Coldspring did not respect the pass at all. They stacked up 9 an 10 within five yards of the line of scrimage all night long. If our passing game was better, the game would have been a little more interesting. When we did throw, our receivers were wide open. Sometimes the quarterback missed, sometimes the receivers missed. I can't see Coldspring playing the pass against Huffman the same way, but I also can't see them covering their receivers. All of that said, good luck to anybody in the district who thinks they can stop Coldspring's running game. Huffman vs Coldspring should be very interesting.

Splendora was down 39-28 at halftime. Now in fourth quarter, down 61-44.

I don't know what happened to them, but they are better than that (not to speak poorly of Evadale). Splendora played them twice, and split the games. The one we lost to them, I would chalk up as anomoly. The officiating was so bad, that when Tarkington was playing with six on the floor, the officials were going to allow them to take a time out to get the extra player off the court. Splendora's coach had to argue vigorously to get the tech. Tarkington's strategy against Splendora was to rotate all five players at one time. Both groups seemed to play equally well. They shoot the ball well. They have a couple of very good three point shooters. Their inside game is starting to develop, but probably isn't up to the level it needs to be. Good luck OF.

Silsbee has some impressive basketball players. Ms. Washington was everything she was made out to be. She was able to score from anywhere on the floor. Number 22 played her heart out in the second half. I have to say that Splendora's girls stepped it up when some of the usual suspects were held in check. We're proud of the little freshman who made the two freethrows, under all of that pressure at the end of the game.
