I love that folks like to guess before the games are played... ;). People keep forgetting that this is baseball and these are only high school kids playing so anything can happen, and usually does. EC bats are much better than in years past, so is the pitching. I'm not calling a winner in this one but should be a good game.  There is one player from each team that will be playing together for Lamar next year.

[/quote] I have only casually paid attention to EC basketball this season so I'm unable to refute any accurate points that you make in this statement.  I find it plausible that each of the five starters has been "high-point" for the game this season.  What seems to be a stretch is that SEVERAL of the bench players have also been high-point for the game.  Now, assuming that EC is carrying 12 on the varsity, that leaves seven on the bench - not considering foul-outs.  Could you be more specific in you quantity of SEVERAL?  And when you find the specific number would you please name them - just for the sake of clarification, I mean. This EC team is not the same team that BS beat at the BEGINING of the season.  EC had just started playing basketball, new offense, defense, coach, and 2 starters out with injury.  This team has come together as a group.  Each member of the current starting 5 have been a high scorer for at least one game and several of the bench players have been high scorers this season. EC always travels with security for the teams.  I have not seen any security at the YES Prep schools excluding the game we played at a church when we played SW, but he never came into the gym and some YES Prep officals wanted our security (Constable from Winnie) to remove one of our fans from the gym for yelling at the refs.  He did not, but the individual left for the remainder of the girls game and returned for the boys game.  ???

[/quote] It has been an eye opening experience with the awful, one sided officiating in every game we have played at a YES Prep school...  Just case in point, we had one player foul out who has never even come close to getting 4 fouls in any game all season when we played Southeast on Friday night.  The Bucs did great and handled the adversity with class and pulled off the win.  8)

EC - 45 YES Prep SE - 43 I think... I only know EC won in spite of the officiating...

Kelly has two playing with injury and has lost 3 in a row...  EC is health right now and is 11-0 in district play.  That said, the way the rankings work,  you lose games you drop in the rankings.

Just some numbers EC averages: Season 63 pts/gm and gives up 49 pts/gm In district 79 pts/gm and give up 38 pts/gm 11-0 in District 25-2A 8)

EC 82 YES Prep SW 29 Final

You can't say how any team would play against any other team on any given day.  That is why they play the games.  EC started out the year with two experienced point guards out with injury from football and they didn't start playing until district got started.  They also have a new head coach who has installed a whole new system and it has taken time for the chemistry to gel.  I think they would beat most of the teams they played and lost to earlier in the year, but that is the way the chips fall.  EC is 10-0 in district play averaging over 80/game and giving up less than 50/game and has earned their spot in the top 12 of the area and #20 in the state during the course of this season... remember they fell out of the rankings earlier this year and have fought to get back to the top. Could Kelly beat EC, who knows? 8)
