1. And if any of you can figure out how to get the Lamar fans spirited please let me know.  Sometimes I think that we should rename Vincent Beck.  "The Cemetery"  it is so quite.  Even when we are winning.... But at least everyone gets used to my loud mouth,  I just cannot figure a way to get them going.
2. I know that there are plans for some big tailgating before the games.  I know of at least 3 companies that have bought multiple parking spots to set up their tailgating..
3. Baseball25. When you were at CC was there a grou of rowdy rude students. Called the blue crew? So rude the school adm. Had to sit by them. Very inappropriate behavior. Some parents with small children had to move because of th drunken rowdiness and foul language
4. Yes at times they have been down and I have discussed this with some of the players and even coaches.  This team has a very different chemistry than in the past few years.  But I do know that the players had a come to Jesus meeting and they really have a better attitude and are more vocal and supportive the past 10 days.  G has and always will be a hard nose guy, but let me tell you something.  Some players may get really mad at him at times but they will all jump to defend him.
5. OK Chucky baby.  What is your association with Lamar?  Are you a disgruntled ex player or what???  My understanding is that Andy was a volunteer coach at Lamar working on his masters,  He finished an left for a paying job... Gilligan is and always will be one of the best pitching coaches around.  I know many pitchers over the years that have played  beyond college and most will tell you they never had anyone as good a G.
6. LU showed up to this ballgame.  Very good performance out of Matison Smith.  They are playing at Whataburger Field the home of the Astros minor league team the Hooks.  What a nice stadium.....
7.
LU falls in game 2.
Correction KFDM COOP.  Lamar lost game 3 ended the series 2 and 1.  Left too many on just could not get them in today.  Just wanted to say it was great to see all the players and family get together for a little Easter picnic afterward.  Then to watch them with the little ones hunt Easter eggs.  Fun was had by all.  Lots of laughs and silly string.  Thanks to all the wonderful parents for putting it together.....
8.
Who is Simmons?
lol....Dr Jimmy Simmons is the President of Lamar Glad to know they have been out!
9. Any one seen Tubbs or Simmons at any baseball games?  Just curious someone was asking last night and I really do not pay attention to who is in the stand!!!
10. What a weekend.  just cannot get everyone going in the same direction at the same time.  Then to add insult to injury the bus caught on fire just east of Trinity River Bridge.  As I understand another empty bus was headed to casinos and picked them up and brought them back to Beaumont...  we did have a few shining moments this weekend,,,,,but...
11. OK, I except that you have your right to your opinion and I guess we have to agree to disagree....No talk of religion, politics or Gilligan...lol  Yes I did think that you pitched but when I tried to find the box score of that game could not find it just who got the win for CC.  When I found out it was you I had to laugh because the first thing I though of was when Will was a freshman at Kelly and pitched against you at the Lumberton tournament.  You hit a homerun off of him. I think you were either the first or second batter he had ever faced in HS. And when he got his homerun off you it was sweet. lol.  Thank for the shout out about MLG.  When did you go?  Will is working there as a manager and really is having fun...
12.
I said the southland is a two bid noW that means each and every yr southland should get two teams to regionals bec th conf is respectful conf in the nation nowwww, lumberton hs, hold the record for most hrs in a yr and career and have the rEcord for best era in a yr, played at Galveston jc named top 100 best players In stateof Texas for area code games going into my sr yr, went to Texas a&m corpus Christi, last 2 yrs. Been around the game all of my life and and my cousin pitches for the Boston red sox, I know the game of baseball very well, I'm speaking my opinion on Lamar baseball and I feel that lamar needs to bring back some life to this program and swagger, gilligAn time has gone, he was a heck of a coach but your time comes, and there is nothing wrong with that it's just life, I know life isn't fair but you just got to deal with, people in this world these days need to be more realistic but they aren't, I'm just being real.
There's your answers everyone! He's a snot nose Lumberton kid who's stuck up on himself, that feels he must name-drop to feel he's important, and apparently MAD at Gilligan because he was not good enough to play for Lamar.
And doesn't mind basking in Clay's glory, either!
You guys don't realize if it wasn't for injuries he would've beat Clay to the pros, and there would be two pro ball players in the same family. Everyone knows I'm from Lumberton, and you can call me a snotty nosed kid all you want but I'm going to defend him because I actually know him unlike ya'll. He DOESN'T hate Lamar or Coach G, or he wouldn't be wasting his time on this board. He can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure he pitched against Lamar SEVERAL times and won.. So you can't say he wasn't good enough to play there. He had Big 12 offers too.. Too far from home. So quit saying he hates Gilligan and wasn't good enough to play for Lamar. I don't see how you guys don't realize all he's saying is if Lamar plays a stronger preseason schedule it will make THEM look better and make THEM more prepared for conference. He's not saying they suck or he hates them.. Get off it.
