  1. But there defense wasn't that good last year either... And what they did lose is gonna hurt them pretty bad...

Though they may not have won the title, their defense was good enough to make it there and that is something worth noting.  Walters, Jackson, and Hughey are big shoes to fill, but the majority of them were sophs and Jrs.  They have bigger shoes to fill on offense.  That is where they will have to make something happen even though they return 2 very good backs as I stated in an earlier post.  Just don't expect then to be a slouch of a team.  They have alot of experience.

our defense should be strong this year wasnt that your defensive coordinator that came to Kirbyville

  2. Everyone agree with this Prediction from Dave Campbell?

    1. Kirby (No. 4)

    2. Newton (No. 10)

    3. Woodville

    4. Hemphill

    5. San Augustine

    6. Shelbyville

I don't agree with it I just don't think Kirbyville has enough offense to play with newton this year. Newton is going to have too much talent in the skilled positons and there defense is gonna be alot better this season. But I don't look to hardd into these predictions it only matters what happens on the field. They pick these winners based on last season anyway.

    i agree ;D

Dave Campbell hasnt been right about kirbyville for the last 2 years but this year he is right kirbyville will win district again

  4. This is the same person. He has been at Newton many years and actually was there in '98 for the 3A state championship and in both of the appearances in the 2000's in 2A. One we lost and one we won. I've heard he has some issues with other coaches on the Newton staff and was ready for a change. Newton will struggle on defense without him and Kirbyville should get better at whatever he coaches over there. He and Alverez go back to college days in Arkansas.

That means alot if the rumor is true.  Like the old saying goes, "It's not what you know, but who you know"....

another old sayin i think is running through coach johnsons head is ''if you cant beat em join em'' thats why he is coming to kville

  5. :'(  December 18,2004

         3A Div. II State Championship

when time ran out on Jaspers beloved Bulldogs in what is known as one the best championship games (if not one of the best ever in all games) in the state of Texas as they lost to Gilmer 49-47.  our boys gave an example of "having heart" that day i feel no highschool team can surprass! though very disappointed for our Dawgs on the final score........they have/will always be champions in all of us Dawg fans eyes!

im sure the 44-43 loss to Kirbyville last year was painful as well

  6. maybe when kirbyville is up 27-0 and they are own there opponents 7 yard line and 22 seconds left on the clock and on 2nd down then the opponents tell kirbyville they suck. Coach Alvarez calls a QB kneel and instead of a QB kneel they run a QB sneak and score once again and they suck lol.

  7. Congrats to Sir!!  At some point though you would think that the dogs would utilize some of this outstanding talent and actually win some games!!

lol.......open mouth insert foot....the numbers below are ones that most schools statewide and for sure in setx would love to have.......like it says below them.

    making theJASPER BULLDOGS

#2 All Time Playoff Appearances in 3A (39)

    #10 All Time Wins in 3A (549)

#10 All Time Playoff Appearances -all 11 man classifications (39)

#99 All Time Highest Win % Statewide (61.79%)

Loved by few. Hated by many. Respected by ALL! last line all the more true.

This didnt prove him wrong in the least

Lol typical jasper people excuses they are three times Kirbyvilles size and cant beat them they will have trouble winning and they do have talent in baseball anyways lol thats it but this is not a baseball forum

  8. Kville_extreme and Gotta_Win.....Before you negatively comment on Buna not holding up in Austin, you should probably remember back to December 13. I recall sitting in the stands in Grand Prairie,TX seeing kirbyville get their tail whipped by muleshoe 48-26! We both know how hard it is to get to state, and we both know how much it hurts falling short. My hats off to the wildcats in football and i respect them for their accomplishments on the season. They were one of the best teams in Tx. You should have the same respect for Buna baseball.

    1) this is a BASEBALL forum

    2) We made it to the STATE game, where as the Buna Baseball team made it to the State Tournament. There IS a difference..

    3) I do have respect for Buna making it there, but I am also giving the Kirbyville baseball team credit for BEATING Buna since after all Buna did make it to the State TOURNAMENT last year.

    1. i know its a baseball forum, i was simply relating my argument to a sport that kville went to state in so you would understand my concept that i was trying to make.

2.We were 2 outs away from going to the state championship game. Man What a huge difference. I hope you know there are only 3 total games in the tournament?  Kirbyville had to win 4 games to get there..Buna had to win 9 to get there...There IS a difference.

    3. Kirbyville will have to do alot more than upset Buna one time in the first few weeks of play to impress me. I'm with bigballer10. IF you beat Buna in playoffs, then i will give you credit. That is....IF....you even make it to the regional finals.

1.why cant you buna people except it you lost

2.close is not good enough and kirbyville wasnt even close so that really wasnt good on their part

3.if buna makes it to the regional finals its gonna be a miracle

  9. big deal you beat buna woopty do!!!!!!! lets have a parade.......... or wait i got an idea move on with your life the past is the past we lost you won its baseball it happens every day

bunas still good you have to respect that  this just isnt starting out to be there year they will come around but if they played kirbyville again it would be the same result

  10. Kirbyville has the total package they are seriously gonna make a run this year they have to very solid hitters Randy Musgrove and a name you can get used to hearing in southeasttexas Kael Jones just a sophmore that dude can hit field pitch he can do it all i think he will be in the running for mr southeast texas his senior year maybe even next year
