So do you still feel like ya'll can beat Silsbee and Hj in 2012. Shouldn't setx be worried about Ktz Lil dribblers team in 2012 instead of H.F team? We won Nationals, yall didn't.
Correction! Hunter boy! Man..you are really hatin' on the Hunters. But anywho...you were there..you know J. Hunter was injured..plagued w/ a muscle pull most of the tourney and still kicked butt! Oh and you guys must'ave been shakin in your boots come u came and studied us at regionals and every game at nationals! Lastly..at heart we were the true champs..we had to fight from the bottom to the top...in a war and was what 5 pts off of kickin ya'll butts! You had to do a lot of studying to kick that butt! Yea...you were shackin in yo boots cause you knew the deal swag!
 2.
According to the Silsbee Middle school coaches, Hamshire-Fannett's 7th grade team is legit, not a one man team. Silsbee's 8th grade team was undefeated district champs. ;D
Wow...I love a smart man! You are absolutely right! HF is not a one man show. Last night I witnessed HF's (mostly) 9th graders...(some HF HS seniors were there) and Lil Drib. Seniors battle it out. LD-Sens were very impressive. Some of the freshman were fast and looked pretty dang good. We've gotten some new transplants into HF. Also, for HF Lil drib Sen. 8th grade and 7th have combined! J. Hunter has an older bro. on HF Lil Drib Sens team also and he ain't no chump either. In fact, I guarantee you he is working on his game right now as we speak! Getting better everyday. Kimbler, King, and Thewman ( and others) are doing their thang too. You should come out and watch. Please rest assure with all this pumpin' up HF....the Hunter boys will be ready to take on anyone! Hard work,dedication, and surrounding yourself with other winners makes the difference!
 3.
The problems start at the middle school....coaches tell parents and players "We don't have time to teach basketball."
HF Res..they don't. Unfortunately, in my opinion, nowadays, you have to come prepared in the middle school basketball setting. The coaches do not have time... there are 4 teams and there is simply not enough time..there is hardly enough of gyms for all to practice. At H-f much emphasis is put on basketball for girls not boys...i know i have a daughter. Coach Moore dedicates his time with those girls in Elem and intermediate level..I applaud him for that. Now as for the boys....No one works with them. So, you end up with multiple groups of boys that don't have sound fundamentals at the highschool level. Really, I do not see alot of respect for the game in HF. I see lots of parents get special/independent training for their kids in Baseball and soccer yet not basketball. Then when it is basketball season, those kids that have not touched a basketball all year are now on the school basketball team for FUN. This erks me. I do not get special training for my boys in baseball, soccer, or football and guess what which ever one of these sports my sons are not contributing well too....they will no longer play(let alone...demand playing time) because it is not fair to the team. In closing, if you do not have enough respect for basketball to work on your game and invest some time...then you really should find another sport. You cannot allow players that just decide to play basketball in their SENIOR year to determine your season and expect to have a winning program. It has to start much ealier. HF has got to stop being comfortable with losing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 4.

IMHO, I Think the middle school talent is down. And this includes the HOuston area. You might find one or two players on a team with decent skills and I've seen a lot of middle school talent. I don't think most kids have a love for the game. They know nothing of the history.
Blue, that always not the case in all school.Look @ Big sandy how down they are this year,but the jr.high boys have not lost a game in 2 year.Next year will be all 10 and 9 grader,then the next they will be back. ;D ;D ;D
cmon Catman, Hf is a good example. We win in middle school and get to high school and lose. But the overall talent in middle school still isn't that good.  Most kids hitting high school will find the reality of having new positions {bench or band}

Good hard-nose game and hustle from both teams. I'd like to see if the coach would set up more scoring opps for #44 at the elbow.
I am glad u got out BLUE. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
me too Cat!   ;)
I was very impressed w/HF last night. Knew already that Freshman Dante Smith would do very well....played very consistently....came up the lane strong....#34 guard and #41 showed some real basketball grit! Hopefully, HF coach will encourage more movement without the ball...overall I was very impressed. The true test will be district games with Silsbee and HJ.
 6. "PLAYER OF THE YEAR"!!!! Local 7th grader Jordan Hunter received Player of the Year for his age division last weekend at the Houston Area Basketball Allstar Tournament! Jordan Hunter attends Hamshire-Fannett Middle School Congratulations on a job well done!
 7. Well, great question. I am not sure if I have a sufficient answer but I will try. A lot of "ranking" is hype esp for a 6th grader. However, I have been following players like J.Mike Reese who is now a 10th grader who started varsity at 9th grade who is a front runner from early on for major d1 recruitment. J.Mike has been ranked since was a sixth grader by the adidas camp and other ranking agencies, and he is well known....just google him. Believe it or not recruiters and scouts are following players from early on...above average players of course..your avg player will prob not get a ranking. So, for above avg players it is a great exposure tool. Believe me someone is paying for the subscription to the ranking agencies. I feel by ninth or tenth grade you want your name out there so that when you coach sends your dvd to some college coach, you want them to at least have heard of your name or your dvd will just get stacked in the corner with all the other unknown named players dvd's that the college coach has received. Secondly, for the ranked player...just the confidence boost one gets from being marked as a top player nationally is a very positive experience, if the whole phenomenon is channeled correctly by the parents. So, really most of "ranking" is hype but I can say that if you are a parent or a player who is ranked nationally..no matter what...it makes you proud and it is something to build on. One day you should attend a national camp and pretty quickly without asking, you will know who the ranked players are..even though it is hype. Oh and lastly, ranking has nothing to do with AAU. You obtain rankings from national camps. Hope I helped.
 8. J. Hunter and J. Hunter attend Hamshire-Fannett Middle School And N. Pearson attends MLK Middle School-Beaumont