OK, I know know who Baseball25 is and I am pretty sure who AJ25 is....not that it really matters, but it does help me understand where he is coming from.  I have known this family since before Baseball 25 was a snot nose kid -lol.  I know there is history between G and his oldest brother.  So I know why maybe his bitterness toward G shows a little in his post.  Yes BB25 I once again state that Southland Conf. has been a 2 team conf. for the past decade.  It has been shown a lot of respect especially in the early part of this decade.  Yes LU had a good team when Millar, Gafford, Green, Aven,  But they have had good teams since then.  The 2003 team fell just short of beating Texas in the if game to go to a super-regional.  Yes BB25 was a very talented player  both offensively as a batter and a very good pitcher who was hampered with injuries.  (AJ25 - you stand corrected.  He took the loss to LU in 05 in Bmt and if my memory serves me right he did not pitch when LU played them in CC. that year.  He did not pitch in the game we won down there and I know he did not get the win in that game..)  I find it very interesting that BB25 you do not come to the games, and can be assured you do not watch them practice.  So therefore you can not judge this teams chemisty or if they have swagger by reading the Box scores and articles about the won-losses. Every program has their ups and downs.  even Texas, A&M, Rice, U of H, Nebraska, LSU and even Lamar.  Recruiting has been good and we have some talent.  My wish is that we talk about the individual games past and ones coming up.  Oh and as far as name dropping..  nothing wrong with that.  I am proud to be a friend of Clays and is cousin was every bit as good.  I am proud to be related to a few current and ex Big Leaguers myself!!! BTW- BB25 thanks for the positive on the posting for todays game.  Anytime you want to come out and watch let me know.  I have plenty of tickets....Yell that lovely wife hello, I have not talked to her in ages.  And I see you have a future Softball player and a baseball player....Congrats/  Also heard Clay is going to have a softball player too......
13. Taylor McInnis came in and shut down TX ST.  Very impressed and proud after he came in last night.  The go ahead run scored on a wild pitch from Taylor last night right after he took the mound.  He hit the next batter and was pulled.  He really came back tonight and did a great job.
14.
thats when the southland was down, the southland is a 2 team bid now for regionals, other teams are getting better and there program is moving up we are talking about now, not 1985 not 2004, its 2010 things change man.
OK Mr. Know it all and always have the facts right.  Not this time...... You say that Southland is not a 2 team bid for regionals now not 2004.  Well in the first 6 years there were 3 with 2 bids only 1 in last four years.  Seems like the conference may have been stronger in the earlier part of the decade.  2000  Tx State and McNeese 2003 Lamar and McNeese - BTW  LU was one out away from winning this regional at Texas 2005 UTSA and Northwestern 2009 TX State and Sam Houston State Also you continually talk about the last 5 years.  And how Lamar has not gone to Regionals.  They have however been very competitive in the Southland Conference... Conference Winners last decade....  Lamar won their division but lost championship UTSA had better record... 2001 .....................................Northwestern State      Lamar 6th 2002 .....................................Northwestern State      Lamar 3rd Louisiana-Monroe 2003 .....................................Lamar 2004 .....................................Lamar 2005 .....................................Northwestern State        Lamar 2nd 2006 .....................................McNeese State                Lamar 4th 2007 .....................................UTSA1                            Lamar 2nd 2008 .....................................UTSA1                            Lamar 2nd 2007 Lamar UTSA2 2008 Lamar UTSA2 2 The Southland played in divisions in 2007, 2008. UTSA was declared the regular-season champion based on overall record. 2009 ......................................Texas State                    Lamar 4th Ok man get off it.  Lamar has not been on a slide into the cellar.  So zip it and lets talk about the games.  ShlyKBMT and time2time are correct.  I do not agree with everything that G does but he has been great for Lamar and HE STILL IS!!!!!! Hey Baseball25.  Where are you from? What high school did you attend?  Where did you play college ball?  Just curious.....
