Didn't we beat Anahuac?
Yes EC proved to be better when it mattered
I was there just wanted to hear his explanation
He cant have an explanation that would make sense. jmo  ;D
 3. Yeah, I just like duke blue better JMO  ;)
it's no big deal to me. just proves that he doesn't have an argument to back up his statements.
No its not that he doesnt have an argument, its just that when someone says Orangefield will beat WOS we are at a loss for words.  It just doesnt make sense

 6. POOR OField... they are sneaky after they snap the ball though... their backfield is so small you dont know who has the ball or where they are going.  I honestly think they could take over the reality show "Little People Big World"
 7. have you ever seen china springs jerseys? solid queer blue... i guess U of North Carolina's jerseys r too
 8.
It doesn't matter because 22-2A top three teams are better than 23-2A top three. So it will be an early exit from the playoffs for that district again this season
OUCH... dang EagleFan01, tell us how you really feel :) but I agree with you
 9. and Alfred was the best thing since sliced bread! so will he be back for the playoffs?
 10. I think Kirbyville has the better overall team, but Kelvin Bennett is the most explosive and fast back I have seen since Todd Pendland.  Had Bennett not shared the backfield with others so much his stats would be unreal, and didnt he start this year as the backup?
 11. I heard the Newton crew is going to have to broadcast from a bucket lift on one of the Newton city trucks!  I guess whatever works :)
Newton's bennet is a junior too, right?
 13.
I think all of the SE Texas teams should be ranked a bit higher than they are.  Great football being played down there right now.....
Nah rankings dont mean anything... besides its more fun to sneak up on people.  I know in 2A, Kirbyville and Newton are two of the best 5 teams with Daingerfield, Arp, and Muleshoe.  It would be nice if they brought both trophies back to southeast tx!
 14.
Newton by 21+
neither team will win by double digits
 15. This should be a great game... two teams that will both have a shot at a state title D1 and D2.  Newton's offense is scary good, but Kirbyville will be the best defense they have seen.  I think it will be a very good warm up game for the playoffs.  I hope it is injury free and both teams go on to represent southeast texas well.  Im not going to predict the winner because I think both teams have been equal thus far.  I just know a great team will win and a great team will lose friday night.  Hopefully none of the guys lose any confidence if they are on the losing team.
Give us some statistical information to support this claim, otherwise, it is just your opinion. We have given statistical data to support Cornel Thompson. How many times, if at all, has Newton or Kirbyville had the number 1 defense in the state in 3A much less all classes while he coached them? I'd bet it is a big fat ZERO.
Ill give you a statistic... WT has two state rings in the last ten years... how many does Cornel have???? hmmmmmmm
 17. I agree... both teams have a good chance.  They are loaded with athletes like always and their coaching is first class.  I would like to see both the D1 and D2 trophies back in southeast tx! IMO the top five 2A teams are far above the others... i would say 1. Daingerfield 2. Muleshoe, 3. Newton 4. Kirbyville and 5. Arp... I believe that the two trophies will go to two of these five teams.
 18. WT is the best defensive coordinator around.  Kirbyville wanted him to be their d coordinator but he did not want to step on any toes and take vanya's place.  And Im sure he will not be in Kville forever.  He is going to be the heir to Barbay in Newton once Curtis (if he ever does) hangs up his hat.  Im sure Newton would pay WT whatever it takes for him to take over after barbay.
 19.
EC's song should be "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie!
like you can talk, with ur little hampshire fannet logo.  I wouldnt go to a hampshire fannet game even if my own children were on the team... If I had to choose between the two, I would send my kids to EC

YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!! I am convinced that championeagle is just trying to set himself up for a built in excuse if Newton were to lose this game.
I guess thats one way to do it... but im pretty sure it will be a great game between two great programs

Imo to be the best you need to beat the best which doesn't happen in this situation
Excellent. I agree, then this game with Kirbyville would have all the shine and glory it used to.
Im glad barbay's and alvarez's teams dont have the same panzy attitude you have.  Football is supposed to be physical and injuries are a part of it... that's why people talk about "depth" and how important it is.

well i wasnt gonna call you stupid, but since you did it yourself i dont have to.  I was just going to call you confused
 22.

unless you come in 2nd in district
I would'n't remember if we had been tied for third and advanced on a coin flip.
ChampionEagles, It would not be as great of a season if say Newton or Kirbyville win state in their respected divisions but came in second place in district.  Then you would have people saying well if Kville was in d2 they would have won it, or newton saying "well since we beat Kirbyville in district and Kville won state in D1, newton would have won state in D1" You must not understand the real attitude of the coaching staffs or of the majority of the fans from these two towns.  Bragging rights... its all about Bragging rights.  And I can guarantee every player suited up that Friday night in week ten will play their hardest to bring home the district trophy.
I understand perfectly and having played in this game in years past I understand all about bragging rights. Since the advent of the multiple teams to the playoffs, IMO, it has removed a lot of the importance of being the district champion. I believe San Augustine and Garrison both took state championships a few years back from the same district. Can you tell me which one was district champion? It is more important to be healthy and ready to compete in the playoffs. I've not said to throw this game. This is what is being attributed to me. Sure you try to win it. But not at all cost. There are more important things down the road. Those with inexperience at getting to and winning the state trophy, don't have a clue as to what it takes.
I think both teams will come out of that game tested and ready for the playoffs.  The game will have a playoff atmosphere, so they both have an advantage of having such a great battle right before the playoffs.
