  Republicans have traditionally been the party of lower taxes and less entitlements (although there are more and more big spender Republicans now) and the Democrats have been the party of higher taxes and more entitlements.   The Democrats have pushed stricter gun control from time to time when the political atmosphere was right.   So, in my opinion, one party is better than the other...of course, you can find plenty of folks that think the Democrats are "better".

What about those that go around the globe providing food and medical needs to the impoverished for no other reason than that God compels them to...is that dumb?

  It makes no difference to me whether or not anyone "cares" about me in Washington...I want someone there that wants to manage the few tasks (although big ones) that the fed gov should be involved in...period.   Too many people vote on someone based on what they will do for them or give to them...that's completely backwards.   Take care of yourself and don't look for anything from the fed gov beyond the handful of enumerated powers listed in the Constitution that we actually pay for.   To think a third party won't grow into a monster also is wishful thinking IMO.

  So if you had a brother-in-law that repeatedly cheated on your sister would you have no opinion on his behavior so as not to "judge" him?   I doubt it.   Just because I may disagree with someone's choice of lifestyle doesn't mean I am judging them.   You seem to be doing the judging towards Christians because you don't agree with their beliefs.
