*PN-G vs. Barbers Hill...PN-G Wins/Comments*
HillGuy replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
6 turnovers so far. BH turns the ball over 4 times in first quarter (3 int's and one fumble returned for TD)...PNG has thrown 2 int's. Pretty sloppy! BH had 6 1st downs in 1st q, PNG 1. BH defense looking good and O is moving the ball well, but we keep giving the ball back! -
Who is this Noone person you keep talking about??? 8) Weed...great analysis! But Westside's postition was more about "whining" than "winning". Pretty darn close though! Wow, my positive and negative karma went up about 8pt each on this one. Thanks and no thanks I guess. I'm out!

Sorry, don't think we are ready yet. PNG 20 - BH 7. Hope I'm wrong. -
No thanks and no reason to...thats what HS softball is for...see you in the playoffs next spring

Yeah it is and I'm making a choice NOT to listen to anymore whining without calling it what it is. You make a decision to do something, fine, stand by it, but quit whining about what people are saying about it. Intensity accomplished a good thing. Nobody is taking away from that...but their supporters want to get on this forum and fish for compliments and complain...I just don't get it. Of course, they have that right to do so! I'm just excersizing my right to say its getting old.
-
Wow...you know, I think I've read every post regarding the Intensity players from the time they left where they were and formed the team. I don't think I've read ONE that wished them UN-well. Sure there were folks that said HOW and WHEN it happened was wrong, but never heard or read anyone saying that they wished they fell on their faces and failed. Did you want everyone to get on here and say "Go Intensity!"???? I also saw a LOT of congratulatory posts...was there not enough of those???? Intensity did a great job of winning a third-tier "National" tournament and there was actually a handful of really good teams...and they played very well, were consistent and came out on top. That's awesome! But here is the deal...Nederland has a very GOOD HS team...A very GOOD high school team can compete well in A ball. There are a number of HS teams in the Houston/Beaumont area that could do the same, including Barbers Hill...but they don't. Why do you think that is? Its not because they CAN'T...its because they don't want to. Parents understand that seeking out quality clubs where their DD can play with different girls (all of which want to play college ball) of varying skill levels will ultimately help them by learning new things. Nobody I read or talked to thought Intensity was doing the WRONG thing (with forming the team). That they were successful should surprise nobody, and I don't think it did! Its just that putting a HS team into a select environment is just so out of the ordinary and against the traditional notion of letting HS players mix it up with girls outside of their district to improve and get exposure. I just don't get where you saying basically "we just don't get no respect"...what exactly do you WANT from folks on here? The only ill feelings I read or heard were about leaving existing teams at a bad time...nothing about Intensity doing well. Get over it...everyone else has.

BH Vs. Cleveland Saturday!!!!!Indians Win
HillGuy replied to BHFAN's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Cleveland is loaded this year. And remember, BH is one of the smaller 4A schools in the state. Cleveland IS loaded...they should dominate their district this year. Lots of pieces to figure out for the Hill, Cleveland looked better prepared, but they returned a lot, so not surprising. Did not see any standout play for BH in this one. Historically (at least in the last few years) it takes BH a while to get it together.......we'll see. -

Sounds like Dayton's A.J. Dugat has grade problems....

The compliance center sometimes works slowly. Important to get your stuff into them as early as possible. Sounds like he should be fine, just an administrative holdup. -

Yeah, but our one-act play cast can beat your one-act play cast ;D Good luck to the Broncos this year, except for one friday nite. -
FYI....... Wild, wooly 4A title game must-see TV By Dave Rogers Published August 12, 2009 Defensive coordinators and fans of grind-it-out football beware. Everyone who likes a wide-open football game, however, should be sure to set the DVRs for today at 3 p.m. That’s when FOX SportsNet Houston will be replaying last December’s Class 4A championship game between Dayton and Sulphur Springs. Without giving away the final score to anyone with a bad memory or without Internet, let’s just say it was the highest scoring Texas state championship game ever. FOX likes to cut out boring drives and fast-forward through its replay games. Since just about every play resulted in a touchdown, that could be hard to do. I’ve been watching football games for a living for nearly 40 years and this is one I definitely will be collecting and watching for another 40 years, God and the healthcare bill willing. Needless to say, I count myself blessed to have been in the Alamodome that day. And glad my hands didn’t fall off after all the frantic play-by-play typing. “I guess the only defense worse than theirs was ours,†the losing head coach said. The only thing better than the quotes was the offensive mastery. Even if you saw it in December – and you feel the wrong team won – check it out today. And record it. So you can see it again and again.

I'm guessing we will see both taking snaps, at least early in the season. May need Viverette in the secondary for some opponents. Also think that to make the playoffs and maybe win a round, 3-4 kids may have play go both ways most of the time in critical games. Whaterver happens, ready to see them strap it up and get after it! Go Eagles!

When we went out at noon, I think nearly alll the fields were playing. Some fields behind about 1.5 to 2 hrs. The field crews did a great job after some really heavy rain last night. Wow it was nice to play in some cool air this morning! Too bad we're out, but the 14u Shockers (Soignet) made a good run, finally losing to to Cy Fair Shock 6-5. Want to thank Craig Soignet and Kyle Naivar for all their coaching efforts this year...and really good bunch of kids and parents...great season!
