The UIL is soft. No place for this type of behavior in sports period! Maybe if we keep slapping wrists, we will end up like European soccer matches.
Ummm  They weren't put on notice before the game.. They were put on notice after bench clearing (fight) DURING the game. Which goes back that the "adults" were responsible...
How do we know for sure that notice was put out.  Seems like a "We did our part to prevent it" statement being put out there.  I guarantee you that neither A.D. nor the Head Coach (at least for Beaumont Ozen) was told that there would be no handshake after the game. Because if they were, there wouldn't have been one.  They wouldn't go against law enforcement's orders just to shake hands with the other team.  Especially after a playoff loss.
(POSTED BY WOSgrad) From the Baytown PD Use of Force Report: "After the game resumed, there still seemed to be a tension between the two teams.  During the remainder of the game, I contacted Sgt. K. Hampton the on duty patrol supervisor and advised him we may have potential problems at game's end.  Shortly after this Cpl. Steven Denton (the game's police coordinator) advised that at the conclusion of the game both teams would immediately exit the field in an effort to avoid anymore confronations.  It was my understanding [as well as Cpl. Denton's] that when he was told this, that the two teams would not meet in the field to shake hands, as is tradition, but would exit the field immediately."
Again, how do we know that this actually took place?  How do we know that both coaches and A.D.'s received word that the handshake was not supposed to happen?  People on here are making it seem as if the coaches went against what was "advised".  In the quote above, they never specifically mentioned who they advised.  They just said that they advised that there would be no handshake.  Who did they advise?  Each other?  If that's the case then it was up to them to prevent the handshake.

 4. The suspension from playing football is available provided either school continues to exhibit this behavior during the probationary period.  To me, Manvel getting an off week in the 4th round would've put an end to such situations.
Well, how do you work that into a general conversation?  I haven't seen any discussions of who's the best coach ever at West Brook - and, in my opinion, that would be Coach Durley.  I guess you could say, "If Durley was there you can bet they'd have a field house!"  Do you see what I'm asking - what point are you making? ???
Best coach conversations are brought up all of the time.  I mean, as many issues as people have with coaching in this area, you always hear people making comparisons.  I do understand that WB's State Championship season was almost 30 years ago but you know how championship coaches are always quoted or mentioned in some way, shape or form.  That's all I'm saying.  The coaching list just reminded of that when I saw Durley on there.
Per Jordan Godwin via Twitter La Marque coach Mike Jackson livid over the two-year probation his program was handed by the UIL today in Austin.
Livid for what?  Because he did his part by suspending 4 water boys, 3 JV players, 2 cheerleaders and 2 bandmembers for their playoff game vs. Mavel?  He should be glad that HE didn't get probation like the Ozen coach did.  That was his reward for handing out the so-called suspensions for the playoff game.  UIL said that they were pleased with the action he took and that that's why HE didn't get probation.
Will definitely be in the house to cheer on the Titans.
I can't say what will happen in regards to Ozen's self dicipline (I am hopeful that they will properly address the situation), but I am confident that based on how many years LM has brought the "in your face, taunting attitude", if anything they will reward their players for their actions.  It will not stop at LM until they are punished severely from the outside. The UIL is a coward in this situation.  The excuse that it happened after the final horn sounded but the kids were still on the field reeks of a yellow spine!
Ozen's situation is being handled.  Trust me!!!
 10.
LaMarque may have been deemed dirty for years....more then likely talked a lot of trash...as a lot of players do.  There are 2 sides to every story.  If the game is over...there should be no extra pushing and shoving....Ozen had a Great season, hate for it to end like this.  was it ozen or lamarque players that got maced, I have heard different vrsions.  I heard Ozen started the after game fight and LaMarqe got maced.    And I heard the opposite.
It was the opposite.  Ozen got pepper-sprayed.  It was opposite.  Ozen was pepper-sprayed.
 11.
I'm going to say this.  It is not the cops job to mace football players.  The cops are there for crowd control and crowd control only.  If I was the parents of the ozen players the law suits should start.  It is the coach’s job to control the players.  This really P**** me off.  Ozen we support you and all of you guys are a class act and if there were some Beaumont ISD cops or Beaumont Police there and they mace the players, they should be fired and brought up on charges.
No BISD cops sprayed anything.