15. I love how people try to speak for others and what they want.  Baseball25 is great in telling us what we want...  Well I am 54 years old a Lamar Alum, have live in Beaumont for 46 of those years and have always supported Lamar and its athletic programs.  So I do not need you to speak for me and what you think my expectations are of any athletic program at Lamar. Now for all of you who are trying to figure out what this poll was far.  Just curiosity!!!!  I do not care if you are a season ticket holder, or a Cardinal Club member.  I was just wondering how many of you were true Lamar supporters.  Being a fan is more than just getting on your computer and griping about the programs.  Yes it is great to get on here and read what everyone posts but for the few that can have absolutely nothing to say that is positive.....Well it is just redundant and old....  It is a shame that more people do not buy season tickets, even if they do not make it to many games.  There are many who would like to use them when you are not.  They are $80 for reserved and $60 for gen. adm.  That is $2.50 and $1.50 per game when regular prices are $7 and $4.  Of course I am sure most of you have not thought that this is a great way to support the program.  Also in becoming a member of the Cardinal Club you can help support all aspects of athletics at Lamar, from scholarships to improvements. By the way yes Walter, Wayne, Glen, and many others have given a lot to improve our University but they are not the only ones.  Many people go above and beyond and one person who deserves a shout out is Henry Strait who is making the new batting cages a reality. So for all of you who were offended that I just wanted to know whether most were fans that supported the school with your time and money or if you are just a fan that is critical most of the time.  Yes I understand that some are unable to attend because of work or kids,  at one time I could not come out because of prior commitments.  but if you have a problem with the Lamar athletic programs, why don't you help us make a difference... Elaine Millar
16.
just because we make remarks about lamar doesn't mean we aren't fans of the program. I am just telling y'all how I feel about the program right now, I am a die hard Seminoles Fan, I haven't missed a football game in 15 yrs, but you know what I wanted Bowden to go because he was hurting the overall program, it was time for a change, they needed a new young Face to come in that was cocky and had some swagger to him. I know sometimes the TRUTH hurts, but you know what Change doesn't hurt, there is nothing wrong with change, I mean people on here act like Gilligan is a  Wayne Graham/Mike Martin type coach lol, because I tell you this much if Rice keeps struggling like they are this yr, you are going to here some whispers.
I am not going to take the time to list of of G's accomplishments but there are many.  Wonder what all those people thought to elect him to the Texas Baseball hall of fame/  He still holds records in the minor leagues for ???? I think it was 29 consecutive wins.... You act as if Gilligan has never done anything for this program
17.
You play to go to regionals I guess Lamar fans are happy to just make the conf tourney lol and gilligan can't get it done in the conf tourney.
We not only want to go to regionals but to the the CWS.  That is every college baseball bans drea.  Gilligan can and will "get it done"
18.
Well there aren't many I guess, since attendance has gone down hill in the last 8 yrs big time, alot of bitter people on here, when you get bitter that just means you know it's the truth.
Actually the last 8 years the attendance at home games has been about the same.  Averaging around 500. Some games 4 to 5 hundred...Others over 700.  Maybe may have dropped off 25 to 50 at most... But many games have more.  So Baseball 25  beat a new drum.  Attendance needs to be better but unlike you there are many Cardinal Fans that attend on a regular basis and cheer them on win or lose.
19. I will be sure and let Rice know that Baseball25 thinks they are a bunch of cupcakes..... Both Stewart and McInnis both pitched against them.  These kids are struggling right now.  Hopefully it can all come together for the pitching staff and soon.
20. Are you a season ticket holder for Lamar Baseball?  Yes If not do you go to the games and buy Gen. Admission?  N/A Are you a member of the Cardinal Club? Yes and on the Board Do you attend at least 75% of home games at Vincent Beck?  At least 99% plus
21. Are you a season ticket holder for Lamar Baseball? If not do you go to the games and buy Gen. Admission? Are you a member of the Cardinal Club? Do you attend at least 75% of home games at Vincent Beck? Copy and paste to answer>
22. I am almost too angry to post but......We actually have some very strong pitchers who just are not performing right now.  Just because someone has a bad outing or even two doesn't mean doodly squat.  Guys that make gazillions of dollars have off days and even several off days.  Get over it.  yes we are struggling right now but I have faith in them.  Do not give a rats ass if you don't.  By the way how many of you very critical posters actually go to the game and give your support?  Would be interesting if you would post yes or no....  Matter of fact I think I will start a new thread.  Go to it and tell us all if you are a season ticket holder, belong to the cardinal club and attend at least 75% of home games at Vincent Beck. Lamar supporter for over 35 years. Elaine Millar
23. I have decided that thinking about RPIs today is like looking at someone's batting average the first 15 at bats.  No indication on how the rest of the season will be!!!!!
24.
I forgot about Lamar mens basketball along time ago!!!!!!  Two front row season tickets may be up for grabs next season!!!
Cannot believe that you would be a fair weathered fan..  Disappointed!!!!!!
25.
The women are still playing!
You Bet they are and Winning too!!!!!! GO Lady Cards.  We are sooooooo proud of you!!!
