Angleton with Nederland coming to town this Friday and they have to travel to take on a D1 loaded Alief Taylor squad. But have to worry about Nederland first.
11. Here is Angleton's schedule. 0 @ Montgomery 1 Brazoswood 2 Nederland 3 @ Alief Taylor 4 open 5 Lamar Conslidated 6 @ George Ranch 7 Brazosport 8 @ Bay City 9 Foster 10 @ Terry
12. David Henry says that Nederland will come play in Angleton in week 3. Really looking forward to this matchup.
13. Great game Dawson earned the win. Angleton recovered a fumble with 137 left but threw a interception plays later.
14. Dawson has beat Angleton also...Very bad last year!
That was a completely different team. The main threat was Diggs, yes Jackson was there but he got hurt early and wasn't running the ball as well last year as he is this year. The #'s might tell a different story but he is a better runner this year.
I'm pretty sure Dawson is aware of the coaching change and different offense etc...  Both teams can score and both struggle on D at times... Should be a good game.  Dawson struggle hard with the run and Angleton will give up passing yards against decent teams.  Neither team should go off the past... they are evenly matched IMO.
Not basing nothing off of last year. But I totally agree with you that both teams are evenly matched. Both have their weaknesses, Angleton has trouble against the pass and they have not faced a good QB like Kimble. Dawson has trouble against the run, yes Dawson has faced La Marque but I think Angleton execution of how they run the ball is a little better then La Marque's. It wouldn't surprise me if Ryan Jackson sees some time on defense on Saturday.
15. Good Luck to both, whoever wins,,, I hope you pop the sillies out of Lake Travis!
The Wildcats have beaten Dawson before, and that was back when the 'Cats were not as well rounded, and didn't have anywhere near the depth that they do now. As far as home field advantage is concerned, it won't matter. Most of the 13 games angleton has played (and won them all, BTW) this year have been away games for them. I will give Dawson props tho, they are an excellent team also, and I believe that it will be a close one and may even end up going to OT, but A-town should be on top at the end!!... [move]Go Cats, Go!!!![/move]
Dawson has beat Angleton also...Very bad last year!
That was a completely different team. 16. Saturday 1 p.m. at The Rig in Pearland Any thoughts on this game. Setx has seen both teams in action so how do y'all think this one will turn out.
17. Angleton vs Dawson at The Rig. Coaches will flip for time and day.
18. With only a few minutes left in the Nederland-Dawson game. I have heard for sure if Dawson wins the game will be in Pearland at the Rig. Now if Nederland wins, the game will either be in Conroe at Woodforest stadium or in Cypress at the Berry Center. Saw that from a beaumont enterprise writer.

In todays Brazoria County.newspaper, it says if Dawson wins, the game will be in Pearland at the Rig. Dawson has this right because the 1st rd game last year was in Angleton. But me personally I think Nederland will pull it out and both teams will be back at Galena Park next week or at Stallworth due to the bigger capacity.
Doesn't matter. That's where Angleton beat them the first time they ever played each other couple of years back, isn't it?
No the first time they played was in '08 and Dawson beat them on Angletons homecoming  by 1 pt in OT.
20. Congrats Vidor on a great season. Y'all had a hell of a team and played hard the whole game. Now for the fans I got one word, WOW. The fan support is amazing and they stayed loud throughout the whole game. It was a pleasure playing y'all.
21.
Class 4A, Division I, Regional III Semifinal from Galena Park ISD Stadium in Houston at 6:00 p.m. The winner of this game will face Angleton, a 55-30 winner over Vidor last night.
Would you happen to know where they would play if Nederland wins (which i think will happen). I know if Dawson wins it will be in Pearland at the Rig.

23. Angleton came out flying in the 2nd half. Vidor played a hell of a game.
