Call me greedy or foolish, but just once turn the kid loose, win or lose, good game plan or bad game plan, just once feature him for the entire game. The kid has earned it, and he is a senior, plus, I just like the kid and his attitude, all around great kid....Now if they come out and beat Central playing a slowed down half court game that pounds the ball inside and they win,,,,, forget everything I said, well, almost every thing....Dogs win this on Soulja...... Wow! never thought I'd ever be able to say that, but how true,,,champs in both right now,,,, now for a more serious topic, I simply want to see the English kid featured more, that is just me as a fan with a want, I want the win, but would just like to see him go off and the team feed off of him for an entire game, just once...I have no dog in the fight just a fan with a want,,, the district still goes through Nederland until they are no longer champs....

In order for the Dogs to win they need to turn English loose and let him rain in 3's,,,,,,little partial to watching this kid shoot the ball. Hope he rips twenty 3 point attempts.....

Nederland wins 58 to 53 behind a hot hand of English raining 3's! I would love to see this kid get 20 looks behind the arch, just one night! Never know!!!

Good luck to all finalists! Kid from Vidor is a player. True statements made about All-state selections. You really need some Houston exposure to make it. Always helps to go two rounds deep in the playoffs so you do.

I don't think Georgetown has the individual player talent as Dawson had. They do however seem to play better as a team. Nederland is at a different level on defense now. Beating the Dawson team raised their confidence to another notch. Georgetown has not seen 4 down lineman as dominating as Nederland and linebackers who are smart and can cover the running backs on pass plays, something Georgetown does. This will make our secondary even better. Maybe Georgetown has a slight edge on speed but I'll take our pass rush and man cover and move on to next week. All our offense has to do is be patient. Let Hopkins pound on em for first downs, eat up the clock, and win 24 to 20. Bye the way, I'm already standing at the gate waiting for them to let me in.......Anyone need me to save them a seat????

One of my favorite times of the game was when our dominant defense would tackle #2 and drive him back in the ground. I just know our linemen were talking smack while he was laying on his back. Something like, this is what a REAL defense feels like, get use to it. Seems like every time we nailed him to the ground he didn't like being there. Gotta love a dominant defense. Dawson couldn't do nothing but throw the Hail Mary backyard playground pass. I may be not giving our defense and coaches enough respect, make that 9 our of 10 times we bear Dawson.

I forgot to mention the Spell connection. The Spell family is as good as it gets people. We, meaning our town, is lucky to have men coaching our kids with the character they carry. Next Saturday can't get here soon enough.

Couldn't be more happy to see Seth Barrow catch the game winner, ever more happy due to the Coach calling the plays being his Dad and Coach. I'm not sure what play was called but when Raines extended the play and found Barrow in the endzone to me it was the perfect ending to a great game and moment that both Dad/Coach/Son/Player and all us fans will never forget.

I picked Shaw to score first but Barrow too always seems to make the big play when we need one. Pound for pound the Barrow kid is solid.
