Rules should not be bent for any reason – playoffs, timing, etc. It’s much better for all involved to learn a painful lesson in high school when the stakes are relatively low than later in life. I hope both coaches, schools and school districts, and the UIL, deal with this quickly, decisively and with the severity that it warrants. This is about high school kids in a learning environment.
