What the heck!!! PNG is my second favorite team behind Vidor

Crosby just played BH this past week so actually they have been preparing for this offense for two weeks. 2. Crosby has just as many athletes as Ozen or Livingston. The Walters twins at QB and RB are very good FB players. And #76 is the biggest HS FB player these eyes have ever seen! 3. Lamarque had four loses last year and almost won it all. 4 losses mean little at this point. They played Montgomery, PNG and Dawson pre-district!!! They also have good wins over BH and PNG. 4. Wrong...BH beat Dayton and put a whoopin on Goose Creek. Beating BH is a very good W. 5. PNG has improved a lot on defense since the Crosby game, but to say Crosby hasn't improved???They beat two of the three playoff teams from their district. 6. Vidor will have an edge in the crowd. Thurday game will draw alot of local 20 4A fans (myself included). 7. I always get a kick out of the "More Heart" statement. Heart can't be measured!!! Really 5 TD's??? Vidor has scored 5 TD's 3 times all year and the only [b]team they beat by more than 3 TDs was a very bad 3A (soon to be 2A) KVille [/b]team and you think they will beat a pretty good playoff team by 35? Good Luck with that. I will be at LU rooting on the Pirates, but I will not predict a W. Crosby will be a tuff out. Remember they have a recent history of knocking off 20 4A round 1. Vidor has only made playoffs 5 times......1964, 1978, 2000,2009,2011 [/quote] Cliff Patton coached Vidor for the football season of 1974.  Ronnie Thompson coached at Vidor for the football season of 1975.  Thompson left and went to Lamar.  Joel Soileau coached the football season of 1976.  Thompson came back and coached the football season of 1977.  Thompson left again for Port Arthur TJ.

Now I am not just simply using the old logic of Team A beat Team B and Team B beat Team C so therefore Team A will beat Team C. What I am saying is, PNG can compete in a shootout. It is my personal opinion that Vidor does not have the style nor weaponry to compete in a game where the other team can score really fast. Look at it this way, gives Crosby less time to prepair for our wing-T offense and over 400 yards rushing per game. ;D

A couple of thoughts! If Crosby’s School Board would not have injected a social attitude towards Vidor 2-1/2 years ago, this is the situation we would have today. 1. Vidor and Crosby would have played each other in week 0 for the past two years. 2. Crosby would have been able to actually see and work on defending Vidor’s offense for the past two years. 3. Crosby would have been able to experience the atmosphere of what a true fan base can do to you in critical points of the game. So, what are the results of Crosby’s School Board attitude? They have seriously undermined the coaches and players to ability to prepare for Vidor and to give them the best possible chance to move to the next level.

What district?  Barbers Hill is not in the same district as PNG, Nederland, Vidor, etc.  Each district has it's own coach of the year.

If everyone will remember the Beaumont Enterprise story about Southeast Texas High School Football and which programs make money and which programs do not.  The only two programs that make money, PNG led with Vidor second. [Hidden Content]

All Vidor Teams and Band travel with Vidor ISD Police escort.  We even hire extra in the event that several teams are playing on the same night.

Central's Team Captain show up and spoke at Matt's funeral.  What a great show of unity.

I remember in the late 70's, kids got together and was going to burn their schools letters on Longview's field.  Oops, went horribly wrong, the field was Astroturf and burned the whole damn thing up.  Back then there were only a few high school fields that had turf and it was the old stuff.
