  1. Huffman

Heath Arnold- Even though he missed a little less than half the district season and all of playoffs with broked ankle that he suffered in the only run win against BH, he was Huffmans new #1 go to guy with electric stuff and before the injury i beleive the only loss he had was against a 5a in the spring tournement. Selected 1 st team pitcher.

Mike Listi- was slected 1st team pitcher. Came on real strong in his last 2 of 3 starts giving up 0 earned runs .... batted 3rd for the falcons most of the year and hit about .500 for district give or take but still had an awesome year.3 year varsity starter to add.

Zach Sipe - Huffmans only 4 year starter on the team and named to 3 1st all district slections in his soph. junior and senior years. made the transistion from the outfield to 3 rd base and hit just shy of .400 for district and pitched in the second game of the png series but got a no decision.

  2. I was at the game today and it was one of the best high school games I have ever seen.  When a team comes from 4 runs down to tie the game in the bottom of the last inning, no matter which side you are from, it is something to see.  Huffman did not score all those runs on a bunch of errors. They scored those runs because they finally got to a kid that pitched a heck of a game and his coach left him in one inning too long.  You guys that want to make excuses need to re-group, PNG is a very young and talented team, but on this day the more experienced team came out on top.  The Falcons are a team that has been to the play-offs 4 years straight.  Experience lead the way, not bad calls or errors.  Let these kids have their due, they earned it.  PNG did not lay down and choke, they got beat by a bunch of kids that have been there before and know what it takes to win in the play-offs.  I was impressed by PNG, the team was well coached and as usual they had a lot of support in the stands.  Let's try giving both teams a big hand, they deserve it.  Sipe and Flores both pitched a heck of a game, both got tired in the heat and gave up some runs in the end.  But for six innings it looked like a repeat of Wednesday nite with PNG getting the timely hits.  But give it up to Coach DeBerry, he took a gamble and it paid off for the Falcons.  The PNG-Huffman series as predicted was a good one and I for one am glad I got to see every inning.

  3. Switching gears a little bit.  Let's see how many real PNG fans there are out there?  Remember 1975 PNG vs South Houston in the football play-offs!  After SoHo beat PNG at home early in the year, PNG put a beat down on the Trojans that was epic, when it counted.  I must say, I loved every minute of that game.  Remember a PNG guy named McDougal, there is a Huffman connection there.  He was our AD and Head Football coach a few years ago in Huffman.  So you PNG folks take it easy on us over here on the west side of the big river.  If PNG travels for baseball like they do in football, look for a lot of noise from the purple and white.  Huffman is going to miss Arnold on the mound for sure.  However, this group is finally starting to come together as a team and I look for this to be a good series to follow.  The last half of district brought these kids together.  I think it goes 3, and prom won't be a factor.

  4. yeah man i played with chase on the Houston Heat and probably one of my best friends and when my dad told me this today around lunch i instantly got a feeling in my stomach like a bottomless pit...... man it is a shame falconfanatic that all you can care about now is who wins in freakin district but for Chase i talked to him early and he said he's super bummed and in just plain disbeleive but he still has high spirits keep him in your prayers

  5. i would have to say Charlie Pier of the Huffman Falcons. Charlie is the type of shooter that can be deadly form anywhere around the arch and when his teammates dont turn the ball over and finally decide to give up the rock to him on the perimeter its nothin but net when its all said and done. My props go out to Charlie and the struggling but still fighting Huffman Falcons.

  6. aight good point but last year i believe we swept barbers hill in 2 games with one being a blow out and the other sum what close and with listi pitching both games grant it hales was only a soph. but we knocked him out in the second when all mighty bridge city was shut down so that says alot from last years team and this years to come i dont think it will be that way because of hales growth amd maturity but unlike football and baseball where huffman lacked the skill and athlete to match man to man with all the other teams it is a totally different story in baseball makes for an exciting year of 4A baseball

  7. well we spaked galena park which was our dc last year to a tune of 14 to 4 in the 5 inning with arnold listi and sipe pitching which are all reurning 4 year starters and i believe it will be no big deal and hitting there returnig schmidt who hit mid to high .3oo and sipe who was second in the district in average with a .420 average on the year and listi and arnold who can swing it with the best of them so we got some sticks coming back
