Here are the starters you lose on offense: Raines, Shaw, Barrow, Latiolas, Byrd...returners who either started or logged significant playing time: Hopkins, Kimler, Brown, Brinkley, Albritton, Henry, Barton, Dial, Contreras.

On defense, Nederland loses: Couron, Pryor, Stampley, Wood, Taylor, Whaley, the Shaw/Barrow combination...they return: Washington, Malveaux, Seay, and Kimler.  Johnson and Holman also played significant minutes and will be back along with Mayfield who never got to play this year due to injury, but he will be a good one.

If I missed any, I apologize but this gives you a pretty good idea...Nederland will lose a ton of talent, but the cupboard will be far from bare as plenty of really good players return...the experience of this year will be a help as well...I look for Nederland to be in the mix for a DC again next year

I have the ultimate respect for our coaches, so don't take this wrong... but was wondering why not bring up some of the starting JV players to get some of this playoff atmosphere / experience?  Not that you're going to play them but just to get some exposure...  Seems like GT and PD both had lot's of extra players and was assuming that's what they did.

All we have heard this week was how the wonder twins were going to run over us.  114 yards I think total offense.  Most of that was on two plays in the second half.

All I can say is Crosby must be terrible because Nederland really sucks.

Can you say 1 and out?

JV Dogs look good.  Crosby was tough.

Like what I see of Defense..nice plays, bend don't break D, makes turnovers happen.

Offense looks good as well.  Nice all around.  Wow a Kicking game, too!!!!  Oh, what good things Larry can look forward to very soon!

Yes, they looked good and some could contribute on varsity this year if they weren't so deep. Better for them to get some reps...

also, have to thank the Crosby announcer for an excellent job--one of the best I've heard at this level. I just hope it wasn't cougtalk cause I'd hate to compliment him!

    GO DOGS!
  4. Nederland 15's got off to a slow start giving up 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th losing to Brazoswood Silver in the first game taking the long way through the tourney.  Then got on track run-ruling Bay City, then handling West Brazos before imposing the mercy rule in a rematch with Brazoswood Silver and earning a another game with last year's 3rd place World Series finisher, Brazoswood Blue.  These young men played like champions and represented our community very well, but lost in a 5-4 thriller against a very good team and a sassy home crowd.

Congratulations to the Nederland Babe Ruth 15 year old team for finishing as State Runner-up.

Thanks to Coach Bordelon for all his efforts!
